My Opinion: - Today I am going to put forward my views on the Oriflame HyperStretch Mascara which I have used since January and ready to discard now. I loved this mascara a lot and buying it again, I have never repurchased any mascara other than Maybelline Colosal Volume Waterproof Mascara.

              The packaging is just like any other mascara a long slim teal plastic tube with a long slim wand, but the bristles are very short and spiral. Looks like the wand would not do its job properly but it does coat all lashes- short or long evenly. The long slim wand requires sometimes to get used to.

               The mascara smells a bit rosy like most mascaras does but the scent is not overpowering or too strong. This is a light weight mascara, very creamy, its not runny but not even thick either. Just the right formulation for a great mascara. It needs to be applied with a light hand and atleast 2-3 coats are needed for fuller thicker lashes. This mascara lengthens the lashes only to a little extent.

LASH-EXTENDING FIBER BRUSH

                     This mascara is water-resistant and not waterproof. It does not weigh down the lashes, but clumps a little. A lash comb does away with the clumpings. The lashes are fuller, thicker and a bit longer after 2-3 coats. Layering does not make the lashes wispy. It is long lasting, stays put till I remove it, I wash it off with face wash. There is no flaking and smudging if not touched or disturbed. I can't say a word about the lash growth factor but this mascara did not dry out my lashes or made them fall. This mascara takes a little time to dry but since its not a very wet formula, it does not smudge or smear.

* Affordable but you can get it cheaper during sales

* Does not weigh down the lashes

* Keeps the curls intact

* Water resistant but waterproof

* Stays on for long hours, atleast 7 hrs

* Did not irritate my eyes or dried out my lashes, no lash fall due to the use of this product

* Spiral brush and small bristles made it sure that all lashes are coated evenly

                 I rate Oriflame HyperStretch Mascara 4.25 out of 5. Great everyday mascara which stays on for long. So girlies keep waiting till this mascara is on sale and go grab one for yourself. A must have mascara for daily use. Another hit from Oriflame!!

To Use:- Place the wand of the mascara brush at the bottom of your upper lashes and wiggle back and forth. Repeat the action placing the wand on top of your lower lashes.


My Opinion:-
This is my first mascara from Avon though my first ever mascara was from Lakme/Oriflame. Mascaras makes the lashes longer and thicker without using falsies and am not a great fan of falsies :P Last month when I finished my third tube of Maybelline Collosal Volume Express Mascara (Waterproof version), I thought of trying Avon superShock Mascara as it was on sale and since I am a big fan of Avon products.

The packaging of the mascara is very basic and extremely boring kind. Its a black tube with silver writings and its a fat tube. It smells like most mascara does and the wand/brush is kind of made with flexible plastic bristles.

The brush is real big and this felicitates in coating all the lashes long or short. But a single coat does nothing much to my lashes. Therefore I have to apply atleast 3 coats for my lashes to look longer and thicker. Maybe the brush helps in separating the lashes well and there is no clumping as well.


Its color is intense black and its neither liquidy nor creamy but something in between. I have to curl my lashes before applying 2nd coat or it gives my lashes a flat and straight look which most girls including me dont like. But then it gives enough lenght and volume which I like very much.

This mascara is not waterproof but does not smudge/budge easily since if I keep my hands/fingers away from my eyes. But a little moisture can give raccoon eyes. The staying power is good enough and I can wash it off with a face wash and water, no eye makeup remover needed.

One thing I particularly dont like about this mascara is that it takes a couple of mins to dry and I have to wait with my eyes closed for it to dry. But if touch gently you will find it sticky-sticky though it wouldnt come off on your fingers, looks and feels like its still wet :P This seems to me as the reason for its non-flakiness.

Pros:-
* Affordable (better grab it when its on sale)

* Intense black

* Doesnt clump

* Doesnt smudge

* No flaking

* Adds length and volume to some extent

* Buildable

Cons:-
* Not waterproof

* Only black is available

* Wand/brush is quite big, takes a little practice to get the application right (not good for first time users)

* Lashes feel sticky after layered application

* If you touch with fingers, it smudges and gives racoon eyes (but thats not really a con)

I will rate it 3.75 out of 5. I like this mascara a lot but it cant beat my fave Mabelline Collosal Volume Express Mascara. I like my mascara to be waterproof taking into consideration Delhi ka mausam. I will try some other mascara from Avon or another brand instead of buying this one again. Well I would say that theres nothing shocking about this mascara, its an average Avon product.

                   A few common makeup tips which are often forgotten or ignored but makes a big difference if kept in mind.

* When lining your lips, fill up the whole lips with the lip pencil. It will work as a good base. If you just outline and don't fill in the color then after a couple of hours only the outline will stay.

* To make lipstick stay up for longer durations, apply the lipstick and then blot it with a tissue or dust a little loose powder over lips. Reapply your lipstick.

* When wearing dark eyes or smoky eyes apply pale nude shades of lipstick. Similarly wear deep lipstick with pale nude eyes.

* Eyebrows should be well groomed, never neglect or ignore them. If they are sparse fill in with a brow powder and give shape with a brush.

* Using an eyelash curler opens up the eyes. It makes the lashes look longer and eyes look bigger.

* Dust loose powder on your eyelashes before applying mascara to make them look thicker.

* For everyday makeup use neutral colors for the eyes. Pale shades like vanilla, sand and almond and mid shades like taupe, terracotta and peach look very flattering and soft.

* Best and most traditional way to apply blusher, even for novices, is to smile and place the blusher on the apple of the cheeks. Apply with a circular motion and then blend upward and outward. For a cream blusher use fingertips if you are not used to working with a brush.

* Always use a little foundation on your eyelids if you are not using wearing an eyeshadow. It will even out the skin and give your eyes a clean and fresh look. Set with a little loose powder using a big fluffy brush.
