Welcome summers with VICHY Laboratories’ Capital Soleil range- PR INFO

                    ~ 1st sun protection that reveals skin beauty~

Mumbai, March, 2014: Research suggests that both Ultra violet rays of the Sun, UVA and UVB are equally responsible for skin damage. Vichy Laboratories’ comprehensive solution to this growing predicament is the revolutionary Capital Soleil range, a sunscreen containing anti-oxidant minerals for balanced and double protection.

Get the flawless sun protection technology from Vichy this summer with the Capital Soleil Range that consists ofCapital Soleil Cream SPF50+, Capital Soleil Micro Fluid Mat SPF50 and Capital Soliel Spray SPF50. The sunscreen comprises of broad-spectrum UVA-UVB protection and is effective towards short wave UVA as well as long wave UVA. It contains patented Mexoryl while also being Photostable and water-resistant. The product is Paraben-free, Hypoallergenic and tested under dermatological control with Vichy Thermal Spa Water.

The Range:

**CAPITAL SOLEIL Velvety Cream SPF 50 (Skin type – Normal to Dry Skin)

Velvety Cream’s complexion refining action provides optimum sun protection from UV and long range UVA with Mexoryl SX and XL. The skin is protected from the harmful effects of the sun, brown spots and from the sun induced premature ageing. The velvety formula allows a soft and silky finish.

MRP – Rs 890 for 50ml

**CAPITAL SOLEIL Mattifying Face Fluid Dry Touch (Skin type –Oily & Acne Pone skin)

Capital Soleil Dry Touch enriched with MEXORYL, which helps protect the genetic capital against sun damage, brown spots, and sun induced premature skin ageing. It has a unique texture, which has Silica micro-beeds, that Disperses sebum and has a light scattering effect to avoid shine along with Cornstarch powder that absorbs sebum droplets on skin surface to enhance powdery feel and softness

MRP – Rs 890 for 50ml

** CAPITAL SOLEIL Micro Fluid Mat, High Protection for face SPF 50+ (Skin Type – Combination to Oily Skin)

Under the action of UV rays, combination to oily skin has a paradoxical behaviour: sebum production goes into overdrive and at the same time the skin becomes dry within. As a result the skin looks shiny on the surface and feels dry within. Micro-fluid mat is a formula enriched with Sebostop, sebum absorbing micro-particules, in order to instantly mattify skin.

MRP – Rs 1350 for 40ml

** CAPITAL SOLEIL SPRAY SPF 50+/UVA Ultra (Skin Type – Normal to Dry Skin)

A micro-diffusion technology, which allows Capital Soleil, sprays to be applied evenly for uniform protection without cracks and Spray textures that are characterized by ease of application and freshness; they are also not greasy, not sticky and penetrate rapidly, without leaving white marks on the skin, even with high SPF.

MRP – Rs. 1790 for 200ml

UVA Rays can cause wrinkles, pigmentation disorders, sunspots, immediate darkening of the pre-formed melanin while UVB rays are a source of sunburns and tanning by stimulating melanocytes to produce melanin rapidly. It has also been found that pro-longed exposure to both of these rays can induce ageing and skin cancer. Health-conscious consumers hence demand a potently shielding Sunscreen for daily application. In such a scenario, a good Sunscreen like the Capital Soleil should fulfill the following factors:

* Complete protection: Thorough measure of the Protection factor against both UVB & UVA rays thus protecting the skin’s Health, Youth and Beauty.
High Safety: Should be Hypoallergenic, friendly with sensitive skin, Non-comedogenic

* Texture: Should be easily absorbing and should suit different skin types
Resistance: Not influenced or affected by Water or Sweat

So, enjoy a bright and sunny day hesitant-free with Vichy’s Capital Soleil range and open the door to a smooth, soft and sun protected you with your favorite sunscreen this season.

ORIFLAME BEAUTY PERFECTING FACE PRIMER- REVIEW

30 g for INR 429

Oriflame Says :- Morning-fresh make-up-all day long! Light diffusing properties and emollients give your skin silky softness and an even complexion, whilst mattifying properties mean easier, more comfortable make-up application. The result is the perfect base for your make-up and

a wonderfully radiant finish.

Ingredients :- Aqua, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isonony Isononanoate, Cyclohexasiloxane, Talc, Carylyl Methicone, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Butylene Glycol, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Hexyl Laurate, Polyethylene, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, BIS-PEG/PPG-14/14 Dimethicone, Sodium Chloride, Methyparaben, Propylparaben, Silica, Titanium Dioxide, Ethylene Brassylate, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Disodium EDTA, Dimethicone, Alumina, Triethoxycaprylysilane

My Opinion :- Oriflame Face Primer the old version of this Perfecting Face Primer had the honor of being Truly Your's first ever primer. I used the old one twice and have been using the new one every winter or whenever my skin feels a little dehydrated. When Oriflame relaunched this primer, they declared that it was better than Mac Prep+ Prime, I haven't used the Mac Primer therefore I would not be able to compare the two. Anyways today I am going to put forward my views on this Oriflame Beauty Perfecting Face Primer. We use primers to create a base for foundations etc and to make the makeup last long. I have an entire post dedicated to primers here.

                            Oriflame Beauty Perfecting Face Primer tube comes boxed in a black cardboard box which carries all the necessary information like the ingredient list, product details, manufacturing and expiry dates respectively. The actual primer comes in a white translucent plastic tube with black fonts and a black screw-on cap. This tube packaging is classy, hygienic as well as travel-friendly. The neck of the tube (nozzle) is blunt like medicated ointments and gets messy, so once in a while I need to clean off the nozzle and the cap with a tissue.

                             This primer is white and a little runny, smells of some shampoo I can't remember right now :P But the scent is not overpowering, its mild and fades off after some time of application. As the primer is thin and creamy, it spreads on the skin without any effort. Oily skin beauties will not require an additional moisturiser as this primer comes with enough moisturising abilities. It adds a dewy glow to the skin upon application but does not make the skin slippery like a silicon based primer ought to do.

                               Oriflame Beauty Perfecting Face Primer gives minimal longevity to the makeup. I have oily skin and in the summers, the primer makes my T-zone shiny even in an air-conditioned environment. This primer does nothing for the fine lines but it minimizes pores to some extent. The Perfecting Primer contains a ton of silicon, it didn't irritate my skin or break me out. Also it's not mattifying, it lends a dewy finish to the skin and since I have very oily skin I tend to use it in the cold weather or whenever my skin feels a little dehydrated. Dry and normal skin girls will love this primer at all times. If you are on a budget or starting on primers, go ahead and grab this during one of those lucrative Oriflame sales. Its an affordable (Rs 429) desi primer and the first I ever came across and used from the Indian market.

Pros:

* Affordable (compared to Colorbar, Loreal, Revlon etc)

* Hygienic & travel-friendly packaging

* Doubles up as an eye makeup base

* Minimizes pores slightly

* Spreads easily on the skin

* Very light-weight formula

* Adds dewiness to the skin (Oily skin beauties might not like this feature)

* A little goes a long way

* Doesn't break me out and irritate my skin

Cons:

* No significant increase in makeup wear time

* Makes the T-zone shiny after an hour or so

* Available only through Oriflame consultants

* Makes my skin sweat in the summers

* No blurring of imperfections

                      I rate Oriflame Beauty Perfecting Face Primer 4 out of 5, I have given a high ranking because except the first and 2nd cons the other three are negligible. This is one of the first primers I came across in the Indian market and that too with an affordable price tag. Recommended for beginners and girls with dry & normal skin, also oily & combination skin girls can give a try during winters.

Hope you enjoyed my review, do leave behind your precious comments and share with us experience with Primers. Thank you and have a great Friday night :)

ORIFLAME ECOBEAUTY HAND CREAM- REVIEW

75 ml for INR 329

Oriflame Says :- A hand cream that offers immediate nourishment with Fairtrade Organic Coconut Oil and Fairtrade Shea Butter, helping to soften skin and protect against the effects of environmental stressors. Contains moisturising Organic Glycerin and mineral UV filters.

**Ecobeauty products are vegan friendly and bear The Vegan Society, we guarantee all raw materials and final products are free from animal testing, animal fat, gelatin or any ingredients derived from animals.

Ingredients :- Aqua, Glycerin, Cocos Nucifera Oil, Isopropyl Myristate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Propanediol, Bentonite, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Caprylate, Butyrosermum Parkii Butter, Xanthan Gum, Phenethyl Alcohol, Limonene, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Parfum, Linalool, Maltodextrin, Sigesbeckia Orientalis Extract, Geraniol, Quartz, Citral, CI 77891

My Opinion : I love the large variety Oriflame has to offer in Hand Creams, I have already reviewed Coconut & Ricemilk Hand Cream and Nourishing Hand Cream for Dry Hands. I use different hand creams at different times- one for the day and another for the night. The one I am using for the day is Oriflame Ecobeauty Hand Cream which I bought many months back but started using since the last month ans a half. This time I chose this particular hand cream as it boosts of being vegan, paraben free and claims to contain 99% organic ingredients. I sit in an air conditioned office whole day and naturally also my hands are on the dry side which turns drier in the winters. Therefore the need of a hand cream arises after each time I wash my hands.

                         The hand cream is thick white and light-weight, not sticky or greasy therefore it is perfect for day time use. It has been enough moisturising (but it would not work for very dry skin) since I started using it but now my hands are turning a little drier and I am planning to keep this hand cream aside after this review. The hand cream sinks into my skin in seconds with a little massage and I can almost immediately work on my laptop and handle official documents. The hand cream comes in a white opaque plastic tube with a refreshing green screw-on cap. The tube packaging is ideal for carrying around in your purse and hygienic too. The fragrance of this hand cream is not on the pleasant side but it is not unpleasant as well.

                       This hand cream washes off with water only without the use of soap so I have to reapply every time I wash my hands. But supposedly I don't wash my hands for a longer period of time, the hand cream and its moisturising effect stays on. Also a small blob of cream is required for each use so the Rs 329 tag for 75 ml is justified, after using it for over a month now nearly half of the cream is left in the tube which I shall use up later. Around September/October the skin on my hands were normal so this cream was working very well for me but now as winter is here I am switching on to a richer hand cream for day time also. Overall a good hand cream for the summers and perfect for day time use as most ladies  prefer a rich formulation for the night.

Pros:

* Good day-time hand cream

* Non-greasy & non-sticky

* Moisturises enough

* Does not transfers to papers, keypad etc

* Contains Organic Coconut Oil & Glycerin and Shea butter

* It's a Vegan hand cream

* Gets absorbed into my hands easily, within seconds

* Does not contains Parabens

Cons:

* Fragrance is not very pleasant but not unbearable as well

* Not for very dry skin

* Available only through Oriflame consultants

                     I rate Oriflame Ecobeauty Hand Cream 4.25 out of 5 as it is vegan and paraben-free. I would suggest using it during the summer months as most ladies would find it non-hydrating for the dry winter months. Another decent non-sticky non-greasy formula from Oriflame which I recommend for use during summer months at day time.

Hope you enjoyed my review, do leave behind your precious comments and share with us experiences with Oriflame Hand Creams. Thank you and have a wonderful day everyone :)

ORIFLAME OPTIMALS WHITE NIGHT CREAM- REVIEW

Liquorice Extract + Whitening Complex
All Skin Types

50 g for INR 590

Oriflame Says :- Whitening Night Cream, to help hydrate the skin during the night. Contains Liquorice extract to help lighten skin.

Use : Apply to face and neck at night, after cleansing and toning.

Ingredients :-  Aqua, Propylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glyceryl Stearate, Isopropyl Myristate, Dimethicone, Peg-40 Stearate, Petrolatum, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Saxifraga Sarmentosa Extract, Vitis Vinifera, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Sorbitan Stearate, Parfum, Sodium Hydroxide, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Methylparaben, Disodium Edta, Propylparaben, Sodium Metabisulfite, Sodium Sulfite, Morus Bombycis Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Extract, Ethylparaben, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hexyl Cinnamal, Phospholipids, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Benzyl Salicylate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra Extract, Hydroxyisohexyl 3 – Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Citronellol, Peg-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Limonene, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Linalool, Chondrus Crispus Extract

A little about the ingredients-

Vitis Vinifera: is our common grapes and its skin extract, leaf extract and the fruit extract is used for their varied properties in cosmetics. It is mainly used for its skin conditioning and antioxidant properties.

Saxifraga Sarmentosa: is an extract of the herb Strawberry Begonia. It is highly known for its skin conditioning and astringent properties.

Morus Bombycis: is an extract found in mulberries which is often used in cosmetics due to the presence of Arbutin. It controls the production of Melanin thereby naturally lightening the skin. It is also high in antioxidants and has anti-aging properties.

Scutellaria Baicalensis: also known as Baikal Scullcap is a genus of flowering plants of the mint family. Its root is used for medicinal purposes. It is a antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory agent.

Glycyrrhiza Glabra: popularly known as Liquorice is used for its moisturising, emollient, smoothing & soothing properties.

Chondrus Crispus Extract: also known as Irish Moss or Carrageen Moss is an moisturising agent used in creams, mask ,wrappings, shampoos and emulsions.

My Opinion :- After 8 months of reviewing a Garnier Night Cream I never came to reviewing another one here on BDI, not because I repurchased the Garnier one but because I used Aloe Vera Gel & a wonderful Aloe Vera overnight mask all through the summers. Today I am putting forward my views on my latest favorite night cream, Oriflame Optimals White Night Cream. The night cream comes in a glass jar with a silver grey screw-on lid. Also upon opening the main lid you would find a silver foil protector to keep the cream from becoming messy. The packaging is not hygienic as I have to dip my nails in the tub but it is travel-friendly.

                       The fragrance is sweet floral like the other Optimal White Range of products. Most people will like it. The cream is soft creamy and glides on the skin like butter. The consistency of this white night cream is between a gel and a lotion. But it takes time to get absorbed into the skin even after massaging it for a while. The cream just sits there on top of my skin for say 5 mins and thereafter the skin drinks it up. The night cream is not greasy and does not makes my skin oilier, it also is not on the heavier side though it hydrates and moisturises my oily skin well enough.

                         As you can see from the pics that I have already made more than half way through with this night cream, I must tell you that I like it a lot. I apply it religiously every night after cleansing & toning and gently massage it onto my skin. In the morning my skin is bright and radiant but not at all oily, it also feels soft and supple. The night haven't broken me out and does clog pores, that's the best part. The price is on the higher side but you can wait till the sales and get a good discount. Overall a good night cream for oily skin though Oriflame calls it a product for "all types of skin".

Pros:

* Light-weight cream

* Non-greasy, non-sticky

* Does not clogs pores

* Mild floral fragrance

* Brightens skin with regular use

* Makes skin soft & supple

* Gives fresh & radiant skin in the morning

* Gives enough moisture & hydration to my oily skin

* Impressive ingredient list

Cons:

* Not fit for dry and normal skin types though Oriflame claims it suits All Skin Types

* Available only through Oriflame consultants

* Pricey at Rs 590 for 50 gm

                     I rate Oriflame Optimals White Night Cream 4.5 out of 5. It is best suited for oily and combination skin as it is a light weight water based night cream. I love it and plan to repurchase it as soon as I finish it off. Highly recommended for oilies like me who love to flaunt fresh and bright skin.

Hope you enjoyed my review, do leave behind your precious comments and share with us experiences with Night Creams. Thank you and Happy Monday everyone :)

VASELINE TOTAL MOISTURE ALOE FRESH 24HR NOURISHING LOTION- REVIEW

For fresh and light feeling skin

100 ml for INR 69

Vaseline Says :- Total Moisture Aloe Fresh Lotion leaves your skin feeling light & fresh. Our 24hr nourishing formula combines Pure aloe+ 3 stratys multi-layer moisture.Absorbing quickly, infusing moisture at top, core and deep down layers of skin.

Ingredients :- Water, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Glycol Stearate & Stearamide AMP, Isopropyl Palmitate, Soft Paraffin, Triethanolamine, Glyceryl Stearate, Dihydroxypropyl Triammonium Chloride, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Aloe Barbadensis Gel, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Titanium Dioxide, Carbopol, Tapioca Starch, DMDM Hydrantoin,
DMDM Hydrantoin & Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Disodium EDTA, Perfume

My Opinion :- A few hours ago I told you about my day time body lotion and now I am here with my night time body lotion. I am a regular with night body lotions since many many years as I have seen my mom using one every night. Here I am going to put forward my views on Vaseline Total Moisture Aloe Fresh 24hr Nourishing Lotion which I use at night as it has no sun protection. This lotion  comes in a green flat tube type plastic opaque bottle with a flip-open lid which shuts tight. This packaging is hygienic and travel-friendly, all Vaseline body lotions comes in similar bottles.

                      The fragrance of this lightweight white body lotion is very light and refreshing, similar to of most the green tea skin care products. I like that fresh scent, it perks me up and lifts my mood. Though this lotion is lightweight, it is creamy and highly moisturising. It keeps my skin well hydrated throughout the night and in the morning my skin is soft and supple. I have also used this body lotion in the day and the effects are same. But since it does not come with sun protection, I prefer to use it at night.

                     As I have said earlier that when used at night, this body lotion keeps my skin hydrated all throughout the night. But when used in the day, it stays on for 4-5 hours max, then I feel the need to reapply it again as my skin feels a little dry. The 24 hour nourishing claim is too tall to be true from a body costing Rs 69.The body lotion is not greasy though it is thick creamy and it is not sticky either. It gets absorbed into the skin immediately with a little rubbing and unlike Vaseline Healthy White Body Lotion, I don't need to wait before putting on my night dress.

Pros :

* Dirt Cheap & Easily Available

* Travel-friendly & hygienic packaging

* Available in 3 sizes (100 ml, 200 ml & 300 ml)

* Refreshing aloe fragrance

* Lightweight lotion

* No stickiness & no greasiness

* Keeps my skin hydrated throughout the night

* Gives a smooth & silky feel to the skin upon application

Cons :

* Staying power is only 4-5 hours if used during the day

* 24hr nourishing claim is false

* No Sun Protection

                     I rate Vaseline Total Moisture Aloe Fresh 24hr Nourishing Lotion 4 out of 5 as it gives me soft and silky skin in the morning. A good body lotion be used during the summers and that too at night. But I am not repurchasing it as my skin is becoming drier and I need a richer lotion/cream for the cold days.

Hope you enjoyed my review, do leave behind your precious comments and share with us experiences with Body Lotions. Thank you and have a rocking Saturday Night :)
