Phewwwwwww that’s a longggg list

My Opinion: - Eye creams/gels are a staple in my skin care kit. I have tried out a lot of brands over the years, some eye creams/gels are good and some are ok sort of while there are a few which I would call complete wastage of my hard earned money. Today I am reviewing Avon’s Solutions Plus Total Radiance Eye Gel, which is near about over by now. The packaging of this eye gel comes boxed in a white and orange small carton. It is in bottle jar/tub form with a white plastic screw-on lid. On opening the main lid, another thin transparent lid/cover (I lost mine) can be seen which prevents the gel to come in contact with the main lid. The jar/tub is very cute and I plan to store my homemade chocolate lip balm in it now. The packaging is travel friendly and can be thrown into the purse without any fear of mess.

The consistency of this pale pink eye gel is very light and its extremely smooth and cooling on the eye area. The gel gets absorbed within few seconds and does not leave behind any sticky feeling. Its water based and non-greasy/non-oily and hence suits my oily eye lids. I apply the gel with my ring finger and gently pat it to spread, leave it on for a couple of minutes and apply makeup. It gives a slight cooling sensation when applied and I love the feeling. I apply it in the morning and at night before hitting bed. Now coming to the fragrance, it smells of ripe guavas :P and whitch hazel, though the fragrance is very mild and disappears when applied onto the skin. Ok one more thing I need to add that this gel seems to cantain micro shimmers but it is not seen on application.

The costs of this eye gel is Rs 229 which is very affordable and justified taking into consideration the amount needed for a single application, just a tiny bit is enough for each eye. It stayed with me for around about 2 ½ months or so. Now coming to the effectiveness of this eye gel, I would say that it has brightened and lightened my under eye area thereby preventing dark circles. It does controls and check puffiness to quite an extent, I get puffy eyes due to lack of sleep. Even though it’s a gel, it gives adequate moisture to my eye areas. Its not drying and it hasn’t given me any irritation during the period I used it. Overall a decent eye gel but the ones with dry skin kindly stay out.

Pros: -

* Little goes a long way hence the price of Rs 229 is justified/affordable

* Brightens my under eye area

* Reduces puffiness if any

* Never irritates or dries out my eye area

* Makeup stays put over it for long time

* It’s a eye gel, hence very light weight and perfect for girls with oily lids like me

* Contains lots of botanical extracts which sounds impressive

Cons: -

* Contains too much chemicals (actually that’s no more a con)

* Contains Paraben

 * I haven't seen it the last catalogue, Avon has this bad bad habit of taking off good products

I rate this Avon’s Solutions Plus Total Radiance Eye Gel 4.25 out of 5. It’s a decent product from Avon and I liked it quite a lot. It would not suit dry skin since it’s a water based light weight gel. It’s a must try for the girls who love eye gels.

AVON ANEW RETROACTIVE REPAIR EYE SERUM- REVIEW

12 ml for INR 429

Company Says:- * Now, reverse the visible- and invisible- signs of aging around the eyes. New Rejuvi-Cell Repair Technology fights the signs of aging- before they show.

* Instantly, revitalizes and softens the appearance of under-eye shadows.

* With continued use, diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduces puffiness. And makes the eye area look dramatically younger.

To Use:- Use twice daily, in the morning and at night. Dispense a small amount onto fingertip and gently smooth onto under-eye area, brow bone and eyelids.

Shelf life is 3 years

Ingredients:- Not listed

My Opinion:-
I am an insomniac and hence I get under eye dark circles often. I hate these circles around my eyes as they make me look older and gives a dull look to my face. Concealers are a good option in hiding these circles but eye care products are also equally good at treating them. Last time I used an eye cream from VLCC and it gave good results. So this time I thought of using the much talked about Avon Anew Retroactive Repair Eye Serum. I love Avon products because they are so effective and affordable.

The packaging is a long slim bottle with a pump dispenser which enables to control the amount of product I need. The pump is blue-grey plastic so also is the cap which shut thight. One full pump is enough for both eyes, I have been using it for more than a month now and not even half of the product is gone. The serum is iridescent which serves no purpose I suppose. It doesn't have any fragrance which is a plus point for many people.

I use it all around the eyes but only at nights after cleansing my face. It did nothing for the dark circles so I started using it during the day as well. Still there wasn't any difference but it did brighten the eye area to some extent. Nothing more than that :( It feels a little sticky if I apply too much of the serum or if I didn't blend it well. But the plus point is that this eye serum reduced puffiness if any and it also soothed my eyes. But be cautious not to get it into your eyes, stings like hell.

Then it so happened that mom suggested that I use it as an eye makeup primer. I tried and I was surprised when I saw eye shadow colors pop. Thanks Mom xoxo Also the shadows and pencil liners stayed on longer and didn't crease or smudge easily.

This Eye Serum did nothing for my dark circles but it didn't go as a complete waste since I am using it as a base/primer for my eye makeup. The packaging is completely hygienic and travel friendly. But the price is little on the higher side and it didn't do whatever it claimed.

Pros:-

* Pump dispenser is hygienic and it can also control the amount of product needed

* Iridescent pearly liquid is appealing

* Reduces puffiness and slightly brightens the eye area

* Eye shadow and eye pencils colors pop and stays for long

Cons:-

* Didn't do whatever the company claimed about it

* Feels sticky if too much is used or not massaged into the skin'properly

* Price is high compared to its effectiveness

* My dark circles remains untouched :(

* Stings very much if it gets into the eyes

* The glass bottle is thick but it might break if it falls

I rate this Avon Anew Rectroactive Repair Eye serum 2.5 out of 5 as it didn't live up to its claim and also because of the price and glass packaging. Girls please don't waste your money on this Eye Serum and kindly invest in better products. Thanks and have a good day :)

VLCC SKIN DEFENSE ALMOND UNDER EYE CREAM- REVIEW

VLCC SKIN DEFENSE ALMOND UNDER EYE CREAM- REVIEW
*All Skin Types
*Removes Dark Circles n Puffiness
15 ml/0.51 fl. oz for INR 150

Company Says:- This unique light formulation with the goodness of Almond n Wheatgerm, nourishes n moisturises the under eye area, helps reduce dark circles and puffiness, firms n tones skin. The natural active ingredients in this cream help in reducing signs of fatigue n stress.

Key Ingredients:- Chamomile Extract, Wheatgerm Oil, Almond Oil, Olive Oil, Vitamin E, Dimethicone, D-panthenol.

Method Of Use:- Apply appropriate quantity from the inside of the eye contour to the outside. Gently massage the eye contour area with your ring finger. Suits all skin types.

For Best Results:- Use twice a day after cleansing the face.

My Opinion:- Dark circles is a common problem for girls like me who sits in front of the computer whole day. There was too much work in office so I got ugly dark circles. That gave me some tension so about a month ago I bought this cream on the SAs suggestion. The VLCC Strawberry Lip Shield didn't work much for my dry chapped lips so I was skeptical about using this under-eye cream. Then I thought whats the harm in trying :D
The moment I opened the cute little jar I inhaled the fragrance and liked it. On first application I found that very less is needed because it spreads really well, just a tiny dot is sufficient for an eye. I think the product is going to stay with me for a long time. It is a thick white cream but gets absorbed by my skin very fast.
I tried blending a dry kind of concealer with the help of this cream on the dark circles and that ever so hard to use concealer worked for the first time. Then one night I was watching TV and I was so engrossed that by mistake I applied the eye cream on my lips. I always keep my lip balm on bed side table as I have very dry lips and in the middle of the night I might need a little lip balm if my lips feel dry. So that day when I woke up in the morning I felt my lip so soft and supple and saw the eye cream jar on the table I understood the reason for my great lips. I used it on my lips regularly for a week and they healed considerably.
Well, coming back to my dark circles I don't think they are completely gone but they have faded a lot. Many factors do affect our health and I believe dark circles are more of a health problem. Diet, sleep, lifestyle- all contribute to healthy skin/body/mind. A cream alone cannot do everything. Also this cream brightened the skin around my eyes, soothes tired eyes and also gives relieves in case of fatigue. My eyes are sensitive and this cream suited me like anything and never gave me watery eyes or any kind of burning sensation.

Pros:- Affordable, Reduced my dark circles considerably, soothes tired eyes, Less cream is required as it spreads easily

Cons:- Comes in a jar so its unhygienic, no sun protection.

I rate this product 4.5 out of 5 and I don't see this tub getting over in the near future :D
