VIVEL ACTIVE ESSENTIALS PURIFYING FACE WASH- REVIEW

* For pimple control
* For Oily/Normal Skin
* Purifies to help prevent pimples
* Green Tea Extract
* Dermatologically Tested

100% Soap Free Formula

50 ml for INR 65

Vivel Says: - Did you know that dirt and excess oil block facial pores leading to outbreak of pimples.

Pimple Preventive Action

1. Green Tea, a known anti-oxidant scavenges free radicals caused due to pollution to purify the skin and antibacterial agent fights pimple causing infection.

2. Oil balanced formula washes oil off the skin and gently cleanses to remove impurities without causing dryness.

Usage: - Apply on wet face. Gently massage in circular motion with fingertips avoiding eye-contours. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Use twice daily.

Ingredients: - Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Decyl Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Meltooligosyl, Glucoside/Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Acrylates/Stearath-20, Methacrylate, Crosspolymer, Polysorbate-20, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Sodium PCA, Polyquaternium-47, Glycerin, Triethanolamine, Fragrance, DMDM Hydanation, Triclosan, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Camella Sinesis Leaf Extract, Benzophenone-4, CI 11680, CI 74160.

My Opinion: - Today I am reviewing Vivel Purifying Face Wash with Green Tea Extracts which I bought a while back. I bought it because I saw the words "Pimple Control" & "Green Tea Extracts" inscribed on the tube. The tube is nearly over and now I remember that I have not yet reviewed it. The face wash like all face washes comes in a tube with a flip open lid. The white plastic tube with pink and green designs looks refreshing, the flip open lid is green in color and shuts tight and hence I would call it travel safe. And yes this kind of tube packaging with flip open lids are hygienic too.

                        This face wash is a thick and colorless gel. Its not very thick and very runny as well. The fragrance is good, fresh citrusy scent which fades off after application. It does not lathers well and is 100% soap free.My skin does not feel dry and stretchy after using this face wash. It cleans well but does not give that squeaky clean feel to the skin. It gives a fresh feel which does not stay on for long. The face wash cleans only the daily makeup (moisturiser/sunscreen etc) and is ineffective against eye-makeup & lip makeup, well it does claim to clean off makeup so that's ok.

                   This purifying face wash does not leave behind any residue but it needs to be washed off properly. I mean you would need a lot of water to wash it off completely. It clears off the oil effectively but is unable to control oil production. Now the big deal is that it does absolutely nothing for my pimples. Does not help with existing ones and is unsuccessful in preventing new ones. Then whats the need for a pimple preventing face wash which cannot prevent pimples!!!! End of story....

Pros: -

* Affordable & Easily Available

* Travel-friendly & Hygienic packaging

* Contains Green Tea Extract

* Dermatologically Tested

* Does not dry out my skin or makes it stretchy

* Cleans well

* 100% soap free

Cons: -

* Does not Prevent Pimples or helps to dry the existing ones

            I rate Vivel Active Essentials Purifying Face Wash 3.75 out of 5. But I would not recommended this to beauties who are looking for a pimple control face wash but I would say that it is a good face wash for combination to oily skin. Just an average product nothing special about it.

Hope this review helped you in some way and do leave behind your sweet comments and also tell us about your favorite Vivel Face Wash. Thank you and have a rocking Afternoon and also Eid Mubarak to everyone :)

AVON CARE FAIRNESS EXFOLIATION FACE WASH- REVIEW

50 g for INR 95

Avon Says: - New Avon Care Fairness Exfoliation Face Wash gently cleanses skin and removes light makeup. After use, it makes skin look brighter and leaves a healthy, radiant and clean glow.

* Formulated with Licorice Extract
* Allergy Tested
* Dermatologist Tested
* Suitable daily use

To Use: Take desired amount onto wet hand and create lather. Massage onto face in a circular motion. Rinse off and pat dry. Use daily.

Warning: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, immediately flush with water. Keep out of reach of children.

Ingredients: - Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, glycerin, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Cocomidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Propylene Glycol, Acrylates/C 10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Polyethylene, Lauramidopropyl Betaine, Potassium Hydroxide, Methylparaben, Fragrance, Disodium EDTA, Phosphoris Acid, Glycerrhizza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Methychloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, CI 14700, CI 60730

Shelf Life: 3 years

My Opinion: - There has been an overload of brush reviews in BDI, for a change here I am reviewing Avon's Fairness Exfoliation Face Wash. I use exfoliating face wash regularly specially in the summers and this time I chose this one from Avon. The packaging of the face wash is very pretty and girly. The plastic tube is a pin and white gradient with a navy blue screw-on cap. This tube is travel friendly as well as hygienic. Its a small tube and can be thrown into your purse for emergencies.

                    The fragrance of this exfoliating face was is sweet and fruity. I think it will be liked by most people even by the ones with sensitive noses. The testure is that of a clear gel, not thick but not even runny. The gel is infused with very tiny grains which are not visible to the naked eyes. But these grains are extremely mild and non-gritty. I take out a blob of this face wash on the back of my hand and gently massage it onto my wet face for a minute or two. I wash off by splashing water and it goes off easily. The grains are gentle on my skin but gives a good polishing and cleansing. It brightens and adds a glow to the skin temporarily.

                     I have been using it on and off  for sometimes now (2 months) and the tube is nearly over now. I think daily use will give 40+ days of product and since I have not been using it frequently, the tube still has a few uses of product left in it. Therefore its affordable at Rs 95 and you need a small blob for every use. This face wash lathers a little and beauties who love their face washes to foam a lot might not like this. It removes light makeup (moisturiser, compact powder) effortlessly. It gives a clean and fresh feel to my skin after using it making it soft and supple. For the past one week I have been using it daily just to finish it off and it has not irritated my skin or dried it. Perfect for daily use.

Pros: -

* Affordable

* Mild exfoliation

* Gentle on skin

* Didn't irritate my skin or break me out

* All claims made by the brand are true

* Cleans, softens and  brightens my skin

Cons: -

* Contains Parabens (most products do)

*  None actually

             I rate Avon Care Fairness Exfoliation Face Wash 4.5 out of 5 as it is very affordable and cleans my skin perfectly. With regular use, this tube of face was will take 40+ days to get over. It didn't irritate my oily acne prone skin and didn't dry out my skin with daily use. Avon claims this face wash is suitable for all skin types, but I have doubts very dry skin beauties might not like it as much as oily skin beauties would.

Hope this review helped you in some way and do leave behind your sweet comments and also tell us about your favorite Exfoliating Face Wash. Thank you and have a great Sunday afternoon :)

Caution: Avoid contact with eyes. In case of eye contact rinse thoroughly with clear water.

Ingredients: - Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Carbomer, Polyquraternium 39, Cocoamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerine, Perfume, Microcrystalline Wax Beads White, Cocamide MEA, Sodium Hydroxide, Menthol, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Allantoin, Niacinanide, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Tocopheryl Acetate, CI 17200, DMDM Hydanroin, Iodopropynyl Butyl Carbamate.

Face Wash contains Iodine

My Opinion: - Yesterday I reviewed the newly launched Lakme Clear Pores Clean Up Range which were available in shops long before their formal launch. So today I am going to review the pretty pink Lakme Fresh Fairness Clean Up Range and I am starting with the face wash. In my Lakme Clear Pores Clean Up Face Scrub review post, I had said that I have been using an exfoliating face wash daily. Yes I was talking about Lakme Fresh Fairness Clean Up Face Wash with Vitabeads which I have been using since 45 days or so and I still have product left in the tube to be used. I don't use it when I use any scrub other than the Fresh Fairness Scrub.

                         Ok now coming back to the review, the packaging is a pretty pink tube with opalescent flip open lid which I never take along during my travels. The lid is not loose at first but somehow it does not stay tight after some days of use. And hence I fear it might create a big mess in my makeup/skin care kit. The fragrance is mild and artificial with a touch of floral notes, I personally don't like it and I would recommend checking out the scent at the store before purchasing. It smells somewhat like bleach if I am not wrong.

                           The face wash is a thick clear gel with a slight pink tinge to it with invisible beads which Lakme calls Vitabeads, you can just feel them when you rub your palms together to lather up the gel. I squeeze out a small blob of the gel on my palm and add a few drops of water, foam it and then apply to my wet face and neck and yes let me tell you it lathers up very well. I leave it to work for a minute or two and rinse off. Just a few splashes are enough to wash off the face wash and it does not leave behind any residue on my skin. It gives an instant cool tingling freshness, thanks to Menthol. The Vitabeads gives a gentle exfoliation to my skin which I think is necessary for oilies like me on a daily basis.

                              This Fresh Fairness Face Wash leaves my skin soft and radiant and gives an immediate whitening effect which I hate. The effects are temporary but one thing I like about this face wash is that it can control oil for 2-3 hours. Also it does not give me that horrid stretchy after feel. It removes dirt and grime and light make up with ease. Lakme claims this face wash is suitable for all skin types but I have a doubt as it controls oil and my skin is very oily so I think it will not suit dry skin. Lakme also claims that this range is enriched with Apricot Extracts along with Vitabeads but I do not see Apricot in the Ingredient list.

Pros: -

* Easily Available & Affordable

* Pretty Pink Packaging <3 <3 <3

* A small blob is enough for one use, 50 gms still going on after 1 + month of use

* Makes skin soft & radiant

* Gives cool tingling freshness

* Vitabeads gives mild exfoliation

* Washes off easily and does not leave behind any residue

* Cleans off dirt, grime & light makeup

Cons: -

* It smells mildly of bleach and the fragrance in overall is very fake

* Temporary effects

* Gives a fake whitening effect immediately on use

* Lakme website says that this range is enriched with Vitabeads & Apricots Extracts, then why is Apricot not mentioned on the ingredient list?

                I rate Lakme Fresh Fairness Clean Up Face Wash 3.75 out of 5. Its just another face wash with a slight exfoliating action. I hate the scent and the fake whitening effect it gives to my skin. Otherwise it cleans well and controls oil to some extent. Not for dry skin even if Lakme says this range suits all skin types, according to me. And that Apricot thing intrigues me :P

Hope this review helped you in some way and do leave behind your sweet comments and also share with us your experience with Exfoliating Face Washes. Thank you and have a great afternoon :)

LAKME CLEAR PORES CLEAN UP FACE WASH- REVIEW

With Green Tea Extracts

50 g for INR 90

Lakme Says: - Get a Salon-like* Clean-Up
# Cleanses skin gently yet effectively for clear and matte skin
# Helps remove excess oil & helps prevent breakouts

Professional Tip: Use the complete 3 STEP LAKME Clear Pores Clean-Up regularly to see results.

* Refers to basic products used in salon clean ups.

The dirt and excess oil on your skin tends to make it dull and lifeless. Wash your face with Lakmé Clean-up Clear Pores Face Wash and prep your skin for a deep cleansing experience. Enriched with green tea extracts to help soothe your skin, and salicylic acid to prevent breakouts and fight blemishes, this face wash cleanses all visible dirt and impurities, helps control excess oil, and makes your skin feel tingling fresh and matte smooth. (Taken from Lakme Website)

Usage: Squeeze a small amount into your palms and work into a rich lather. Massage on wet face. Rinse thoroughly with water. Suitable all year round.

Caution: Avoid contact with eyes. In case of eye contact rinse thoroughly with clear water.

Ingredients: - Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Cocamido Propyl Betaine, Glycerin, Acrylates Steareth-20 Methacrylate Copolymer, Niacinamide, Sodium Chloride, Triethanolamine, Perfume, Salicyclic Acid, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Zinc PCA, Menthol, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Benzophenone 4,  CI 15985, CI 19140, CI 40290, DMDM Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl Butyl Carbamate.

Face Wash Contains Iodine.

My Opinion: - Today I am reviewing the recently launched Lakme Clear Pores Clean Up Range With Green Tea Extracts, I shall start with the face wash first as this is the 1st step to the Salon Clean-Up Regime. This range promises to give a clear & matte skin in 3 easy steps. So lets find out how they fared with me, I have oily-acne prone skin and right now while writing this post I have 6 painful ugly acne sitting on my face. I have very oily skin and therefore I pounce on anything that says "With Green Tea/Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extracts".The packing itself is very refreshing to the eyes, aqua green tube with opalescent flip open cap which I wouldn't trust while travelling, might leak and make a big mess. The fragrance is mild but very refreshing like fresh green tea leaves.

                      The face wash looks a very light blue-green gel and is on the thicker side as it is not at all runny. A pea size amount is more than enough and lathers very well. The ladies who love foaming/lathering face washes will love this. I usually take out a little on my palm, add a few drops of water, later it up and apply it on my face. I gently spread it all over my face and neck, wait for a couple of mins to let it work on dirt, grime, stale make-up etc and rinse off with water. A few splashes are enough for a squeaky clean feeling. My skin feels fresh and clean and also looks matte. But this face wash does not dry out my skin nor does it give me that horrid stretchy feeling. After that I use a toner and my regular moisturiser.

                        This face wash definitely mattifies my skin and keeps it that way for about 4 hours at a stretch in an air-conditioned environment but in a non air-conditioned environment it is a little less potent, keeps my skin matte for 2.5 hours at the max. Now coming to the tingling fresh and smooth skin claim, yes both are true to some extent. I mean, upon using this face wash it gives that fresh-cool tingling feel (that justifies the presence of Menthol) and makes the skin very smooth temporarily. It also temporarily shrinks the pores and this is one reason most large-pored oily-skin beauties will love this face wash. The brand truly claims that Green Tea Extracts will soothe the breakouts which it does very well but the Salicylic Acid claim of preventing breakouts is not much true since I have quite a few ugly ones sitting on my face today even after using this product regularly for around 25 days (not less if more).

                          This face wash will suit combination to oily skin with frequent breakouts, I say this as this face wash do not irritate my breakouts but soothe them to quite an extent. Another thing about the the fragrance is that it lingers on for sometimes before fading off. I don't think that refreshing but mild scent will bother even the sensitive noses. One more thing as I wrap up my review of this that it does not leave behind any residue on my skin and gives that squeaky feel to my skin. It does not clean off heavy makeup but it is not designed for that purpose so no problem in this area. But it does clean off your normal bb/cc creams etc but not kajals. For the last few weeks I have been using this range (scrub & mask) once every 5 days and this face wash every day once and I think I am liking it. But this range gives good result when used as a regime in combination with the other products (scrub & mask).

Pros: -

* Easily Available & Affordable

* Soothes my breakouts

* Easy to rinse off, does not leave behind any residue

* Lathers very well (many girls love this quality in a face wash)

* Refreshing fragrance of fresh green tea leaves (extract/oil)

* Shrinks the pores, mattifies the skin, gives a smooth feel (temporary)

* Contains Green Tea/Camellia Sinensis Extracts & Salicylic Acid, both are known to be very good for oily-acne prone skin

Cons: -

* Contains SLS, hence the rich lather

* All the effects are temporary, very short lived

                     I rate Lakme Clear Pores Clean Up Face Wash 4 out of 5 specially because of its pore shrinking and mattifying capabilities though these are very temporary. The presence of green tea & salicylic acid didn't let me rate this face wash any less than 4. This isn't recommended for dry or normal skin beauties as you might feel that horrid stretchy after feel which we all hate. This is not a great face wash but its worth trying once if you are an oil factory like me :D

Hope this review helped you in some way. Thank you for reading this review and please do leave behind your experience with Lakme Face Washes. Have a great time ahead :)

ORIFLAME ESSENTIALS FAIRNESS 5 IN 1 GEL WASH- REVIEW

75 ml for INR 249

Mulberry Extracts and Vitamin E

Company Says: - Essentials Fairness 5 in 1 Gel Wash with Mulberry extracts and Vitamin E- cleanses, purifies, mattifies, brightens and comforts the skin all at once! Oriflame’s Essentials Fairness 5 in 1 Gel Wash’s multi-action cleansing formula helps brighten and even out skin tone. It also helps remove excessive oil without over drying and is suitable for combination to oily skin types.

Ingredients: - Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Coco-Glucoside Tartrate, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Glycol Distearate, Phenoxyethanol, Parfum, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Laureth-4, PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate, Sodium Chlorise, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Citric Acid, Saxifraga Sarmentosa Extract, Vitis Vinifera Extract, Propylparaben, Tocopheryl Acetate, PEG-35 Castor Oil, Ethylparaben, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Metabisulfite, Sodium Sulfite, Formic Acid, Morus Bombycis Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Extract

My Opinion: - By now all my sweet readers must have known about my love for Face Washes. Ok if you are new to BDI or haven't noticed, I am a big fan of Face Washes. As of now I have 10 face washes in my bathroom cabinet. So today I am going to review one from the stash, and its the Oriflame Essentials Fairness 5 in 1 Gel Wash for Oily Skin. The packaging is very basic, white and pink plastic tube with white plastic screw-on cap. Travel friendly and hygienic tube but not the kind I would want to tote around daily.

                  The fragrance is fresh herbal-y but pleasant and not overpowering. The scent lingers on for some minutes before fading off. The texture is smooth gel and the consistency is watery/runny, a runny opalescent colorless gel. The amount shown in the swatch picture is more than enough for one use. This face wash lathers well and will be a treat to the girlies who love foaming face washes. But it is soap free and very gentle on my oily skin. Does not make my skin feel stretchy after a wash but definitely mattifies it.

                    I used this face wash once a day in the morning, and it brightens my skin to a great deal. It controls/combats oil for a long time and gives a squeaky clean feel to the skin. After every wash my skin feels soft and supple. It does not make the skin fair but brightens it and gives a fresh look. The face wash is easy to wash off and does not leave behind any residue. It cleans off daily makeup without any hassles but cannot clean off kajals and waterproof mascaras. This tube will finished off in about 2 months with regular usage, hence I will call it affordable.

SEE HOW WATERY THIS GEL WASH IS

Pros: -

* Does what it claims- mattifies

* Brightens, softens, cleans my skin and controls oil

* Effective in summers too

* Does not leave behind any residue

* Small amount of product is required for each use and hence its affordable

* This face wash didn't bother my skin and my break outs, it's very mild

Cons: -

* Fairness claim is false

* Contains Parabens

* Available only through Oriflame consultants

                 I rate Oriflame Essentials Fairness 5 in 1 Gel Wash for Oily Skin 4 out of 5. I like it a lot for it's true claims and it suits my oily skin very well. Recommended to oilies like me, this baby will work well in summers too.
