ORIFLAME OPTIMALS SEEING IS BELIEVING MULTI BENEFITS EYE CREAM- REVIEW

All Skin Types

15 ml for INR 439

Company Says: - Light weight eye cream visibly reduces puffiness, brightens dark circles and help smooth out fine lines. Its D-circle complex helps reduce puffy eyes and brighten dark circles. Eyebright extract helps soften shadows.

Ingredients: - Aqua, Glycerin, Isopropyl Myristate, Sesamum Indicum Seed Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Butylene Glycol, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Dimethicone, Petrolatum, Sorbitan Stearate, Tetrahydroxyproply Ethylenediamine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Carbomer, Caffeine, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Euphrasia Officinalis Extract, Propylene Glycol, Saxifraga Sarmentosa Extract, Vitis Vinifera Extract, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protien, Propylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Allantoin, Sodium Metabisulfite, Sodium Sulfite, Xanthan Gum, Morus Bombycis Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Extract, Sodium Chloride, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, EDTA, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Glucose, Sorbic Acid, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben, CI 42090

Some of the Ingredients simplified-

Vitis Vinifera: is our common grapes and its skin extract, leaf extract and the fruit extract is used for their varied properties in cosmetics. It is mainly used for its skin conditioning and antioxidant properties.

Morus Bombycis: is an extract found in mulberries which is often used in cosmetics due to the presence of Arbutin. It controls the production of Melanin thereby naturally lightening the skin. It is also high in antioxidants and has anti-aging properties.

Euphrasia Officinalis: also known as Eyebright is used in eye lotion/cream and eyewash. It soothes irritated and inflamed eyes. This herb is used to combat as well as treat many eye deseases/problems.

Chondrus Crispus: also known as Irish Moss or Carrageen Moss is an moisturising agent used in creams, mask ,wrappings, shampoos ans emulsions.

My Opinion: - Eye Creams are a necessity for me as I am sleep deprived at times and therefore puffiness and dark circles are regular problems I face. Though my dark circles are light but the puffiness is real ugly at times. Today I am reviewing Oriflame Optimals Seeing is Believing Multi Benefits Eye Cream which I have been using since many many years now but on and off, not regularly. I love the cute glass jar it comes in, though its not hygienic since I have to dip my finger in the jar, I still love it. The eye cream comes in a grey-blue carton and is a heavy glass jar with a screw on grey plastic lid. Upon opening the lid, a silver foil protective shield can be seen which prevents the cream to come in contact with the lid. Very travel friendly.

The consistency of this light blue eye cream is thick creamy and the texture is buttey soft. Even though it looks thick, its light weight and easily gets absorbed into the skin. I just need to apply a few dots around my eyes and pat it until the cream is spread well and absorbed. The eye cream is non-fragrant which is a big advantage as many girls like non-fragrant creams/lotions these days.

THE SWATCH

Usually I use this eye cream at nights and in the mornings I find all the puffiness gone plus the skin around the eyes is well moisturised, soft, smooth and bright. It does work on my slight dark circles but I can tell that it will never work on serious dark circles. Also it does nothing for fine lines, not that I have a lot of lines but I think this cream will not be effective against fine lines around the eyes. But it does give that fresh and healthy look to the eyes. At times I use this Eye Cream during the day, concealers blends well with it underneath, shadow goes on well and liner is also not disturbed. This eye cream has remained my favorite since years as it does not make my oily lids oilier. The amount in the swatch pic is enough for more than one use and hence the price is justified.

Pros: -

* Moisturises and brightens the skin around my eyes

*
 Reduces and banishes puffiness

* Works well as eye makeup base

* Does not make my oily lids oilier

* Makes the skin around my eyes soft and smooth

* Makes the eye are look fresh and healthy

* I apply this eye cream at nights only and a jar sees me through 2 1/2 months, hence the price is justified

Cons: -

* Availability is an issue as this product is available only through Oriflame Consultants

* Does nothing for serious dark circles

* Does not do much for fine lines around the eye area

* Contains oodles of parabens

I rate Oriflame Optimals Seeing is Believing Multi Benefits Eye Cream 4.25 out of 5. I highly recommend this eye cream to beauties with puffiness problem. Try once and you won't regret.

Hope this review helped you in some way. Thank you for reading this review and please do leave behind your experience with Oriflame Eye Creams. Have a great time ahead :)

Company Says: - This soothing gel refreshes and revives the eye area. Minimizes the appearance of undereye bags and helps brighten dark circles.

To  Use: - Every  morning and evening, gently pat under and around eye area.

Ingredients: - Water, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel), Glycerin Aluminun Starch Octenylsuccinate, Propylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Carbomer, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Hydroxide, Methylparaben, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Allantoin, Ethylene/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Panthenol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Squalene, Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), PEG-8, Polysorbate 60, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Bupleurum Falcatum Extract, Hesperidin Methyl Chalcone, Steareth-20, Euphrasia Officinalis extract, Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Lupinus Luteus Seed Extract, Lecithin, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Gern Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Fruit Extract, Caffeine, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Extract, C-12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, CI 16035, Anthemis Nobilis Flower (Bitter Orange) Fruit Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, CI 19140, Sodium Lactate Methylsilanol, Dipeptide-2, Salicyclic Acid, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Sambucus Canadensis Extract, Retinyl Palmitate, Disodium EDTA Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Beta-Carotene, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil
Phewwwwwww that’s a longggg list

My Opinion: - Eye creams/gels are a staple in my skin care kit. I have tried out a lot of brands over the years, some eye creams/gels are good and some are ok sort of while there are a few which I would call complete wastage of my hard earned money. Today I am reviewing Avon’s Solutions Plus Total Radiance Eye Gel, which is near about over by now. The packaging of this eye gel comes boxed in a white and orange small carton. It is in bottle jar/tub form with a white plastic screw-on lid. On opening the main lid, another thin transparent lid/cover (I lost mine) can be seen which prevents the gel to come in contact with the main lid. The jar/tub is very cute and I plan to store my homemade chocolate lip balm in it now. The packaging is travel friendly and can be thrown into the purse without any fear of mess.

The consistency of this pale pink eye gel is very light and its extremely smooth and cooling on the eye area. The gel gets absorbed within few seconds and does not leave behind any sticky feeling. Its water based and non-greasy/non-oily and hence suits my oily eye lids. I apply the gel with my ring finger and gently pat it to spread, leave it on for a couple of minutes and apply makeup. It gives a slight cooling sensation when applied and I love the feeling. I apply it in the morning and at night before hitting bed. Now coming to the fragrance, it smells of ripe guavas :P and whitch hazel, though the fragrance is very mild and disappears when applied onto the skin. Ok one more thing I need to add that this gel seems to cantain micro shimmers but it is not seen on application.

The costs of this eye gel is Rs 229 which is very affordable and justified taking into consideration the amount needed for a single application, just a tiny bit is enough for each eye. It stayed with me for around about 2 ½ months or so. Now coming to the effectiveness of this eye gel, I would say that it has brightened and lightened my under eye area thereby preventing dark circles. It does controls and check puffiness to quite an extent, I get puffy eyes due to lack of sleep. Even though it’s a gel, it gives adequate moisture to my eye areas. Its not drying and it hasn’t given me any irritation during the period I used it. Overall a decent eye gel but the ones with dry skin kindly stay out.

Pros: -

* Little goes a long way hence the price of Rs 229 is justified/affordable

* Brightens my under eye area

* Reduces puffiness if any

* Never irritates or dries out my eye area

* Makeup stays put over it for long time

* It’s a eye gel, hence very light weight and perfect for girls with oily lids like me

* Contains lots of botanical extracts which sounds impressive

Cons: -

* Contains too much chemicals (actually that’s no more a con)

* Contains Paraben

 * I haven't seen it the last catalogue, Avon has this bad bad habit of taking off good products

I rate this Avon’s Solutions Plus Total Radiance Eye Gel 4.25 out of 5. It’s a decent product from Avon and I liked it quite a lot. It would not suit dry skin since it’s a water based light weight gel. It’s a must try for the girls who love eye gels.

Hope you enjoyed my review, do leave behind your precious comments and share with us experiences with eye gels. Thank you and have a nice time

AVON ANEW RETROACTIVE REPAIR EYE SERUM- REVIEW

12 ml for INR 429

Company Says:- * Now, reverse the visible- and invisible- signs of aging around the eyes. New Rejuvi-Cell Repair Technology fights the signs of aging- before they show.

* Instantly, revitalizes and softens the appearance of under-eye shadows.

* With continued use, diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduces puffiness. And makes the eye area look dramatically younger.

To Use:- Use twice daily, in the morning and at night. Dispense a small amount onto fingertip and gently smooth onto under-eye area, brow bone and eyelids.

Shelf life is 3 years

Ingredients:- Not listed

My Opinion:-
I am an insomniac and hence I get under eye dark circles often. I hate these circles around my eyes as they make me look older and gives a dull look to my face. Concealers are a good option in hiding these circles but eye care products are also equally good at treating them. Last time I used an eye cream from VLCC and it gave good results. So this time I thought of using the much talked about Avon Anew Retroactive Repair Eye Serum. I love Avon products because they are so effective and affordable.

The packaging is a long slim bottle with a pump dispenser which enables to control the amount of product I need. The pump is blue-grey plastic so also is the cap which shut thight. One full pump is enough for both eyes, I have been using it for more than a month now and not even half of the product is gone. The serum is iridescent which serves no purpose I suppose. It doesn't have any fragrance which is a plus point for many people.

I use it all around the eyes but only at nights after cleansing my face. It did nothing for the dark circles so I started using it during the day as well. Still there wasn't any difference but it did brighten the eye area to some extent. Nothing more than that :( It feels a little sticky if I apply too much of the serum or if I didn't blend it well. But the plus point is that this eye serum reduced puffiness if any and it also soothed my eyes. But be cautious not to get it into your eyes, stings like hell.

Then it so happened that mom suggested that I use it as an eye makeup primer. I tried and I was surprised when I saw eye shadow colors pop. Thanks Mom xoxo Also the shadows and pencil liners stayed on longer and didn't crease or smudge easily.

This Eye Serum did nothing for my dark circles but it didn't go as a complete waste since I am using it as a base/primer for my eye makeup. The packaging is completely hygienic and travel friendly. But the price is little on the higher side and it didn't do whatever it claimed.

Pros:-

* Pump dispenser is hygienic and it can also control the amount of product needed

* Iridescent pearly liquid is appealing

* Reduces puffiness and slightly brightens the eye area

* Eye shadow and eye pencils colors pop and stays for long

Cons:-

* Didn't do whatever the company claimed about it

* Feels sticky if too much is used or not massaged into the skin'properly

* Price is high compared to its effectiveness

* My dark circles remains untouched :(

* Stings very much if it gets into the eyes

* The glass bottle is thick but it might break if it falls

I rate this Avon Anew Rectroactive Repair Eye serum 2.5 out of 5 as it didn't live up to its claim and also because of the price and glass packaging. Girls please don't waste your money on this Eye Serum and kindly invest in better products. Thanks and have a good day :)

Puffy Eyes- Treatment, Prevention & Makeup

Puffy Eyes look oh so ugly on anyone, they can mar your beauty and actually make you look sick and old. They take away the charm and all your efforts to look good go in vain. Eyes are puffed up due to lack of sleep, excessive alcohol consumption, long exposure to heat and light, pre-menstrual fluid retention, oily makeup remover, rich eye creams left on overnight, water retention and crying etc.

Treatments at home:-
* Dip 2 cotton pads into icy cold milk and place over closed eyelids. Relax till the pads warm up. Repeat the process if you want.

* Splash icy cold water on your eyelids. Blot dry and relax with slices of potatoes over closed eyelids. This is extremely beneficial for puffy eyes.

* Saturate cotton pads in hot water (as hot as you can bear) to which a tspn of salt has been added. Place on eyelids to reduce puffiness.

* Green or Black tea chilled and applied on eyelids with cotton pads and left till the pads warm up is great for reducing puffiness.

* Chilled tea bags (used ones) can be placed over eyelids as cold compress for relaxation.

But I do believe that prevention is better than cure. A little effort can save you from having those bags under your eyes.
To prevent puffed eyes:-

* Exercise your eyes to improve circulation as well as vision.

* Avoid salty food as much as you can and also avoid adding extra salt to your food.

* Don't pull, rub and tug your eyes, they are delicate and should he handled with utmost care.

* Choose your cosmetic/skincare products sensibly when buying for eyes or area around eyes.

* Always use a comfortable pillow while sleeping .

* Take regular cold compress because these tend to reduce/avoid local fluid retention around the eyes and aid in circulation.

* Splash your eyes with cool water first thing in the morning after waking up.

* If using a makeup remover on your face/eyes, wash off with a gentle face wash.

Makeup for puffy eyes:-

*Use eye primer and a non oily foundation which is a shade darker than your normal skin-tone.

* Use a medium shadow on your upper lid and line below the lower lash-line with that same medium shadow and extend outwards.

* Now take a darker shadow and line the upper as well as lower lash-line with it and extend outwards and upwards.

* A dash of shimmer shadow around the inner corners of your eyes will create an illusion of a sexy pair of eyes.

* A generous application of mascara especially on the outer upper lashes will further glam up your eyes.

So that's all I have for today, hope you all enjoy reading this. And yes, if I have left out any point or you want to share a tip/trick then please do let me know.

VLCC SKIN DEFENSE ALMOND UNDER EYE CREAM- REVIEW

VLCC SKIN DEFENSE ALMOND UNDER EYE CREAM- REVIEW
*All Skin Types
*Removes Dark Circles n Puffiness
15 ml/0.51 fl. oz for INR 150

Company Says:- This unique light formulation with the goodness of Almond n Wheatgerm, nourishes n moisturises the under eye area, helps reduce dark circles and puffiness, firms n tones skin. The natural active ingredients in this cream help in reducing signs of fatigue n stress.

Key Ingredients:- Chamomile Extract, Wheatgerm Oil, Almond Oil, Olive Oil, Vitamin E, Dimethicone, D-panthenol.

Method Of Use:- Apply appropriate quantity from the inside of the eye contour to the outside. Gently massage the eye contour area with your ring finger. Suits all skin types.

For Best Results:- Use twice a day after cleansing the face.

My Opinion:- Dark circles is a common problem for girls like me who sits in front of the computer whole day. There was too much work in office so I got ugly dark circles. That gave me some tension so about a month ago I bought this cream on the SAs suggestion. The VLCC Strawberry Lip Shield didn't work much for my dry chapped lips so I was skeptical about using this under-eye cream. Then I thought whats the harm in trying :D
The moment I opened the cute little jar I inhaled the fragrance and liked it. On first application I found that very less is needed because it spreads really well, just a tiny dot is sufficient for an eye. I think the product is going to stay with me for a long time. It is a thick white cream but gets absorbed by my skin very fast.
I tried blending a dry kind of concealer with the help of this cream on the dark circles and that ever so hard to use concealer worked for the first time. Then one night I was watching TV and I was so engrossed that by mistake I applied the eye cream on my lips. I always keep my lip balm on bed side table as I have very dry lips and in the middle of the night I might need a little lip balm if my lips feel dry. So that day when I woke up in the morning I felt my lip so soft and supple and saw the eye cream jar on the table I understood the reason for my great lips. I used it on my lips regularly for a week and they healed considerably.
Well, coming back to my dark circles I don't think they are completely gone but they have faded a lot. Many factors do affect our health and I believe dark circles are more of a health problem. Diet, sleep, lifestyle- all contribute to healthy skin/body/mind. A cream alone cannot do everything. Also this cream brightened the skin around my eyes, soothes tired eyes and also gives relieves in case of fatigue. My eyes are sensitive and this cream suited me like anything and never gave me watery eyes or any kind of burning sensation.

Pros:- Affordable, Reduced my dark circles considerably, soothes tired eyes, Less cream is required as it spreads easily

Cons:- Comes in a jar so its unhygienic, no sun protection.

I rate this product 4.5 out of 5 and I don't see this tub getting over in the near future :D
