My Opinion: - Lip crayons do look cute and most of us have gone crazy and grabbed as many as possible from all brands that launched these crayons. When I saw similar crayon in the Oriflame catalog I grabbed 3 of these- Vibrant Almond, Pink Impact & Striking Rose. Oriflame chose to call them Lip Impact Crayons and today I am going to put forward my views on the shade Striking Rose which is a pretty but vibrant pink with blue undertones, bright and vivid just right for the winters. The packaging is similar to all lip crayons but this one does not have the twist up/down mechanism and it needs to be sharpened. The crayon has a plastic body and its color corresponds to the shade of lipstick inside it. The lid shuts tight and is of deep blue-black color. This makes it easy to carry around in the purse.

STRIKING ROSE (MIDDLE)

                       The fragrance is that of chameli ka tail (Jasmine Oil) but thankfully it fades off after 15-20 mins of application. The texture of this lip crayon is extremely soft & buttery and the consistency is that of a thick liquid lipstick. It is very pigmented and a single coat is enough for full coverage. This lip crayon in Striking Rose is glossy so I prefer not to use a gloss on top of this lip color. This particular shade stays on for a long time but does not survive a full meal. It fades off after 3-4 hours and leaves behind a beautiful pink stain. This lip crayon is easy to apply and travel friendly. You wouldn't need to add gloss on top of this shade as it is glossy all by itself. Ok this particular shade is not an everyday wear shade of lip color as it is a bold pink and it is not wearable for office/college, atleast for me.

SWATCH- ARTIFICIAL LIGHTING

                         I could use this lip crayon only thrice before the tip went blunt. Since its too soft, sharpening it is a pain and also a lot of product goes waste. My favorite Lakme Sharpener doesn't help as the crayon is a little thinner for the jumbo hole and a little thicker than the normal hole. So I had to get myself a brand new Oriflame Sharpener but I haven't given a trail. This lip crayon moisturises my lips and doesn't give that dehydrated-stretchy feel to my lips. You may or may not wear a lip balm underneath as this lip crayon does not accentuate the flakiness and deep lines of the lips if you have any. As I said earlier, the tip of this lip crayon is very soft you need to be careful while applying, a little too much pressure will break the tip. Once I left the lip crayon in Vibrant Almond in the car for 2 day, and later when I checked it... eewww it melted and the shape of the tip was disfigured. Therefore I don't think it would be a good idea to carry it in your bag.

Pros:

* Very soft & buttery, glides on lips with ease

* Highly pigmented

* Lasts for 4-5 hours and leaves behind a beautiful stain

* Easy to carry around & great for on-the-go touch-ups

* Moisturising and hydrating but does not bleeds

* Does not settles into the lines of lips

* Vibrant pink shade which will suit the festive mood

SWATCH- NATURAL LIGHTING

Cons:

* Sharpening this lip crayon is a pain as it is too soft

* I had to purchase Oriflame Sharpener as the crayon did not fit the standard jumbo or normal eye/lip pencil sharpener

* Melts like hell so think before carrying it in your purse



                  I rate Oriflame Lip Crayon in Striking Rose 4 out of 5. Its a bold but gorgeous shade of pink and should suit most Indian skin tones. If you purchase Oriflame Lip Crayons, make sure to ask for their sharpener as well. Recommended only to beauties who love to wear bold, bright and vibrant shades on their lips.

My Opinion:-
Everyone should have a couple of red lipsticks, specially for us Indians its a must. Its nearly winter and the festival season followed by the wedding season is here to stay for months. And then at the very right moment I got this lipstick named Red Rover from Lotus Herbals. They launched this shade in their newly launched Festive Glam Collection along with 4 other shades.



The packaging of this lipstick is classic red and gold and the fragrance is trademark Lotus Herbals fragrance. Its sleek enough to be carried in any purse and the red-gold combo inspires me to try a similar nailart if only someone tells me of a red that matches this lipstick's tube.



Red Rover is a versatile color for our festive occassions. Its a medium red with strong orange undertones and oodles of golden shimmer but shows up moderately on my lips. It is the kind of red which will definitely suit all Indian skin tones. This red is like the shade that the gypsys would love to wear. This shade is not very intense but it can be built up with a couple of swipes. I have worn it like a lip stain during the day and got a handful of compliments, all you need to do is just dab in on your lips and thats it.



For the night I apply it in 2 layers while setting in between with loose powder plus dabbing with a tissue. Also I feel that I dont really need extra gloss but that totally depends upon the wearer. You can top it up with clear gloss if you want and it looks very classy. This shade is so versatile that it goes well with my Indian traditional wear (lehenga, sari etc) and also does justice to my LBD. My friend suggested that wearing it with a white dress during the day will be a head turner look :P Well its not a everyday/office shade but its a perfect shade for me to enjoy my winter activities. This red is a must try for brides/to be.



The texture is similar to the older range of Moistpetal lipsticks. Its creamy and quite moisturising. Doesn't dry up my lips and also I can skip lip balm if I want to. It fades of evenly and leaves a slight stain on my lips. But the only problem with this lipstick, this shade in particular, is that when it fades only lots of shimmer is left behind dancing about on my lips, hence the name Red 'Rover' me thinks :P (Lame joke I know)



Pros:-
* Red Rover will suit most Indian skin tones
* Its the prettiest red I own, in fact the only other red I own is Avon Simply Pretty Cherry Red
* Lasts for upto 3 hours on my lips even after having light snacks
* Leaves behind a very light stain, doesn't leave my lips naked
* Light shade of red so It's good for girls who wants to try this color but are shy of using red

Cons:-
* The red could have been a little more intense (actually no cons )

I rate this Moistpetal Lipstick in Red Rover 4.5 out of 5. This lippie belongs to my fave Lotus Herbals Range of Moistpetals. This one is a must try for brides and girls to like to shiny away during the winter festivals/weddings etc. I would say that its a gem in my small (read growing) lipstick collection.

My Opinion:- All girls love their lipsticks and accumulate lots of the stuff. I am a little different when it comes to lipsticks. I pick up only nude kinda colors mostly and have only a few. But then I too have experimented with a few brands which I will let you know later. By now you all must be knowing about my little love affair with Avon products, this time it is the Perfect Wear Extralasting Lipstick in Lasting Cherry. Its a pretty reddish pink and I fell for it at first sight. This color is a little on the glossier side but its not shimmery.

                  Lasting Cherry is perfect for day time as well as night time wear. Its a creamy formula and glides on like a dream. A single coat is enough for full intensity. Blotted with a tissue it looks much like a lip stain but otherwise it is glossy. The color stays put on my lips till I myself remove it using a makeup remover, face washes dont wash this lippie off my lips. Its stays on for 5-6 hours easily and looks freshly applied. It fades off leaving a beautiful tint behind, doesnt make my lips stark naked ;) It does stain glasses and mugs but goes through a meal without bleeding or evaporating. I love the fact that it doesnt even bleed without a lip liner. Anh the best thing is that it doesnt melt in the heat inside my purse. The packaging is very sleek and can be carried in the tiniest of purses.

Pros:-

Creamy but doesn't melt in the heat

Glides-on on my lips like a dream

Stays on for about 6 hours before fading but leaves a lovely behind a lovely tint

Cons:-

Doesn't look freshly applied for more than 6 hours but that's OK

Colors are very different in the brochure, most of the colors are no where near the original shades

                    I rate this product 4 out of 5. Right now I am in love with this lippie, its so bright, so beautiful. Love it :D

                   A few common makeup tips which are often forgotten or ignored but makes a big difference if kept in mind.

* When lining your lips, fill up the whole lips with the lip pencil. It will work as a good base. If you just outline and don't fill in the color then after a couple of hours only the outline will stay.

* To make lipstick stay up for longer durations, apply the lipstick and then blot it with a tissue or dust a little loose powder over lips. Reapply your lipstick.

* When wearing dark eyes or smoky eyes apply pale nude shades of lipstick. Similarly wear deep lipstick with pale nude eyes.

* Eyebrows should be well groomed, never neglect or ignore them. If they are sparse fill in with a brow powder and give shape with a brush.

* Using an eyelash curler opens up the eyes. It makes the lashes look longer and eyes look bigger.

* Dust loose powder on your eyelashes before applying mascara to make them look thicker.

* For everyday makeup use neutral colors for the eyes. Pale shades like vanilla, sand and almond and mid shades like taupe, terracotta and peach look very flattering and soft.

* Best and most traditional way to apply blusher, even for novices, is to smile and place the blusher on the apple of the cheeks. Apply with a circular motion and then blend upward and outward. For a cream blusher use fingertips if you are not used to working with a brush.

* Always use a little foundation on your eyelids if you are not using wearing an eyeshadow. It will even out the skin and give your eyes a clean and fresh look. Set with a little loose powder using a big fluffy brush.

Cherry Red

My Opinion:- Red is a color which has always attracted me. I would always eye red shades in makeup, specially lippies and nail paints. So once again I bought a red lippie when Avon had an incredible offer going, the shade is Cherry Red- love the name. Now coming to my experience with the lippie, the first thing I noticed about it is that its highly pigmented. A single coat was enough for a super sexy red mouth- good that it suits me.

                    I applied this lippie a couple of times and was not very happy about its moisturising quality. It feels a little dry on my lips (my lips are dry and chapped in winter) when I apply it on my bare lips but using it over a little lip balm can correct this flaw. It gives full coverage and radiance as the company claims but I cant say anything about the satin finish claim :D




                      Yes the colors lasts up to hours and eating/drinking does not ruin it though it stains glasses/mugs. I didn't define my lips with a lip liner before applying this lipstick but it didnt feather or bleed- I like this quality in a lipstick. The lippie stays put till I remove it myself. Topping it up with a clear lip gloss gives a classic look which I can die for.

My Opinion:- I didn't buy this lippie intently, I got it as part of an offer. I chose the shade Mosaic Plum, a jewel tone, which is purple with red undertones. I applied it everyday for a week and was partially satisfied with it.

Mosaic Plum

            This is a highly pigmented lipstick and a single coat gives my lips enough intensity. It has very subtle shimmer- good for me because I hate too much of shimmer on my face except for highlighter/illuminator. It is moisturisng enough for my dry/chapped lips and stays put without bleeding on my lips for 4-5 hours if I don't eat/drink. But then it looses some of its shine after I eat/drink and yes it stains mugs/glasses when I drink from them.

             It is a little drying towards the end of 3-4 hours if I don't use a base or lip balm under it. A coat of clear gloss corrects the problem and reapplication is not necessary, in case I don't use a base etc. I have to line my lips or the lippie feathers out at the corners of my lips, so I need to line my lips before applying this lipstick. But that's not a problem with me because I can touch up at will and fix any such thing. The name color rich is perfect because the color is so rich and I am happy with this lippie. Only if it had SPF & it, it would have been a perfect lipstick for me.

Pros:- Highly pigmented, packaging is appealing, reasonably priced.

Cons :- Contains no SPF, stains glasses.

           
          I rate this product 3.5 out of 5 and I will try out some more shades as I am very happy with the high intensity color.

Ingredients:- Botanical Extracts of Symphytum, Officinale, Plantago Ovata Seed and Sambucus Nigra Seeds.

My Opinion:- I have been wearing it (161 Iced Coffee) each day since I bought it and its working so well for me. Its super moisturising and so hydrating, my lips needs these 2 things the most during the winters. I don't need to touch up if I use it on my primed lips, it stays fresh whole day. But mostly I have been using it on my bare lips and enjoying the benefits of the 'Botanical Extracts' on my lips.

          I didn't need to touch up after eating/drinking 3 times also. The color didn't fade but the freshly applied look was gone which is only obvious. At the end of the day I have to take it off with remover. It doesn't dry out my lips or makes them flaky because of its moisturising and hydrating properties.

          I am loving some of the Lotus products I had hauled recently and this lippie is one thing I am loving the most besides the Lotus Seduction Botanical Extracts Lip Gloss. The packaging is classy and I love the red tube so much. It has a mild floral scent and has stuble shimmer which is perfect for day wear.

          I rate this product 4.5 out of 5 and I am planning to get a some other shades of this lippie range. Right now I am in love with it :D
