My Opinion: - There have been a lot of Brands launching Tinted Moisturizers and called them BB Creams. Anyways, I was a little intrigued when our very own Lakme was sitting silently. And then one fine day they jumped a step ahead and launched the so-called CC Cream. But please don't be mistaken by the term 'CC' as in case of Lakme it is "Complexion Care" instead of the original concept of "Color Correcting" or "Color Control". Now coming back to the review of Lakme CC Cream, it comes boxed in a dark metallic pink cardboard box with the word Lakme in silver fonts. Inside the box rests the golden beige tube with a silver screw-on cap which makes the product travel safe, hygienic and easy to dispense. Its nearly a month I have been using it, but not on a daily basis. Here I am reviewing the Shade "Beige" which is good for fair to medium and suits me to the T. But I can tell you here itself that I am liking the product a lot. Read on to know why.....

               Now coming to the fragrance part, which is a big deal for me, I don't seem to like it a lot. I know the fragrance is typical Lakme scent which you would get in their sunscreens, some of the foundations and specially the Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Compact. But for some reason I am not liking the artificial kind of scent with a slight floral touch in this CC Cream. Thankfully this scent fades off upon application and totally goes off after a couple of minutes or so. The texture of this CC Cream is very creamy and thick looking but actually it is somewhere in between a cream and a lotion. The consistency is buttery, creamy and light-weight. Now blending it is very easy, apply it on dots all over face & neck and blend out with fingertips. Within seconds it is gone and my skin looks like it has nothing on it, it looks naturally even tone and beautiful.

                    I dare not apply my regular moisturizer underneath this CC Cream as it makes my skin oily in no time. I skip, though I know I should not, moisturizer and apply this cream all over my face & neck and spread with fingertips, not much blending is required, just spreading and patting with fingertips is enough to give my skin an even tone. It gives a semi-matte look at first but settles down to a more dewy kind of look. I layer this cream under my eyes, on uneven skin around my mouth and over the red pimples which are still sitting pretty on my face. Inspite of this layering it does not give that caked-up look instead gives that not-made-up look which we all want to achieve. This Cream minimizes the pores around my nose which I never expected from it. Apart from this, it hydrates well enough and since I have very oily skin I am not much liking this quality :P But dry to normal skin beauties will love this CC Cream for this very quality I suppose.

                   Coming to the staying power of this CC Cream, it stays on my skin the entire day without fading, disappearing or signs of blotchiness. But it makes my skin shiny as well greasy in about 4-5 hours when I am in Air-Conditioned environment and 2+ hours when I am in non-air condition environment. I have to use blotting sheets specially on my T-zone and dust my face with a translucent powder atleast twice a day, sometimes 3 times before I reach home from office. This CC Cream gives sheer to medium coverage and is buildable without the cakey look. It blurs out the spots and flaws and hides slight circles under my eyes but I have serious doubts that this CC Cream does not have the ability to cover up major flaws. It truly keeps the skin fresh looking through out the day but not without your dose of translucent powder. I use it on days when my skin looks good naturally and can do without a the coverage of a foundation and concealer. Also I donot need an extra layer of sunscreen on my face & neck since this cream comes with SPF 20 and mostly (90% of the time) I sit in my office. But if I had to travel or stay out in the sun for some reason and I would not skip my sunscreen.

Pros:

* Affordable & Easily Available

* Most claims are true (Protects, hydrates, brightens, freshens, even out the skin & conceals to some extent)

* Gives sheer to medium coverage

* Gives a not-made-up look, even after layer

* Does not cakes up

* Stays on my skin for the entire day, but with 2-3 times of re-touchings

* Blends like a dream

* Works so well when priced at Rs 250, that makes me happy

Cons:

* SPF is low at 20

* Makes my skin oily and I need to keep doing touch-ups

* I don't seem to like the fragrance, but that's only me

* Only 2 shades cannot do justice to all the beautiful warm Indian Skin Tones

* Comes off easily on anything it comes in contact with, say tissues, collars, cell phone screen etc

                   I rate Lakme CC (Complexion Care) Cream in Beige 4 out of 5 since the cons are not that serious. The texture of this cream will very well suit dry & normal skin but during these hot & humid summers it is not definitely for oilies like me. If like me you sit in the AC whole day, then also you would need  touch-ups if you are as conscious as me. There has been a lot of difference of opinion regarding the shades- "Beige" & "Bronze", so it is necessary to check the shades for yourself in the stores itself for a good match. Well girlies, go ahead and indulge in India's first CC Cream, at Rs 250 you have nothing much to lose.

Hope this review helped you in some way and do leave behind your sweet comments and also tell us about India's first CC Cream. Thank you and have an awesome Sunday :)

**Vitabeads are composed of Vitamin E,C & B3 to lighten skin tone**

Usage: Wet face. Apply the mask evenly on your face & neck & allow it to dry.Rinse off with water and pat dry.

Face Mask Contains Iodine.

My Opinion: - Following yesterday's Lakme Fresh Fairness Face Wash & Scrub, today I will wrap up the Fresh Fairness Clean Up Regime with the last product in the line up- the Face Mask. The packaging is a pretty pink tube with opalescent screw-on cap which is very safe to travel with. I have used and carried along this mask with me many a times. It is a not so thick very pale pink creamy mask which is very soft and buttery in texture. To me it looks like a mixture of cream and lotion, does not feel like a clay mask as it is so light.

                       Coming to the fragrance part, I have hated the the scent this range carries. Its kind of artificial floral with that bleach kind of smell, for me its unpleasant but not unbearable. This mask is easy to apply and I usually apply it with fingers and it applies evenly without effort. It takes time to dry, atleast 12-15 mins. I use this mask after I use the Fresh Fairness Scrub and this gives me soft and smooth skin after washing off. This mask washes of easily and a little rubbing is enough to clean it off completely. It leaves a kind of oily/silky film over the surface of the skin which evaporates after I pat my skin dry.

                         This Fresh Fairness Mask in combination with the scrub has de-tanning properties, it has taken off a slight tan from my skin which makes me love this mask. This mask thankfully does not whitens my skin but brightens and and gives a radiant after glow. But of-course all the effects are temporary and too short lived for my or anyone's liking. This mask is not that kind of oil controlling mask but upon washing off and patting dry my skin is oil free for quite some time and it also does not make my skin greasy or shiny. But as claimed by the brand, I did not see any pore tightening, this is false.

Pros: -

* Affordable & Easily Available

* De-tans in combination with the scrub

* Makes my skin bright & not white

* Gives me soft, smooth & radiant skin

* Easy to apply & Easy to wash off

* Suitable for all skin types specially in summer

Cons: -

* Same Artificial floral scent with bleach smell :/

* Takes time to dry

* Contains Parabens

                      I rate Lakme Fresh Fairness Clean Up Face Mask 4 out of 5. This is the best product in this range and therefore I give it a 4. Now I am not using it as I have pimples on my face and using the Clear Pores Clean Up Range. Inspite of the cons, specially the unpleasant scent I give it 4 as it has de-tanning properties as claimed by the brand. And also this mask like the wash & scrub did not give that much hated fake white look to the skin. This mask will truly suit all skin types in summers.

Hope this review helped you in some way and do leave behind your sweet comments and also share with us your experience with Face Masks. Thank you and have a great evening ahead :)

LAKME FRESH FAIRNESS CLEAN UP FACE SCRUB- REVIEW

With Vitabeads

50g for INR 110

Lakme Says: - Salon-Like* Clean-Up Now Everyday At Home!
# Its Vitabeads & natural exfoliants are known to unclog pores to help remove blackheads, dead cells & excess oil for deeply clean, fresh & fair skin.

#Professional Tip: Use the complete 3 STEP Lakme Fresh Fairness CLEAN UP  regularly.

Refers to basic products used in salon clean ups

Your skin is currently shedding cells, which leads to a build-up of dead cell and dull-looking skin. Scrub your face with Lakme Clean-up Fresh Fairness Face Scrub that exfoliates dead cells and removes excess oil. Enriched with Vitabeads, walnut shell powder and apricot extracts, it helps unclog pores, remove blackheads and restore your skin's fairness.(Taken from Lakme Website)

**Vitabeads are composed of Vitamin E,C & B3 to lighten skin tone**

Usage: Wet face. Take a generous amount and gently massage for 2-5 minutes in circular motion with fingertips avoiding the eye contour. Rinse thoroughly with water and pat dry.

Caution: Avoid contact with eyes. In case of eye contact rinse thoroughly with clear water.

Ingredients: - Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Walnut Shell Powder, Cocoamidopropyl Betaine, Glycery Stearate, Propylene Glycol, Zea Mays (Corn) Kernel Meal, PEG 100 Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Polysorbate-60, Acetylated Lanolin Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide, Perfume, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Glycerin, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Fruit Extract, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Niacinamide, CI 17200, PPG-2, Methyl Ether, Phenethyl Alcohol, DMDM, Hydantoin, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone.

My Opinion: - After the Face Wash, now comes the scrub. The packaging is same pretty pink tube with opalescent screw-on cap and so I can carry it along while travelling without the risk of spillage or mess. The fragrance is fake floral but mild. I somehow associate it with bleach, I don't know why. The scrub is a thick creamy paste with medium sized granules which are not very abrasive but not very smooth either. The scrub is a milky pink in color and loaded with walnut shell and corn meal particles. This is not the scrub that sensitive skin ladies can use, and if at all you use, use it once a week. I myself being an oily factory don't use it more than once in 5-6 days. This one will be loved by ladies who love their scrub to be a bit on the abrasive side.

                            I squeeze out a big medium sized blob on the back of my palm and apply dots all over my wet face and neck. Then I gently begin to massage with circular motion all over with fingertips giving the least possible pressure. If you apply too much pressure it is harsh on your skin and if you massage gently it will not harm and redden your skin. This scrub is easy to wash off and the skin looks fresh and radiant after I pat it dry. It doesn't give that horrid stretchy after feel some scrubs/washes give. I always make it a point to follow it up with the Fresh Fairness Clean Up Mask.

                        This Scrub removes  excess oil, dead cells and dirt from the surface of the skin, thereby giving a radiant look. This scrub in combination with the mask has removed a bit of the slight tan I have on me now. The only thing I hate about this scrub apart from the scent is the fake temporary fairness it gives to my skin. It is horrible but it goes away after 30-45 mins or so. This scrub does not remove blackheads as claimed by the brand but I can tell you people that no scrub can remove blackheads, specially the stubborn ones.

                       This scrub apart from giving me wanted fake kind of fairness, also makes my skin soft and smooth. Immediately after washing it off, this scrub gives that fresh and clean feel to my skin. But this scrub needs to be used with caution. Use it for not more than 2-3 mins and with the gentlest pressure possible. Or it would give you red, splotchy and irritated skin. Also it is not safe enough to use during breakouts and hence I have stopped using it now since I have ugly pimples sitting on my face now (they are drying :D). There is nothing special about this scrub but overall a not bad either.

Pros: -

* Affordable & Easily Available

* Contains Vitabeads, Apricot Extracts, Walnut Shell Powder, all sounds impressive

* Screw-on packaging makes is travel safe

* Scrub particles are medium sized and not very harsh on the skin

* Has de-tanning capabilities when used in combination with the mask from the same range, which I always do

* Makes my skin soft & smooth

* Gives radiant glow and fresh-clean feel

Cons: -

* Fake floral scent with bleach like smell

* Fake & temporary fairness

* Not suitable for sensitive skin but Lakme claim its suitable for "All skin types"

                    I rate Lakme Fresh Fairness Clean Up Face Scrub 3.75 out of 5 as it needs to be used with caution. A scrub with no
specialty, a bit more pressure or a minute more can give you an irritated skin with red patches. But if you are sure to use it carefully and you are a fan of Walnut scrubs then go ahead and indulge yourself. Or simply find yourself another one as there is no dearth of good scrubs in the market.

Hope this review helped you in some way. Thank you for reading this review and please do leave behind your experience with Scrubs. Have a great time ahead :)
