How to Use: - As your weekly haircare regime, apply a palmful and massage onto freshly cleansed hair concentrating from the middle to the ends. Leave for at least 3-5 minutes for best results. Rinses out easily.

My Opinion: - Since I started blogging and reading the wonderful reviews written by my co-bloggers, I have become very conscious about the health and look of my hair. I remember using a hair mask by Oriflame years back and loved it, sorry I don’t remember the name now. I was more than happy to receive this Dove hair mask from Indibloggers.  It comes in a white plastic tub which is kind of triangular in shape, the lid is screw on type and it does not have a protective shield to prevent the mask to come on to the lid if overturned. That makes it difficult to carry along in my travels but otherwise the lid clicks shuts tight and is perfectly travel-friendly. Dipping my fingers in the tub might contaminate the mask so I like tube packaging better.

                     Coming to the fragrance part this hair mask is sweet, mild and very feminine, the trademark Dove fragrance that we all seem to like. The consistency is very thick & creamy like body butter and the texture is soft like butter. This pale yellowish mask should be used once a week and I don’t use it as advised by the company. Well I have tried it as per their directions but I am more comfortable using it my own way. In winters, I take dollops of the hair mask and massage onto my scalp, down the length of my hair until my roots. Then I wrap a hot towel around my head and change for another hot towel as soon as the first towel is cold, I repeat this process as required. But in summers, I tie my hair into a pony tail, ofcoursre after shampooing my hair. Then the apply the mask on the pony tail alone :D I may or may not wrap a hot towel around my head, it depends on my mood, time etc

                    I have used this mask in a couple of ways, after shampooing and conditioning on towel dried hair as the rule says it; secondly after shampooing on towel dried hair without using conditioner and lastly on my wet- towel dried hair without shampooing. But I always follow the deep conditioning treatment with towel therapy. The first and last option works well for me in the winters when my scalp as well as hair is a little dry than normal. And the 2^nd option works in summers/hot days.

                     This hair mask deep conditions my hair and makes it soft and shiny. The don’t have to use a serum/detangler or any other potion for that matter as my hair is extremely manageable and smooth after using this mask. This effect stays on for a week at the most and by then it’s time to use the mask again. I fall in love with my hair every week for a couple of days after using this hair mask. I wouldn’t say this is the best mask/treatment I have ever used but certainly it’s one of the best. I am on my 2nd tub now, hope that says it all.

Pros: -

* Suits my hair condition well, hair ends are no more dry after its regular use

* Affordable I would say, Rs 300 for 200 ml which is a good amount of product, not much is needed for a single use so takes about 2-2.5 months to get over

* Makes my hair manageable, soft and shiny and also controls frizz to quite an extent

* Does not make my scalp itchy when I apply it directly on my scalp

* I don’t need to use a serum/detangler after using this hair mask on my hair

* Contains coconut oil, sunflower seed oil & sweet almond oil in the form of vita oils which is very beneficial for the hair

Cons: -

* Contains Paraben

* Slips off my wet palms when it apply it on the length of my hair

* Tube packaging would have been better

                             I rate this Dove Damage Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Weekly Vita Oil Repair Mask 4.5 out of 5. I am on my second tub which is also about to get over now. I recommend this to girls with dry, normal as well as combination hair but girls with oily hair might get to see limpness in a couple of days after use, also might get a greasy scalp if care it not taken to apply below crown.

Method of Use: - Pour a few drops of water into the ready to use hair pack and stir well. Apply all over scalp and leave on for 45 minutes. Wash thoroughly with plain water. Use Jovees Henna and Ginseng Shampoo next day for washing the hair.

Active Ingredients: - Palasbeej, Bhringraj, Jatamansi, Amla

Shelf life: - Best before 3 years from the date of mfg.

My Opinion: - This is one product that I have repurchased over and over again and I confess that I can’t do without it. This hair pack comes in bright green plastic tube with a screw on lid. The tube needs to be shaken well before dispensing the paste otherwise a lot of unwanted liquid comes out of the nozzle. The texture of the hair pack is very gritty/grainy. It is not very thick and not even runny as well. The fragrance of this pack is very herbal with strong henna and amla smell. To me it looks and smells like some chawanprash :P :D Nothing bad or good about the fragrance, people using henna will surely like it.

                           I shake the tube vigorously and squeeze out some paste in a glass bowl and add a little water to it, mix well and apply on my scalp/hair roots either with fingertips or a brush. The best part about this hair pack is that it can be applied on my dry scalp/hair root. Most packs must be applied on wet hair and this is a problem in the winters. I wrap my hair in a towel drenched in hot water and I leave it on for about an hour and wash off with plain water. As recommended I shampoo my hair next day and not immediately after using the hair pack. It takes time in rinsing out the pack from my hair and if not washed properly, then you might have bits of brown dust falling on your shoulders and back.

                               This hair pack leaves my hair soft and shiny after each use and its effect lasts for about 7 to 10 days, therefore I use it every 10 days on my hair. It controls frizz and also reduces oil on my scalp, my scalp is oily and roots dry. This hair pack does not dry out my scalp but makes it less oily than its normal state. It’s easy to style and manage my hair for the next few days after using this hair pack. My hair looks and feels better after each use, maybe this is psychological or maybe it’s for real. The only problem I have with this hair pack is that the company does not declare all the ingredients in the tube, ok that’s a common problem with most companies so never mind.

RESEMBLES HENNA PASTE

Pros: -

* Can be used on dry hair, that’s the biggest plus point

* Affordable and easily available

* 1 tube lasts for 3-3.5 months; I use this hair pack every 10 days

* Makes my hair manageable, soft & shiny after each use

* Does not itch or irritate my scalp

* Controls the oiliness of my scalp, but does not make it dry

* Can’t say a word about the regrowth and premature greying control claims, but it does revitalize my hair as claimed

* Tube packaging is hygienic as well as travel friendly

Cons: -

* The company says its ready to use but actually you have to mix in a little water. (Curd & milk is also suggested by the Jovees SA) Cannot be used directly from the tube

* Full ingredient list is not available; well that’s not actually a con

* Needs a lot of rinsing or some residue is left behind

  

                            I rate this Jovees Regrowth & Revitalising Ready To Use Hair Pack 4.75 out of 5. I love this hair pack as it suits my hair/scalp to the T and gives me soft shiny locks, though I apply only on my scalp. A must try for all the hair care freaks, try it out atleast once and I don’t think you will regret it.

Hw ru doing? I too have rough n dry hair n moreover we r not allowed to use eggs at home . So i can't follow any of urs egg based hairpack. So do send me an alternate to the same. Also as u mentioned that dry hair should not be washed by using a detergent based shampoo, do suggest a good shampoo for me. I reside in New Delhi India. Warm Regards

Fading spot and freckles-Though kirti didn't let me know her skin type..assuming that she has dry skin taking into consideration her hair type, a nourishing pack is what she needs. Take 5-6 almonds and soak in a little milk overnight. Next morning grind to a paste the almonds with the milk and add a little thick milk cream. Apply on your face and neck, leave it on for 20-30 mins and gently scrub off. Wash off and pat dry. Repeat thrice a week for good results. This treatment nourishes the skin, softens it and gradually fades out the spots and freckles.

Caring for rough and dry hair- 

Oiling:- Oil your hair atleast twice a week with brahmi amla hair oil. Wrap a hot towel around your head much like a turban, repeat 2-3 times.
 
Nourishing Hair Pack- Taking into consideration the length of your hair take 2/3 bananas and mash them well. Add 1/2 tbsp of thick milk cream and mix well. Apply this pack on moist hair and keep on for 30-40 mins. Wash off with plain water and then shampoo off, use a mild herbal shampoo or make 1 at home.

Homemade Shampoo:- Soak a handful of soapnut in hot water overnight, next morning mash them, sieve and use the resultant liquid to shampoo off your hair. Its a non lathering shampoo- remember it and be very gentle with your hair.
