My Opinion: - I was chosen by BlogAdda to review Olay Total Effects 7 in One  Cream + Serum Duo. I received it about 10-12 days back and today I am reviewing it. I have been using Olay Total Effects 7 in One Day Cream with a touch of Foundation SPF 15 and liking it a lot, I can best describe it as a light-weight Tinted Moisturiser. So I was very enthusiastic about using this Cream + Serum. The packaging is a convenient cylindrical see through  plastic can with a black pump dispenser and a golden collar around the pump. The cap is clear plastic and it closes with a click which means it is safe to be carried around in my purse. But I would prefer a normal tube packaging over a pump dispenser as these have backfired on me :/

                         The fragrance is mild but sweet, kind of floral which I don't think will irritate sensitive noses. The texture is soft and creamy and the consistency is that of a light-weight cream. I was skeptical when I pumped out the cream for the first time, it looked very thick and heavy. But to my surprise, this Olay Cream + Serum is light on my skin and does not make my skin oily or greasy, on the contrary it gives a velvety glow to my skin. In air-conditioned environment my skin looks fresh for about 5-6 hours but in a non air-conditioned environment my skin feels a little greasy and gets shiny after about 4 hours, so I can say this cream fairs well on my oily skin. This cream + serum contains SPF 15 which is quite low but that's also an added advantage for many lazy people.

                      I wash my face with a face wash, then I use a toner and then I use this cream + serum on my face on dots, just a single pump is enough for my face and neck. I massage it gently on my skin and it easily spreads and get absorbed into my skin in a couple of minutes, this cream  serum does not sit on top of my skin. I use a foundation/bb cream on top of it after say 5 mins but at times I just wear this cream + serum alone with a light dusting of loose powder. Ofcourse I have to touch up post lunch but that's it. I sweat profusely upon applying this cream but it gets absorbed into my skin, the sweating is gone and my skin feels smooth and silky to the touch (no I am not a Narc :P and don't keep touching my face). This cream is easily to blend into the skin and one full pump is what is required for my face and neck. So I think this meager quantity of 20 gms will last me 30-40 days. The best thing about this cream + serum is that it works well as a makeup base. Foundation glides over it like a dream, blends well and gives a flawless finish. A cheap makeup base since it also minimizes the ugly pores around my nose and cheeks.

THE SWATCH- ONE PUMP ONLY

                          Now coming to its 7 claims, 1. fine lines and wrinkles- fortunately I don't have any, so comments, 2. uneven tone- not sure since I am using it since 10-12 days but surely it brightens up the skin, 3. age spots- again no comments since I do not have age spots but I have pimple marks which might fade out with regular use over a longer period of time, 4. uneven texture- gives velvety smooth skin <3, 5. dryness- works as a great moisturiser, gives the required moisture to my oily skin <3, 6. dullness- gives a radiant glow upon application <3, 7. pores- I love how it diminishes my ugly pores <3 and on top of these 7 benefits, it works very well as a makeup base/primer, it way cheaper than bases/primers and the best thing about this cream is that it didn't break me out <3<3<3





Pros:


* Affordable and Easily Available

* Fragrance is sweet and mild

* Gives required moisture to the skin

* Minimizes pores effectively

* Gives a velvety glow to the skin

* Gives a smooth and silky feel

* Brightens up the skin upon application

* A single pump is enough for my full face and neck, hence 20 gm will last me a good 30-40 days

* Works very well as a makeup base

* The packaging is much bigger compared to the contents (20 gms)

* Didn't give me breakouts :)

* Might not provide adequate moisture for dry skin beauties

               I rate Olay Total Effects 7 in One Cream + Serum Duo 4.25 out 5, it's a  good moisturiser and suits my skin well. Didn't break me out and I love the off-white and yellow marbleized pattern the cream and serum creates inside the see through plastic can. Recommended to beauties who appreciate a soft and smooth skin

My Opinion: - I have already reviewed Garnier Pureactive Neem Face Wash and Garnier Light Eye Roll On and today I am here to review Garnier Light Daily Moisturiser SPF 15. Lets come to the packaging first, this day cream comes in a beautiful yellow plastic jar with a white plastic screw on lid. Upon opening the jar there is no stopper or protective lid to prevent the cream from coming in contact with the lid, it will surely become messy while travelling. So I did not carry it while travelling last week. Also I would prefer a tube packaging over this jar.

                The fragrance is very mild lemony which disappears a few mintues after application. I would not say the fragrance is great or something but it is bearable. The texture is creamy but not greasy or oily and the consistency is thick. This day cream comes with SPF 15 which is a plus point and I don't need to slather on another product (sunscreen) on my face.

               I wash my face with Garnier PureActive Neem Face Wash and use a little amount of cream just enough for my face and neck. If I tend to add   more cream to ensure even application on my face and neck then it balls up giving a very untidy/dirty look. It gives a white cast which can be seen very clearly. This cream is easy to spread and sits on my skin, doesn't prenetrate my skin. This cream takes time to seep into my skin.

               This cream keeps my skin oil free and that it the biggest advantage of this product. In an air-conditioned environment, it keeps my skin shine-free for many hours but in a non air-conditioned environment this cream gives me a shiny look after 2-2 1/2 hours but nothing my Lakme Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Compact can't take care of. The very first day I thought the shine is because of greasiness but I was wrong, its just shine and not greasy-ness. Now one big problem is that is leaves a visibly white cast on my skin which vanishes after about 30-45 mins.

  
               This Garnier Light Daily Moisturiser is truly moisturising but beauties with dry skin please stay away as it is a dry type of cream suitable for "oilies" like me. I do not know how it would behave in the peak of summers. This cream is extremely affordable and I am using for more than a month now but I didn't break out or had any skin problems because of it. This cream will be with me for around 1 more month as a very little is required for each use. It does not acts as a good base as most foundations are a little difficult to blend when using this cream.

Pros: -


* Affordable and Easily Available

* Comes with SPF 15

* Moisturises my skin

* Very little is required for each application

* Keeps my skin grease-free

* Fragrance is mild lemony which should not irritate sensitive noses as well

* Contains Vitamin C, Long Dan Extract and Glycerin which are all great news for skin



Cons: -


* Balls up if a little more is used than normally required

* Takes time to sink into my skin, sits on top

*  Gives artificial whitish look upon application which vanishes with time


* Skin type is not mentioned anywhere, its not for dry/normal skin types

* Contains Parabens (though I am paranoid about Parabens some people hate the very word)



                I rate Garnier Light Daily Moisturiser SPF 15 3.75 out of 5. I will definitely finish off this jar but I will never repurchase it. I request dry skin people to stay away. If you have oily skin and you stay at home mostly than do give it a try. I like Garnier as a brand and I must say I am disappointed with  this daily moisturiser.

My Opinion: - A day cream with SPF is a great time saver. So I usually choose day creams with atleast SPF 15. I have been using a lot of day creams from Avon and hence I decided to try some other brands. This time I chose Lotus Herbals Whiteglow Skin Whitening & Brightening Gel Crème SPF 25/PA+++, the “Gel Crème” thingy sounded very nice for my oily skin. This cream come boxed in white with the image of a bunch of green grapes. Inside the carton, the glass tub/jar is sitted on a plastic tray to hold the jar/tub in place. The packaging is good looking; it’s a frosted glass jar with a shiny silver screw on lid. Upon opening the main lid, a plastic protective lid is found which protects the cream from coming in contact with the main lid. This jar/tub being made of glass needs to be handled carefully and is also a bit heavy. But then otherwise its travel-friendly.

                          This cream is white somewhere in between a gel and a cream; hence Lotus Herbals aptly calls it “Gel Crème”. It is light enough for oily skin since it is water based. This cream gives the skin a cool feeling when applied and just a small quantity is required. This cream spreads well on my skin as claimed by the company but sadly sits on top of my skin if I don’t work on it for a minute or so. Only massaging can make it absorb into the skin. It gives a matt look to my skin immediately after I have applied it and in a non air-condition environment it makes my skin sweat. But in an air-conditioned environment this cream stays on matte without any sweating. The fragrance of this cream is similar to the other products of this range. It has a milky touch to it, nothing heavy or nauseating.

                           This gel crème gives a nice fresh feeling to my skin and controls oil for an hour or two. But in AC my face remains somewhat matte throughout the day. This cream moisturises my skin well but does not make it greasy. It’s a good base for makeup, and I sometimes apply foundation over it with good results; but generally I am used to applying powder (loose/compact) and a bit of blusher/bronzer on my face over this crème. This crème makes my skin bright and smooth after each application. It adds softness and suppleness to my skin. The plus point is that this crème contains SPF so I don’t have to use extra sunscreen along with it. Also this crème contains a number of natural ingredients which makes it all the more attractive.

Pros: -

* Contains SPF 25

* Gel based cream makes it great for oily skin/combination skin

* Light weight formula gives adequate moisture to my skin but doesn’t make it oily

* Controls oil for an hour or two, can be fixed with a oil-blotting paper & a face powder

* Ingredient list is attractive with a number of natural additions

* A little cream is needed for each use and hence this 60 gms tub/jar will see me through 2+ months with regular use

Cons: -

* Lotus Herbals product contains PARABENS

* Makes me sweat when I am out in the sun or in a non AC environment

* Company claims that it is suitable for All Skin Types but I doubt its effect on dry skin

             I rate this Lotus Herbals Whiteglow Skin Whitening & Brightening Gel Crème SPF 25/PA+++ 4 out of 5. It makes me sweat in a non AC environment/in the sun but stays good in AC environment. Suits my oily skin so well but dry skin people please check it out at a store by swatching before you purchase.

My Opinion: - I have been using this since the onset of the hot days. Before this, I used the Maximum MoistureDay Cream which worked for me well in the winters. So I bought this from my Avon representative and used it daily with good results. The packaging is very basic, a heavy glass jar with a white plastic screw-on lid. There is also another protective transparent plastic lid which prevents the cream to come in contact with the main lid. The fragrance is like hair gel and fades off after few mins of application.

                            It looks like a heavy cream but its light weight and does not make my skin greasy. It gets absorbed into my skin in a few seconds and blends properly as well. It acts as a good base for foundation and makeup. This cream does not give my face a shiny appearance and also it does not make me sweat after application. This day cream contains SPF 20 and PA++ which gives adequate protection when I am indoors. This day cream also contains grape fruit extract ( anti-wrinkle, anti-inflamatory, anti-axidant), Vitamin C, Saxifraga Sarmentosa  and Morus Nigra (both skin conditioners) and Scutellaria Baicalensis (anti-fungal, antioxidative, anti-inflamatory & anti-allergic).

                              This day cream stays on for many hours and does not melt with the sweat, though in an ac environment it behaves very well but it does come off when I use a tissue. It leaves behind a white cast and makes me look like a ghost in photographs. That is the major problem I have faced with this cream. Also it gets transferred on to the cell phone screen if I am not in ac. The packaging being heavy creates problem in carrying it around with me, well that’s only when I carry those clutches with me.

Pros: -

BLENDED IN ARTIFICIAL LIGHTING

• Suits my oily skin
• Can’t say about fairness but it adds a glow to my skin
• Not greasy or heavy on the skin
• Does not make me sweat after application
• Gets absorbed well into the skin

                            I rate this Avon Solutions a.m. Refined White Day Cream SPF 20/PA++ 3.75 out of 5. I recommend this to girls with combination to oily skin, but beware of getting photographed while wearing this cream. Also if not blended properly or too much quantity is applied, then also it gives white cast-y look which is not commendable.
