AVON GLIMMERSTICKS DIAMOND EYE LINER- BLACK ICE & TWILIGHT SPARKLE- SWATCHES, EOTD & REVIEW

Company Says: -
Define eyes with a bold, glamorous

Sparkle pearls adds shine and dimension by catching light for a fun, flirty look

Longwearing, smudge-proof shades glideon smooth and keep the glimmer going with all-day drama…. or night-time glamour!

Ingredients: - Not Listed

Available in 7 shades: -

* Black Ice – Black with silver/holographic sparkles

* Twilight Sparkle – Deep blue with bright blue sparkles

* Smoky Diamond – Dark grey with silver sparkles

* Emerald Glow- Dark/almost blackish green with green & silver sparkles

* Flashy Copper - Golden sparkly brownish copper

* Golden Diamond – Yellowish gold with gold sparkles

* Sparkling Silver - Steel grey with silver sparkles

My Opinion: - Eye pencils add a pop of color to the eyes, giving a very attractive look. These eye pencils pick you up on a bad day. I prefer using these in all possible shades but blacks and blues are an all-time favorite. Today I am reviewing 2 eye liner pencils from Avon, one of my favorite brands. One is Black Ice and the other is Twilight Sparkle. The packaging is a slim black plastic pen look-alike, retractable which makes it travel/purse friendly. I never use these eye liners on my waterline since the sparkles in them might irritate my eyes, I use them only on my upper as well as lower lash lines.

NATURAL LIGHT

These eye liner pencils are like dry crayons and are not creamy at all but they glide on the eyelids with much ease. They are perfect for thick lines as well as cat eyes but the rounded tip makes it impossible to create thin lines. The self-sharpening bit is a big lie but that is not a big drawback, since I use the tiny little sharpener from my Lotus Herbals Eye Pencil to get a pointed tip if required. The pigmentation is medium, not bad but not very good either. About 2-3 swipes are necessary for a dark noticeable line, they don’t tug or pull my eyelids and glide on with much ease.  The fact that these eye liner pencils are retractable, saves the pain of sharpening them which avoids the wastage of valuable product.

ARTIFICIAL LIGHT

Black Ice is a lighter shade of black with silver as well as holographic sparkles. These sparkles are not OTT or gritty and I use this particular shade for the day as well as night. This shade is not an intense black but sober enough for all the black eye liner-lovers. The second shade is Twilight Sparkle which is a true deep blue, almost tilting towards black, with oodles of bright blue sparkles. These sparkles are a bit on the gritty side but still I wouldn’t call them OTT. They can safely be worn during the day as well but I make it sure never to wear this shade to office. During the night it looks awesome and adds drama to the eyes. Both shades can be worn as eye shadow if smudged well before they get set.

GLITTER/SHIMMER STILL REMAINS AFTER WASHING OFF

The lasting power of these both shades is amazing, they stay whole day/night, until I choose to remove them. They don’t even melt after sweating and stay intact without a single smudge or smear but the sparkles travel all over the eyelids. I have very oily lids and I generally use a primer before applying any eye makeup but these eye liners stay put on my lids even without a primer or any other base. Now coming to removing/cleaning off these eye liners, it’s a chore I would say. These needs to be cleaned off with an eye makeup remover, but still the sparkles stay on even after washing off the face with a foaming cleanser. I have tried all types of cleanser but failed to remove all traces of sparkles. I can clearly see sparkles all over my eye-area the next day also :P

Pros: -

* Long-lasting, smudge-proof formula

* Does not tug/pull the eyelids even if they are not creamy

* Sweat-proof & Water-proof

* Retractable slim pen packaging makes it travel/purse friendly

* On discounts, they are a steal (very affordable)

* Self-sharpening avoids wastage

* 7 stunning shades available

Cons: -

 * Difficult to remove/clean off the sparkles

* This range lacks a basic brown shade (I hate them for this)

I rate these Avon Glimmersticks Diamonds Eye Lines in Black Ice & Twilight Sparkle, 4.75 out of 5. These are my go to eye liner pencils; especially the Black Ice and I love them truly when it comes to the staying power. I miss a proper brown shade in this range (greedy me :P). I recommend these eye liner pencils to all eye makeup lovers.

My Opinion: - Eye liner pencils are an easy and quick way to perk up your look. I love to use colored pencil liners to add zing to my eyes and pick me up. I love to play with a multitude of colors and hence I bought a pink and a white eye liner pencil from Maybelline. These pencils are made of plastic and I would call them eye crayons. They are slim pencils with transparent plastic caps; also the color of the shade is denoted at the back of each pencil. They are easy to sharpen and easier to carry around.

The eye liner pencils are creamy and I always fear that the tips might break but that has never happened till date. Because of this creaminess and softness, the tips don’t come out very pointed after sharpening. They glide on my eye lids very well without pulling or tugging. The pigmentation is not very good but it’s not bad either. I bought the white pencil solely for my waterline but it cannot be used there without sticking to my lower lashes and gives a gross look. So I use it as base for my eye makeup and the shadows come out more vivid and stay on for longer durations.

NATURAL LIGHT

The white pencil is silvery with very finely milled multi shimmer and the pink pencil is also infused with finely milled shimmer. I love both shades and use them as eye shadow or eye shadow base as well. These pencils last for about 5 hours in an air-conditioned environment and after that it starts fading off but does not leave my eyes stark naked. The pencils do not smudge and crease, they stay on even during the summers (sweating). Therefore I would like to call them waterproof as well as water-resistant. I never went ahead with other shades from this line of eye pencils. But they are decent enough to be used as eye shadow base.

WITH FLASH

Pros: -

Creamy and soft eye pencils

Does not smudge or crease

Does not tug or pull my eye lids

Easily available and affordable too

Cons: -

Difficult to sharpen

The tips might break sometimes as the pencils are very soft and creamy

Names of shade is not mentioned on the pencils

ARTIFICIAL LIGHT

I rate Maybelline Vivid and Smooth Liner By Eyestudio 3.75 out of 5. The ingredients are not listed and also the shade names are not mentioned on the pencils and this fact puts me off. Overall they are okayish eye pencils with decent pigmentation. I would not recommend this product as you can buy better eye pencils (Faces) for nearly the same amount of money.

Hope you enjoyed my review, do leave behind your precious comments and share with us experiences with Eye Pencils. Thank you and have a nice time :)

ORIFLAME BEAUTY EYE INTENSITY PENCIL (SILVER PRUNE & CHARCOAL GREY)- SWATCHES & REVIEW

1 gm for INR 239

Company Says:- Creamy, Sharpenable eye definer with advanced silicone technology that delivers exceptional glidability and blend. 7 hour smudge-proof once set.

Ingredients:- Not Listed

Available in 6 gorgeous shades :-
Intense Black
Navy Blue
Chestnut Brown
Precious Green
Silver Prune
Charcoal Grey

My Opinion:-
I am sucker for eye pencils and keep hauling them every now and then. The good thing about eye pencils is they brighten up the eyes instantly. Today I am going to share my opinion about Oriflame Eye Intensity Pencils, I got Silver Prune and Charcoal Grey. Both these pencils are well pigmented but I hear the Black 1 is most pigmented out of the fleet.

These pencils are made in Switzerland and has a shelf life of 2 years. Outer coloring is purplish blue with transparent purplish cap. The pencils are very creamy and hence would finish off very soon. Its easy to sharpen up the pencils with any sharpener (Lakme, Avon, Oriflame). Since the pencils are very creamy, the tips tend to break if I sharpen too much by mistake. Also I need to sharpen every time I want to use it because it goes blunt after a single use. This is 1 reason it will get used up very soon.

The lasting power is very good at around about 5 hours once it sets, though I disagree with the 7 hours claim. Also this 1 is smudge proof if you keep your eyelids hands free zones. I have oily lids and maybe that's the reason it doesn't stay for 7 hours but I think it may stay that long on girls with dry (non-oily) eyelids. But then when I set it with a similar color eye shadow, it crosses that 7 hours claim.I have never used on my waterline and so I cant say a word about the effects.

Taking it off is pretty easy, face wash and water is enough and ofcourse an eye makeup remover cleans it off with a single swipe. These pencils are creamy plus sticky so they stay on for long. But after the 5 hours they just fade off a little and doesn't smudge much. The good thing about these pencils is that they don't leave you with stark naked eyes.
Tip becomes blunt after single application

Pros:-
* Creamy so they glide on easily without tugging and pulling my lids

* Pigmentation is good enough though not superb

* Stays on for long- 5 hours and if set with shadow it stays on longer and smudge free

* Price is okayish taking into account eye pencils from other brands but wait for discounts and get it for cheap

* Very easy to take it off, face wash and water is enough

Cons:-
* Ingredients not listed

* Not available in the open market

I rate this Oriflame Eye Intensity Pencil 4.5 out of 5 (-.25 for breakage of tips while sharpening and -.25 for needing to sharpen every time I want to use it). This is 1 product from Oriflame I am totally in love with, must haves for all girls who can lay their hands on Oriflame products.

LAKME GLIDE ON EYE PENCILS- SWATCHES & REVIEW

LAKME GLIDE ON EYE PENCILS- SWATCHES & REVIEW
1 Pencil for INR 275 (maybe :P)

Company Says:- Crushed gemstones sprinkled with the brilliance of precious metals.
For eyes that reflect the stars.

Available in 7 shades:-
Aqua Green
Iridescent Blue
Metallic Black
Peacock Green
Plush Purple
Smoky Green
Warm Copper

My Opinion:- Eye pencils can give a pop to the eyes in no time. A dash of color can liven up tired eyes. I love experimenting with brands and colors and I have accumulated a lot of pencils since the last 2 years. Today I am going to put forward my views on Lakme Glide On Eye Pencils, and the 2 shades I have with me are Aqua Green which is a beautiful bejeweled shade of bright teal and Smoky Green/Henna Gold which is a dark shade of forest green with gold undertones. Aqua Green is very pigment but the Smoky Green/Henna Gold is comparatively less pigmented and doesn't show up on my skin properly without a base/primer.

Lakme Glide On Eyeliner Pencils are very creamy and hence the tip is susceptible to breakage if not properly capped. So it needs to be capped cautiously. But sharpening the pencils is very easy and the tip don't break inside the sharpener. Also the tip comes out pointed and so drawing a fine is no problem. Since these are very creamy pencils, they dont tug or pull the eyelid while lining.

I use the pencils to line my upper/lower lashlines and waterline without any irritation or itching or burning sensation. I have sensitive as well as watery eyes but I didn't face any problem with the quality of these pencils. I use Glide On pencil to line my eyes and also as shadow on my lids. And I have always been happy with the results.

These pencils come with incredible lasting power. Once set they don't smudge, crease or budge from their place. Though they tend to fade slightly after 6-7 hours but they don't disappear completely. They don't melt with sweating or drenching as well. When used as shadow they don't crease and stays true till long hours. They stay put till I myself remove them with an eye makeup remover, face washes simply don't work on them.

I love the sleek packaging of the pencils and the transparent cap makes it easy to choose the wanted color. A very important thing about these pencils is that they set in very soon so you need to work fast on it to smudge it, can be a little tricky for slower girls. I have been using these for more than one and a half years now and I am totally in love with these pencils.

Pros:-
Very well pigmented
Creamy so doesn't tug or pull the eyelids
Needs sharpening, so its hygienic
After sharpening the tips comes out very pointed so its easy to draw a fine line
Affordable
Available in 7 stunning shades

Cons:-
Very creamy so tips break if not capped/uncapped with caution

I rate this product 4.75 out of 5. I will purchase the black and purple next, actually I am planning since long but don't know whats holding me :P

AVON GOLD SHINE EYELINER- SWATCHES, PICS & REVIEW

AVON GOLD SHINE EYELINER- SWATCHES, PICS & REVIEW
1.2 gms for INR 299

Company Says:- Smooth-glide formula applies golden sparkle color without tugging or dragging.

Ingredients:- Not Listed

Available in 2 shades:-
Golden Black
Golden Brown

My Opinion:- I love to use colored eye pencils to perk up my eyes. They make my eyes brighter and open them up. I keep on experimenting with eye pencils from different brands. This time it was Avon Gold Shine Eyeliner Pencil in Golden Brown. This pencil comes with a smudger attached at the other end and it is good enough, does it job pretty well. The shade is a beautiful brown with very fine golden shimmer which is not OTT and can be worn during the day as well as at night. I use it to line my eyes and also as eye shadow on my lids. It doesnt stay for long before beginning to smudge and smear. So I tried to use it over primered lids and I was the happiest girl on earth. It stayed put for more than 8-9 hours before fading a little and leaving behind a glittery trail. I love it for its staying power.
Smudger

Its a soft and creamy pencil but doesnt break while sharpening. It glides on easily with tugging or pulling my lids. Though it is not mentioned to be used on the waterline, I do use it on my waterline without any irritation or watery eyes. Another very important thing about this gold shine eyeliner pencil is that it doesnt gets washed off with sweat or even rain. Some days back I got drenched in the rain while wearing it but it didnt budge from its place though its not mentioned to be waterproof. It does not gets completely off with a face wsh, needs an eye makeup remover for complete removal. A total hit with me, considering to buy the golden black pencil as well.
Swatch

Pros:-
Sharpens easily without breaking
Lasts long
Hygienic
Pigmentation is good
Glides on super easy
Creamy & soft
Affordable

Cons:-
Needs a base for color to show up
Difficult to remove without eye makeup remover
Available in only 2 shades, hope Avon brings out more shades

After Smudging
I rate this product 4.75 out of 5. Its a total hit with me, I love it and have already placed an order for the golden black pencil.
