Company Says: - Finding a good toner is like finding a needle in a stack of hay :P But luckily I found my HG when I was some 15-16 years. Though I have been using different toners from varied brands, liking some and despising some, I always come back to Oriflame Pure Nature Organic Aloe Vera & Arnica Extract Soothing Toner. The packaging of this toner has changed over the years, when I first started it came in a squarish flatish (hope it makes sense) bottle but now it comes in a bright green tall plastic bottle with a screw on cap and a stopper to control the flow of product. The toner looks like water and like most other toners is runny (think water). The fragrance is very similar to the face wash from this range, herbal scent topped with a dash of citrusy note. The formulation and quality of this toner remains the same, thanks to Oriflame for this versatility.

The fragrance lingers on for some times after application then gradually fades off. I wash my face with face wash/cleanser and then apply this toner with a help of a cotton ball, let it work for a couple of mins and apply my moisturiser. And in those couple of minutes I can feel it working on my skin and upon application it gives a cool and refreshing feel to my skin. It tightens the pores and I can actually feel it happening. It keeps oil at bay from around 3-4 hours which is great for any toner. This toner does not dry out my skin; I use it twice or thrice a day. Very little product is required for one use and therefore the toner lasts for a good many months (3+ months). So the price of Rs 279 is not an issue and seems to be quite affordable.

The ingredient list is impressive and the best part is that this toner suits me to the T, both in summers and in winters. My pores are visibly reduces in sized and my face looks and feel much smoother after using this toner. It does not sting like other toner does, and it’s extremely gentle on my skin. This toner does not cause any irritation or redness on my skin. I love it and declare it as my HG (Holy Grail) toner. I don’t use this toner all the time, since I love experimenting with toners different brands.  The only bad bad point of this toner is the inclusion of Parabens in the ingredient list. But the best point is its alcohol-free and is extremely mild on my pimples and does not harm them.

Pros: -

* Alcohol-free toner, mild and gentle

* Gives a cooling sensation to my skin upon application

* I can feel it working on my pores and tightening them

* The fragrance is not very great but it’s very refreshing

* Never did harm my skin in any way or made it dry/stretchy

* Gentle on my dear pimples :P

* Available on offers, just keep a watch on the Oriflame catalogue

* Suitable for all skin types, also pimple-prone skin like mine

* Does not leave behind any residue/stickiness, dries off quickly

* Travel-friendly & hygienic packaging

Cons:-

*Contains Parabens

I rate this Oriflame Pure Nature Organic Aloe Vera & Arnica Extract Soothing Toner 4.75 out of 5. It’s really difficult to give such high rating to a toner but I do not have any options, have to since it’s the best one I have ever used. Well I am greedy and I do keep trying other toners as well. As I am writing this review I am deciding which brand to play with next :P :D ;) Anyways this is an absolute must try products for all skin types baring very dry skin. it is specially superb for pimple-prone skin like mine.

Hope you enjoyed my review, do leave behind your precious comments and share with us experiences with alcohol-free toners. Thank you and have a good day

AVON NATURAL ROSE & ROSE HIPS FAIRNESS TONER- REVIEW

100 ml for INR 149

Company Says: - New Naturals Fairness Toner effectively cleanses and tones skin, prepares it for next skin care step. After one application, it instantly refreshes skin with a pleasant feeling. Overtime, it makes skin look whiter, fairer and more even toned, with a natural rosy glow. Contains Rose & Rose Hips Extracts. Rose Hips are known to contain Vitamin C, which is known for its skin whitening properties. Suitable for everyday use. Dermatologically tested.

To Use: - Take desired amount onto cotton pad or hand. Spread all over face. Use daily before moisturizer.

Ingredients: - Water, Ethyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Sodium Citrate, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Fragrance, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Rosa Canina Fruit Extract, Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract
Alcohol Content: 11.86%v/v (with 1 % Diethylphthalate)

My Opinion: - I like my toners to be mild but effective, it should not sting plus it should be good enough to control oiliness. In the winters, my skin turns to combination type. So finding a toner which will work for my dry cheeks and oily t zone is a big chore. However, I had purchased Avon’s Natural Rose & Rose Hips Fairness Toner long back when it was being launched along with the face wash, SPF lotion, cream etc.

The toner comes in a see through pink plastic bottle with a flip open lid. The lid has a small hole on it to dispense the product, but I have changed the cap with flip open lid with a spray dispenser taken from Jovees Rose Skin Toner. Spraying on the toner seems to work for me more than applying it with a cotton pad. The fragrance of this toner is mild and sweet, very similar to rose water. Girls with sensitive noses will not mind the fragrance as its very light and goes away after applying.

I used this toner for 3 months; January, February & March; till I could finish it off. It was very gentle on my skin and it didn’t dry out my dry cheeks, even though I used it twice daily. This toner did not sting and nor did it work on large pores but it worked well to control my oily t zone in the winters. Now this toner comes with claims of fairness but I don’t think a toner can make anyone fair/fairer. But it definitely freshens up the skin and gives a cool and pleasant feel to the skin when applied.

This Rose & Rose Hips Toner is milky white and a not very runny liquid. It contains very less Alcohol and the quantity is described in the bottle itself. Also this toner contains Paraben which is a minus point for skin care enthusiast like myself. And the oil controlling capacity is very low, wouldn’t work for me in the summers when my skin is at its oiliest. Another thing we expect toners to do is to tighten pores and make them less visible which this toner failed to do.

Pros: -
·
  •  Affordable at Rs 149 for 100ml
  •   Didn’t dry out my already dry cheeks
  •  Fragrance is sweet & mild, very similar to pure rose water
  •  Mild enough to use twice a day
  • Gentle on my skin, didn’t sting

Cons: -
·
  •  Contains Paraben
  •   Will not work for oily skin
  • Fairness claim seems to be a marketing gimmick
  •  Does nothing for my pores

I rate this Avon Naturals Rose & Rose Hips Fairness Toner 3.75 out of 5 inspite of the 4 cons because it worked for my skin in the winters so well. I don’t think I will repurchase it as there are better toners out there in the market for the summers. Hope you all enjoyed this post, thank you and do have a great evening :)

MY ALL TIME FAVOURITES FROM ORIFLAME

Good Morning everyone, today I have 3 Oriflame skin care products which are my favorite since many years. I have been using these 3 skin care products namely, Essentials Balancing Face Cream with Vitamin E &' Calendula for Oily & Combination Skin, Pure Nature Organic Aloe Vera & Arnica Extracts Soothing Face Wash and Pure Nature Organic Aloe Vera & Arnica Extracts Soothing Toner, on and off ever since I first tried them. Packagings have changed but formulations of these products have remained the same. Hats off to Oriflame for mainting the quality or should I say for improving the face wash, toner & face cream. The face wash & toner are my Holy Grails but still I manage to try out face washes & toners from different brands. But one thing I know for sure, I will never ditch these two skin care products in the near future as I always keep coming back to them. The face cream has been my favorite as well but it doesn't contain Sun Protection, its only disadvantage but still I love it so much :D

Essentials Balancing Face Cream with Vitamin E &' Calendula for Oily & Combination Skin Rs 349

Pure Nature Organic Aloe Vera & Arnica Extracts Soothing Face Wash Rs 259

Pure Nature Organic Aloe Vera & Arnica Extracts Soothing Toner Rs 259

That's all for now, I shall come up with the reviews very soon. Have a nice day :)

JOVEES ROSE SKIN TONER- SWATCHES & REVIEW

100 ml for INR 130

Company Says:- Jovees Rose Skin Toner cum Astringent enlivens skin with special botanical extracts that includes Rose petals, Lemon grass, Chamomile & Sage helps normalize pH balance of skin, increases skin's ability to retain moisture, removes excess oils & helps to minimize enlarged pores to leave skin clean & clear.

Method of Use:- Clean face preferably with Jovees Strawberry or Tea Tree Face Wash & pat dry. Pour a few drops of Rose Skin Toner on cotton balls & dab on face & neck. Use twice daily.

Active Ingredients:- Rose Petals, Sage, Lemon Grass, Chamomile.

My Opinion:-
When I got bored of my Oriflame Aloe Toner, this bright red toner from Jovees caught my fancy. It was a spray bottle with a transparent plastic lid. The packaging is good enough for my frequent travels.

The fragrance of this attractive red toner is very sweet like that of fresh roses. It is so refreshing and lively that using it is a pleasure. But here I need to caution my friends with sensitive nose, the fragrance is on the stronger side. The fragrance doesnt stay after spraying the toner on skin.

It is a very light and mild toner/astringent and it did its job well. But it worked for a very less time, say for about an hour or so. After an hour my face would be oily again :( Anyways its gentle on my skin and never dried it out or made it feel stretchy. It also didnt harm my pimples, I could use it while I broke out. I have been using this toner twice a day since I bought it.

But my major problem with this toner/astringent is that it leaves a sticky film on my skin which goes away after say 15 mins. And yeah, its more freshening if its kept in the fridge. Anyways prolonged use of this toner has reduced my large pores to quite an extent. Also it gives life to dull/tired skin when sprayed on after a busy day.

Pros:-
* Active ingredients list is very impressive
* Didn't dry out my skin, its mild enough
* I love the bright red liquid and the spray bottle packaging
* Travel-friendly
* Strong rosewater fragrance is very refreshing

Cons:-
* Full ingredient list not given
* Leaves a sticky film behind after application, though it goes after 10-15 mins
* Becomes too frothy when shaked
* Controls the oiliness for around an hour only
* Plain rosewater works better than this Toner :P

I rate this Rose Skin Toner 3.5 out of 5 (-0.5 for sticky-ness & frothy-ness when shaked, -0.5 for non-effective-ness for oil control, -0.5 for non-availability of full ingredient list). I would prefer rosewater over this toner/astringent. Also my Avon Rose Toner is waiting for me to try it out.
