HIMALAYA HERBALS PURIFYING NEEM PACK- REVIEW

Normal to Oily Skin
Deep cleanses & purifies for clear, problem-free skin

50 gms for INR 65

Company Says: - A purifying pack that helps to regulate excess oil secretion, cleans clogged pores and prevents the recurrence of pimples. Neem, well-known for its purifying and anti bacterial properties, helps in controlling acne and pimples and their recurrence. Combined with Turmeric, it helps remove acne-causing bacteria. Fuller’s Earth (Multani Mitti) cools and soothes the skin, improving skin texture and leaving you with clear, problem-free skin.

Key Ingredients: - Fuller’s Earth, Neem, Turmeric

Directions: - Apply evenly over cleansed face and neck, avoiding the area around the eyes. Allow to dry for 10-15 minutes. Remove with a wet sponge and wash with cool water. Use once or twice a week. Do not apply on broken or inflamed skin

May cause tingling sensation due to herbal active ingredients, which is normal.

Ingredients: - Each gm contains: Ext. Haridra (Curcuma Longa)* 20 mg.
Pdrs. Nimba (Azadirachta Indica)* 100 mg, Panka# 40 mg.
Ref.: * API  # Bhava Prakasha

Inactives: - Sodium Methylparaben IP, Sodium Propylparaben IP, Imidazolidinyl Urea, DMDM Hydantoin.

Natural herbal formulations tend to change color over time. However, the product efficacy remains unchanged.

My Opinion: - Two products that I have been using from Himalaya since many years now, Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Face Wash and Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Pack. I always keep backups of these two products just because my skin is oily and pimple-prone. If I do not have pimples than I don’t bother to use the face wash but I use the pack once in 10 days even if my skin doesn’t break out. During the winters my skin becomes combination and behaves well and that’s when I put this face pack to rest. Coming to the review now, this face pack comes in white plastic tube with green patterns and writings. It has a dark green flip-open lid which makes it travel friendly and hygienic as well.

THIS IS HOW IT LOOKS UNDER FLASH

This face pack is of muddy green grainy textured, and the fragrance is very herbal with multani mitti and neem scent in it. I shake it a little before taking a small blob to spread on my face, then I take another blob and another one till my face is completely covered with this pack. I don’t apply a very thick layer and moderate layer does the work for me. It is easy to spread the pack with fingertips rather than a face pack brush. It takes around 15 mins to dry off completely in summers and 20-25 mins in cool weather. When it dries I splash some water on my face and scrub a bit before washing off. I know this can get messy but it’s worth the effort.

THIS IS HOW IT LOOKS IN NATURAL LIGHT

             When I use it during break outs, this pack helps to control the pimples and dry them out. I apply atleat once a week during my break outs otherwise I restrict using it to once in 10-12 days. For the first few uses a tingling sensation was felt on my skin but later on my skin got used to it. It is a face pack cum scrub for me, though Himalaya Herbals does not mention this. This pack is available in 2 different sizes and I always go for the small 50 gms tube as it is convenient to carry along while travelling. This face pack has the ability to make my skin clean and clear after every use. Inspite of all the goods, this face pack has 2 disadvantages- 1. It contains Parabens & 2. You might not know when it would get over as the tube is extremely opaque so when you feel the tube is getting lighter, then purchase a new tube or else you might be left with pack on one side of your face :P

AFTER SPREADING

Pros: -

* Controls & Dries out my pimples

* Affordable (Cheap) & easily Available

* Face pack plus works as a mild scrub for me

* Gentle on my skin, suits it as well

* Gives a fresh clean look to my face with regular use

Cons: -

* Contains Parabens

* Tube is opaque and you might not know when it is getting finished off

             I rate Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Pack 5 out of 5 inspite of the 2 cons. I shall continue using this face pack until I come across a better one. Highly recommended to girls with oily-acne prone skin. Dry skin & sensitive skin girls please stay away from this face pack. I would wrap up by thanking Himalaya Herbals for this baby :D

VASELINE TOTAL MOISTURE COCOA GLOW 24 HOUR NOURISHING LOTION- REVIEW

BEAUTYDIVA INDIA'S 2nd ANNIVERSARY GIVEAWAY- MY FIRST GIVEAWAY

For soft and glowing skin

100 ml for INR 65

Company Says: - Total Moisture Cocoa Glow lotion leaves your skin feeling healthy and glowing.

Ingredients: - Water, Soft Paraffin, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Isopropyl Palmitate, Glycol Stearate and Stearamide AMP, Dimethicone, Dihydroxypropyl Triammonium Chloride, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Triethanolamine, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol,Carbopol, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Methylparaben, DMDM Hydantoin, Disodium EDTA, Titanium Dioxide, CI 77944, Perfume.

My Opinion: - Body lotions are must for our skin in all seasons, especially if you have dry skin. Just as fall is approaching, my limbs are starting to get a little dry and by winter they are very dry. So I perk up my body care routine around this time every year.  I have been using the Vaseline Total Moisture Cocoa Glow 24hr Nourishing Lotion since last fall and loving it. Though I use body lotions from other brands, I keep coming back to this body lotion. Today I am putting forward my views on this body lotion. The packaging is simple but good looking. Plastic bronze flat bottle with chocolate flip-open lid. Nothing special or extraordinary but travel-friendly.

               This light (whitish) brown body lotion is thick and heavy creamy lotion. But it is non-sticky as well as non-greasy. I usually wait for a couple of minutes before putting on my clothes. My skin absorbs it very quickly and easily without much rubbing/massaging. Coming to the fragrance part, it delicious I would say :P Its chocolaty/caramely  fragrance also has a touch of coconut scent in it. The scent stays on for an hour or two before fading off completely. It’s a mild fragrance though.  I use it after bath every morning and night, I use on my whole body and I apply it by pouring some on my palm and rubbing the lotion between both palms to warm it a little. Then I spread it over my damp skin.

                 It keeps my skin soft and supple all day/night long. This body lotion gives enough moisture to my dry limbs and keeps them well nourished also. It stays on until I wash off with soap/body wash. It does not go with plain water alone. It contains Titanium Dioxide which acts as a sunscreen so I can use this body lotion during the day safely. I cannot say much about the 24hr claim because I never wore it for more than 8-9 hours. It is truly named ”Cocoa Glow” as it has given me glowing skin. this lotion is available in many sizes and therefore it can be used by all class of people.

THIS LOTION ISN'T WHITE, ITS WHITISH BROWNISH KINDA

Pros: -

* Affordable and easily Available

* Available in many sizes

* Does not wash off with water alone, soap is needed

* Stays on for long hours (8-9hours) until I wash it off

* Delicious fragrance, I love it very much

* Makes my skin glow

* Keeps my skin well moisturized and well nourished

* Makes my skin soft and supple

* Contains Titanium Dioxide hence I use it during the day safely

Cons: -

* Contains Parabens  (so what??? Most skin care products does and it’s not a problem with me)

                I rate this Vaseline Total Moisture Cocoa Glow 24hr Nourishing Lotion 5 out of 5. I fully recommend it to all girls with dry skin, but I can’t say if the ones with excessive dry skin will find it helpful. This is a must have body lotion for me though I keep experimenting with different brands.

Hope you enjoyed my review, do leave behind your precious comments and share with us experiences with Body Lotions. Thank you and have a great day :)

AVON GLIMMERSTICKS DIAMOND EYE LINER- BLACK ICE & TWILIGHT SPARKLE- SWATCHES, EOTD & REVIEW

Company Says: -
Define eyes with a bold, glamorous

Sparkle pearls adds shine and dimension by catching light for a fun, flirty look

Longwearing, smudge-proof shades glideon smooth and keep the glimmer going with all-day drama…. or night-time glamour!

Ingredients: - Not Listed

Available in 7 shades: -

* Black Ice – Black with silver/holographic sparkles

* Twilight Sparkle – Deep blue with bright blue sparkles

* Smoky Diamond – Dark grey with silver sparkles

* Emerald Glow- Dark/almost blackish green with green & silver sparkles

* Flashy Copper - Golden sparkly brownish copper

* Golden Diamond – Yellowish gold with gold sparkles

* Sparkling Silver - Steel grey with silver sparkles

My Opinion: - Eye pencils add a pop of color to the eyes, giving a very attractive look. These eye pencils pick you up on a bad day. I prefer using these in all possible shades but blacks and blues are an all-time favorite. Today I am reviewing 2 eye liner pencils from Avon, one of my favorite brands. One is Black Ice and the other is Twilight Sparkle. The packaging is a slim black plastic pen look-alike, retractable which makes it travel/purse friendly. I never use these eye liners on my waterline since the sparkles in them might irritate my eyes, I use them only on my upper as well as lower lash lines.

NATURAL LIGHT

                          These eye liner pencils are like dry crayons and are not creamy at all but they glide on the eyelids with much ease. They are perfect for thick lines as well as cat eyes but the rounded tip makes it impossible to create thin lines. The self-sharpening bit is a big lie but that is not a big drawback, since I use the tiny little sharpener from my Lotus Herbals Eye Pencil to get a pointed tip if required. The pigmentation is medium, not bad but not very good either. About 2-3 swipes are necessary for a dark noticeable line, they don’t tug or pull my eyelids and glide on with much ease.  The fact that these eye liner pencils are retractable, saves the pain of sharpening them which avoids the wastage of valuable product.

ARTIFICIAL LIGHT

                           Black Ice is a lighter shade of black with silver as well as holographic sparkles. These sparkles are not OTT or gritty and I use this particular shade for the day as well as night. This shade is not an intense black but sober enough for all the black eye liner-lovers. The second shade is Twilight Sparkle which is a true deep blue, almost tilting towards black, with oodles of bright blue sparkles. These sparkles are a bit on the gritty side but still I wouldn’t call them OTT. They can safely be worn during the day as well but I make it sure never to wear this shade to office. During the night it looks awesome and adds drama to the eyes. Both shades can be worn as eye shadow if smudged well before they get set.

GLITTER/SHIMMER STILL REMAINS AFTER WASHING OFF

                              The lasting power of these both shades is amazing, they stay whole day/night, until I choose to remove them. They don’t even melt after sweating and stay intact without a single smudge or smear but the sparkles travel all over the eyelids. I have very oily lids and I generally use a primer before applying any eye makeup but these eye liners stay put on my lids even without a primer or any other base. Now coming to removing/cleaning off these eye liners, it’s a chore I would say. These needs to be cleaned off with an eye makeup remover, but still the sparkles stay on even after washing off the face with a foaming cleanser. I have tried all types of cleanser but failed to remove all traces of sparkles. I can clearly see sparkles all over my eye-area the next day also :P

Pros: -

* Long-lasting, smudge-proof formula

* Does not tug/pull the eyelids even if they are not creamy

* Sweat-proof & Water-proof

* Retractable slim pen packaging makes it travel/purse friendly

* On discounts, they are a steal (very affordable)

* Self-sharpening avoids wastage

* 7 stunning shades available

Cons: -

 * Difficult to remove/clean off the sparkles

* This range lacks a basic brown shade (I hate them for this)

                I rate these Avon Glimmersticks Diamonds Eye Lines in Black Ice & Twilight Sparkle, 4.75 out of 5. These are my go to eye liner pencils; especially the Black Ice and I love them truly when it comes to the staying power. I miss a proper brown shade in this range (greedy me :P). I recommend these eye liner pencils to all eye makeup lovers.

2. Pure Nature Organic Hazelnut & Goji Berry Protecting Face Cream- Rs 349

3. Pure Nature Organic Hazelnut & Goji Berry Protecting Lip Balm- Rs 179

GOJI BERRY

Goji Berry- also known as Wolfberry is claimed to increase the longivity of a person if consumed regularly. It contains Vitamin A that gives it the anti-ageing benefit. Hence its claimed as the fountain of youth. It is also bestowed with anti-oxidant properties.

HAZELNUTS

Hazelnut- also known as Cob Nut or Filber Nut is a rich source of Oleic Acid, Vitamin E and anti-oxidants. Apart from having anti-ageing properties, it is an excellent toner/astringent, moisturizer, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and protects against sun damage.

My Opinion: - Most Oriflame products have been hits with me. I am using their Aloe Face Wash and Aloe Toner for years now, so this time I thought why not try a cleanser. Pure Nature Organic Hazelnut & Goji Berry Protecting 2-in-1 Cleanser was on sale and I ordered one immediately. Upon receiving it, I was shocked when I opened the lid, it smelt like some rotten citrus fruit. Aarghhh. Coming to the packaging, it a simple pale pink tall plastic bottle with a small screw-on lid in white. Looks pretty but its nothing special, just okay-ish I think.

           This pale pink cleanser is a little viscous than water, it’s that runny. It’s a watery cleanser and not even creamy. It can be called thick pink water :P  I pour some cleanser on the palm of my hand and gently massage it into my face & neck. Then I wait for a few minutes before gently cleaning off with a cotton pad. This cleanser cannot clean off heavy makeup, especially, eye liner/ eye pencil, mascara, waterproof foundation etc. but it does clean off the daily skin care products I use on my face- moisturiser, sunscreen, tinted-moisturiser, lip-gloss, lipstick etc.  I finally wash off with a mild face wash and my face is clean and looks fresh, and then I apply my night cream. I usually need to apply a cleansing lotion at nights only.

           This cleanser can be just washed off with plain water and it does not leave behind any greasy residue. As claimed by the company, I don’t need to use a toner anymore after using this cleanser. This cleanser does its job well of cleaning off light makeup/daily skin care products from my face. It never made me break out and nor did it aggravate my acne-prone skin. This cleanser contains hazelnut & goji berry which are excellent for skin. It cannot be used on dry skin as it is so watery, I think it is best suited for girls/ladies with oily skin who use minimum makeup. The best thing is that this cleanser does not contain Parabens.

Pros: -

* Never broke me out

* It was gentle on my acne

* I don’t need to use a toner, the 2-in-1 claim of the company is true

* It cleans off properly (light makeup/skin care product)

* Mild cleanser, suitable for sensitive skin

* Light-weight cleanser, suitable for oily skin

Cons: -

* Too pricey for a mediocre cleanser which does nothing for heavy makeup users

* No idea why Oriflame chose to call it “Protecting”

* Smells yuck…. like rotten citrus fruits

* Does not cleanse heavy makeup, well it does not claim either

* The claim that this cleanser is specially for dry skin, seems false as its too watery and might dry up the skin even more

            I rate this Oriflame Pure Nature Organic Hazelnut & Goji Berry Protecting 2-in-1 Cleanser 3.5 out of 5. Right now I am trying to finish it off but even after using for 3+ months; a third of the cleanser still remains. I am a regular makeup using and I use this cleanser only on days when I wear minimum makeup so it’s taking time to finish off. It’s not a heavy duty cleanser so girls think well before spending your hard earned cash.

Hope this review helped you in some way or the other. Do share your experiences about cleansers with us in the comments section. Thanks for reading the post and have a great day :)
