FOOT CARE TIPS

Our feet are definetely the most ignored and badly treated part of the body. Let's admit it that most of us probably do not think about our feet until they start complaining. If you have been neglecting your feet lately, decide immediately to rectify the mistake. Make it a point to give your feet all the extra care they deserve to make up for the years of neglect. If you ignore to deal with your feet problems now, they can become worse and even turn serious in course of time. Well shaped and soft feet are beauty assets which are in total display in those sexy strappy sandals. But for the good health of your feet, it is necessary to keep them in good shape throughout the year. Here are a few random tips to keep your feet in pristine condition.

* Regularly soak feet in warm water to which 2 tbspns of Epsom Salt have been thrown in. Leave your feet immersed in this solution for 15 mins.

* Daily abrassion is the key to soft smooth feet, use a pumice stone or foot file daily during bath.

* Scrubbing is another important aspect in foot care. Take a tspn of oil, vegetable/olive/almond oil, and add some sea salt and gently scrub your feet for about 5-10 mins. Wash off while bathing.

* Apply foot cream liberally at night before retiring. If foot creams donot work for you, mix together 2 tbspns of lemon juice and 1 1/2 tbspns of glycerin a small bottle and massage into your feet every night. Wear cotton socks and see how well moisturised they are.

* in a basin of hot water, add a tbspn of mustard oil and soak your feet in it for 15 mins. Step under the tap and allow cold water to run over your feet. This is great for relaxing your feet.

* Massage a couple of drrops of almond oil into your feet, you can also add almond oil to your regular foot cream for added benefits.

That's it for now, hope you enjoy reading this post. Thank you and have a great time :)

JOVEES FOOT CREAM & SCRUB- REVIEW

A unique 2-in-1 formula for smoother, healthier, radiant feet

60 gms for INR 75

Company Says:- A cream cum scrub formulation easily absorbed into the skin, shall help in the healing of the problems of even the driest and roughest feet. This unique product that shall rejuvenate and revitalize damaged skin to give your feet a smoother, healthier and more radiant appearance. A daily use product for your beautiful feet.

Method Of Use:- Take sufficient quantity of cream cum scrub from the tube and massage into heels and soles of the feet in a circular motion till absorbed. Leave on.

Active Ingredients:- Jojoba seed nuts, Sesame, Kokum Butter, Geranium Oil, Lemon Grass Oil, Rosemary extract.

My Opinion:-
We cannot alter the shape & size of our feet, whether we like it or not we have to live with the same pair of feet we are born with. Also our feet takes the entire weight of our body and are mostly neglected. There are nevre endings in our soles which make our feet all the more important. So taking good care (read pampering) is something which we should do regularly. Daily use of a foot cream is a must along with weekly scrubbing and regular filing.

I have been using and very much liking Oriflame Feet Up Overnight Moisturising Foot Cream. As it got over a couple of weeks ago, I thought of trying another brand of foot cream and this is when I stumbled upon Jovees Foot Cream & Scrub. The name itself was highly intriguing since the word 'scrub' was attached with the phrase 'Foot Cream'. the SA explained that this is a scrub kind of cream :P Back home, before retiring at night I open the sealed tube to find the SA was correct. The fragrance is very mild but sweet floral, which will be liked by most since its not at all over-powering. The texture is white creamy with tiny and bright pink beads. The cream nourishes and the beads exfoliates :D good for lazy girls like me.

I apply to my clean feet every night and massage it into my feet for a few seconds till the cream gets absorbed into my skin. The beads donot melt and stay as it is and makes me feel uneasy, imagine sleeping with scrub on :P These beads also stain and dirty my sheets so mom suggested that I should either wear socks or gently remove the beads with a soft towel. Anyways I like this great & innovative idea of scrub & cream packed together. I concentrate my massaging on the shoe bite marks I got in 3 places on each foot and I am happy to declare that they are fading away gradually.

This foot cream comes in a white plastic tube which is hygienic & travel friendly as the flip open lid click shuts tight. My feet are moisturised and exfoliated in 1 go and hence they are radiant and soft in the morning. Even after bathing, my feet stay silky & soft with no trace of dryness. This cream can be used by everyone and in all weather conditions. But I don't really think that this cream will work on very dry & rough feet immediately, you need to give it sometime before you start noticing the results.

Pros:-
* Does what it claims
* Considerably lightened the shoe bite marks
* Truly made my feet radiant & soft
* Gives exfoliation & nourishment in 1 go, very innovative concept
* Affordable & easily available
* Hygienic & travel friendly tube packaging
* Non greasy & light formula makes it perfect for daytime use as well

Cons:-
* Full ingredient list is not given
* I need 2 big blobs for a single foot so it will not see me through 1 month also
* The tiny pink beads left stains on my bed sheet, later on I started wearing a socks after gentle wiping off the beads

I rate this Jovees Foot Cream & Scrub 4.25 out of 5. It worked wonders for me and showed results almost immediately. Its a must try for all foot cream lovers. Do give it a try and you will thank yourself for it. Thank you and give a great day :)

Ingredients:- Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Dimethiconol and Trideceth-10 and Tea Dodecylbenzenesulfonate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Perfume, Glycol Distearate, Glycerin, Carbomer, Amodimethicone and Cetrimonium Chloride and Trideceth-12, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Mica and Tit , Sodium Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Gluconolactone, Trehalose, Adipic Acid, Sodium Sulphate, PEG-45M, DMDM, Hydantoin, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Prunus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut ) Oil, Methylchloroisothiazolnone and Methylisothiazolinone, CI 17200, CI 42090, CI 19140

My Opinion:- Dove has always been my fave brand for shampoos & conditioners. I simply love the trademark Dove fragrance which is very feminine according to me. A week before Diwali I recieved an awesome gift from Indiblogger, it was the Dove Nourishing Oil Care Range packed in a plastic pouch with small golden thermocol balls thrown it to resemble the Vita Oil droplets. I was happy to recieve this and immediately started using it as my previous shampoo had nearly finished off.

The packaging is basic nothing special, a sturdy white plastic bottle which is tall and comes with a dull golden flip top lid. The lid clicks shut tightly but at first I was a little skeptical if it is safe for travelling as I am a frequent traveller. The consistency is like lotion not very thick but not watery as well. The shampoo is offwhite loaded with golden shimmer like particles which makes it extremely appealing to the eyes. Coming to the fragrance it has this typical Dove fragrance which I have mentioned earlier.

I have oily scalp which turns normal in the harsh winters with dry ends which are dry round the year. So I thought this shampoo would turn my scalp more oily and do justice to my dry ends, but I was wrong. I always dilute my shampoo with a little water and use it on my wet hair. I used this shampoo alone also to check if its drying but the outcome was good enough and hence I started using it regularly and sometimes daily too. This shampoo did not make my scalp oilier but took good care of my dry ends. Its really very nourishing and the goodness of Vita Oils can be seen on my hair with regular use. Its a mild shampoo appropriate for damaged hair also, it neither irritates my scalp nor does it make it itchy. Its gentle on my scalp and hair and also it cleans my hair very well.

My hair has now become somewhat softer after around 2 months regular use and I still have some shampoo left for a few more uses. This proves that a little goes a long way as this shampoo lathers well. My hair is shiny and softer and less frizzy, also this has made my hair a little manageable than before. The downside of this shampoo is silicon which is said to build up residue with longer periods of expos. And another thing I am not comfortable is the flip top packaging as I have a hunch it might ruin your clothes while travelling so I make it a point to carry it separately inside a small plastic pouch :P See what not I do to keep it by my side as I am loving it.

Pros:-
* Cleans my scalp/hair well
* Make my hair soft, manageable & less frizzy
* Sweet feminine fragrance
* Its gentle on my hair/scalp
* Doesn't irritate or make my scalp itchy
* Affordable and easily available

Cons:-
* Contains SLES, Carbomer & Silicon but most shampoos do as well
* I am a little apprensive about the flip top packaging

I rate this Dove Nourishing Oil Care Shampoo 4.25 out of 5. Right now I am loving this shampoo quite a lot. And I will keep coming back to it. Though I plan not to use it continuously. Its a must try shampoo for all babes with dry & rough hair. Thank you all for reading this post and please do leave behind your lovely comments. Have a great day :)

My Opinion:-
I am not much of a lipstick person, tinted balms and glosses are good enough for me. But once in a while, I too buy lippies in nude shades if I happen to love the color. This Maybelline Moisture Extreme lippie in Honey Ginger was sitting unattended since maybe a year in my dresser. While cleaning/organising my stuff I came across this lippie and here I am reviewing it for you all.

The red sleek packaging is very attractive and eye catching, I love it. The red tube is made of sturdy plastic and a couple of falls in my case didn't damage the lippie or the tube itself. The lid clicks shut tight and opens with a little pull. The packaging is very much purse-friendly and can be thrown into the purse and forgotten.

The fragrance is so mild that my nose couldn't pick it. The color is so pretty, a classy nude brown. I love this shade so much that I have started using it at most times nowadays. It a perfect brownish nude for fair to wheatish skintones but its definitely a big no no from the dusky beauties. It gives a glossy effect and makes my mouth look fuller and amplified. Though I sometimes top it with my Oriflame Powershine Lip Gloss in and its good enough to be worn in a day time party.

The texture of this lipstick is very creamy. But then this creamy-ness didn't make it melt in my purse during this hot season also. It glides on effortlessly on my lips and just 2 swipes are enough for full opacity. This lipstick is very pigmented and gives the lips a glossy effect. The best part is that it comes without shimmer, atleast my shade has no glitter/shimmer in it. Its highly moisturising and its rightly named 'Moisture Extreme'.

Now coming to the staying power, it stays on for around 3 hours and goes through tea/juice or light snacks. But it does need a touch up after a full meal. Also this lippie has the tendency to bleed out of the lip line. Wearing foundation/concealer or a good quality lip base along with light dusting of translucent powder around the mouth can fix the bleeding problem. Also it a must to line lips with a matching color lip liner when wearing this lipstick because when it fades the lip liner will be visible. Ofcourse it fades evenly and doesn't disappear totally. A sexy tint is left behind and my lips are not left stark naked.

Pros:-

* Stayed on for 4.5 hours through 2 glasses of juice otherwise stays on for 3 hours max
* Fades off evenly, leaves a slight stain behind
* Beautiful nude shade, great for fair and medium skintones
* Very pigmented, 2 swipes are enough
* Highly moisturising
* Has so many lovely nude shades

Cons:-
* Very moisturising hence it bleeds but a slight dusting of powder around the mouth can solve this problem
* Fungal growth on a certain spot :(

I rate this lippie 4.25 out of 5 as it is extremely moisturising and suits my nearly dry lips. Lovely nude shades makes me go weak on my knees :P ;) and this one was no exception. A must try for nude lovers with fair to medium skintones. But for me one nude lippie from 1 particular range is more than enough, no more buying again =)
