How to use the product in four easy steps

Step 1- Bathe - Use a shampoo that suits your hair type.

Step 2 - Treat - Wash off the shampoo and apply a conditioner/masque to lock in the natural oils of the scalp.

The new 3rd Step - 'Regenerate' - The INITIALISTE serum completes the process by adding a new step i.e. "Regenerate" to the regime, for stimulating the growth of radiant healthy hair. INITIALISTE is a leave-in product that is applied on towel-dried hair, directly on the scalp, just before styling. Take one to two pipettes, depending upon the thickness of the hair and gently massage with finger tips to spread the product evenly across the scalp.

Follow these steps to ensure that you have a safe, fun and memorable Holi:

• You can use light daytime make-up. Touch up your eyes with an eyepencil or kajal stick like Oriflame Kohl Pencil and use a lip gloss or balm. However, if you intend to play rigorously with colours, try not to wear any make-up
  
  
• Protect your nails from the colours by using transparent nail polish, such as Oriflame Beauty Crystal Base & Top Coat. If you have long nails, you can use it on the underside of the nails as well. One could also use Oriflame Beauty Nail Shield which strengthens the nails while protecting them
  
  
• While playing, try to ensure a safe and skin-friendly Holi by using herbal or natural colours: henna or spinach (green), turmeric or marigold flowers (yellow), tomatoes or beetroot or kumkum (red) & tea leaves (brown)
  
  
• After playing with the colours, remember not to use harsh soaps to get rid of colours from your skin. Do not wash your face with soap immediately, because soap is alkaline and causes further dryness. Instead, use a cleansing cream or lotion, like Optimals Cleansing Milk, which soothes the skin while cleansing. Massage on the skin and then wipe off with moist cotton wool
  
  
• Sesame seed (til) oil can also be used to remove colours by massaging it on face and body. This not only helps to remove the colours, but gives added protection to the skin
  
  
• While washing your hair, first rinse them with plenty of plain water to wash away the dry colours and tiny particles of mica. Apply a mild natural shampoo, like Oriflame Nature Secrets Shampoo for Greasy Hair Nettle & Lemon, which deeply cleanses the hair without causing any further damage. Work it into the hair with your fingers, massage the scalp gently and rinse thoroughly with water again
  
  
• Add the juice of a lemon to a mug of water and use it as a last rinse. This helps to restore the acid-alkaline balance of the scalp. Beer can also be used as a last rinse to soften and condition the hair
  
  
• You can also apply a hair pack made of fenugreek seeds, amla powder, boiled shikakai powder and water. Another homemade recipe for hair pack that works is a mixture of henna powder, four teaspoons of lemon juice and curd. My Opinion: - Serums are very essential part of hair care; it adds the finishing touches to hair after shampooing and conditioning etc. For many years now I have this habit of reaching out for a serum after every singler shampoo/hair wash. I have tried tons of serums and have liked most of them, though I first started with Livon Silky Potion when I was in school and loved back then. Now coming back to the review, the packaging is classy and good looking. A transparent plastic pump bottle with a white plastic dispenser and transparent lid. The bottle is somewhat oval-ish in shape which I like. Also its travel friendly and takes up less space since its sleek enough.

                        

                  This serum is golden yellowish and runny in consistency. Its texture is silky and its completely non-greasy and extremely light. This serum is nearly non-scented (too mild for my nose to pick up) and just 2-3 pumps are enough for my hair. I apply serum after shampooing and conditioning or after using a mask/pack on my hair. I take a single pump, rub it between my palms and start applying on the lengths of my hair and then I take another pump and another one till I am done. One very big advantage of this serum is that it can be applied on dry hair as well and that too without greasiness.

                           This serum contains Vita Oil which is a blend of Coconut, Almond and Sunflower Oils which are extremely beneficial for the hair. It adds shine to my hair, detangles my hair after a wash and smoothens my hair making it soft and silky. This serum does not weighs down my hair or makes it limp and greasy. I like the fact that it decreases frizz and makes my hair quite manageable. Rs 300 for 40 ml is decent pricing because this bottle lasts me for about 2+ months with regular use. The bottle is reusable and I shall be able to use it for products which I think should come with a pump dispenser.

* Controls frizz

* Makes my hair silky, shiny and smooth

* Affordable at Rs 300 for 40 ml, taking into consideration the fact that it takes more than 2 months to get over with regular use

* Contains silicons but which serum does not contain chemicals

* None actually

               I rate this Dove Damage Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Vita Oil Serum 4.75 out of 5. It’s a nice serum and does what its supposed to do, no tall claims are made by the company and whatever they say is nearly true. This is the only serum after Livon Silky Potion that I have repurchased. It’s a must try for all girls who long for shine and frizz control.

Company Says: - Jovees ready to use regrowth & revitalizing hair pack will stimulate hair growth while helps hair from premature greying. It will help add luster and sheen to hair. It will work as an excellent conditioner that will help improve volume of hair and strengthen the hair roots.

Method of Use: - Pour a few drops of water into the ready to use hair pack and stir well. Apply all over scalp and leave on for 45 minutes. Wash thoroughly with plain water. Use Jovees Henna and Ginseng Shampoo next day for washing the hair.

Active Ingredients: - Palasbeej, Bhringraj, Jatamansi, Amla

Shelf life: - Best before 3 years from the date of mfg.

My Opinion: - This is one product that I have repurchased over and over again and I confess that I can’t do without it. This hair pack comes in bright green plastic tube with a screw on lid. The tube needs to be shaken well before dispensing the paste otherwise a lot of unwanted liquid comes out of the nozzle. The texture of the hair pack is very gritty/grainy. It is not very thick and not even runny as well. The fragrance of this pack is very herbal with strong henna and amla smell. To me it looks and smells like some chawanprash :P :D Nothing bad or good about the fragrance, people using henna will surely like it.

                           I shake the tube vigorously and squeeze out some paste in a glass bowl and add a little water to it, mix well and apply on my scalp/hair roots either with fingertips or a brush. The best part about this hair pack is that it can be applied on my dry scalp/hair root. Most packs must be applied on wet hair and this is a problem in the winters. I wrap my hair in a towel drenched in hot water and I leave it on for about an hour and wash off with plain water. As recommended I shampoo my hair next day and not immediately after using the hair pack. It takes time in rinsing out the pack from my hair and if not washed properly, then you might have bits of brown dust falling on your shoulders and back.

                               This hair pack leaves my hair soft and shiny after each use and its effect lasts for about 7 to 10 days, therefore I use it every 10 days on my hair. It controls frizz and also reduces oil on my scalp, my scalp is oily and roots dry. This hair pack does not dry out my scalp but makes it less oily than its normal state. It’s easy to style and manage my hair for the next few days after using this hair pack. My hair looks and feels better after each use, maybe this is psychological or maybe it’s for real. The only problem I have with this hair pack is that the company does not declare all the ingredients in the tube, ok that’s a common problem with most companies so never mind.

RESEMBLES HENNA PASTE

Pros: -

* Can be used on dry hair, that’s the biggest plus point

* Affordable and easily available

* 1 tube lasts for 3-3.5 months; I use this hair pack every 10 days

* Makes my hair manageable, soft & shiny after each use

* Does not itch or irritate my scalp

* Controls the oiliness of my scalp, but does not make it dry

* Can’t say a word about the regrowth and premature greying control claims, but it does revitalize my hair as claimed

* Tube packaging is hygienic as well as travel friendly

Cons: -

* The company says its ready to use but actually you have to mix in a little water. (Curd & milk is also suggested by the Jovees SA) Cannot be used directly from the tube

* Full ingredient list is not available; well that’s not actually a con

* Needs a lot of rinsing or some residue is left behind

  

                            I rate this Jovees Regrowth & Revitalising Ready To Use Hair Pack 4.75 out of 5. I love this hair pack as it suits my hair/scalp to the T and gives me soft shiny locks, though I apply only on my scalp. A must try for all the hair care freaks, try it out atleast once and I don’t think you will regret it.
