Chondrus Crispus Extract: also known as Irish Moss or Carrageen Moss is an moisturising agent used in creams, mask ,wrappings, shampoos and emulsions.

My Opinion :- After 8 months of reviewing a Garnier Night Cream I never came to reviewing another one here on BDI, not because I repurchased the Garnier one but because I used Aloe Vera Gel & a wonderful Aloe Vera overnight mask all through the summers. Today I am putting forward my views on my latest favorite night cream, Oriflame Optimals White Night Cream. The night cream comes in a glass jar with a silver grey screw-on lid. Also upon opening the main lid you would find a silver foil protector to keep the cream from becoming messy. The packaging is not hygienic as I have to dip my nails in the tub but it is travel-friendly.

                       The fragrance is sweet floral like the other Optimal White Range of products. Most people will like it. The cream is soft creamy and glides on the skin like butter. The consistency of this white night cream is between a gel and a lotion. But it takes time to get absorbed into the skin even after massaging it for a while. The cream just sits there on top of my skin for say 5 mins and thereafter the skin drinks it up. The night cream is not greasy and does not makes my skin oilier, it also is not on the heavier side though it hydrates and moisturises my oily skin well enough.

                         As you can see from the pics that I have already made more than half way through with this night cream, I must tell you that I like it a lot. I apply it religiously every night after cleansing & toning and gently massage it onto my skin. In the morning my skin is bright and radiant but not at all oily, it also feels soft and supple. The night haven't broken me out and does clog pores, that's the best part. The price is on the higher side but you can wait till the sales and get a good discount. Overall a good night cream for oily skin though Oriflame calls it a product for "all types of skin".

Pros:

* Light-weight cream

* Non-greasy, non-sticky

* Does not clogs pores

* Mild floral fragrance

* Brightens skin with regular use

* Makes skin soft & supple

* Gives fresh & radiant skin in the morning

* Gives enough moisture & hydration to my oily skin

* Impressive ingredient list

Cons:

* Not fit for dry and normal skin types though Oriflame claims it suits All Skin Types

* Available only through Oriflame consultants

* Pricey at Rs 590 for 50 gm

                     I rate Oriflame Optimals White Night Cream 4.5 out of 5. It is best suited for oily and combination skin as it is a light weight water based night cream. I love it and plan to repurchase it as soon as I finish it off. Highly recommended for oilies like me who love to flaunt fresh and bright skin.

Hope you enjoyed my review, do leave behind your precious comments and share with us experiences with Night Creams. Thank you and Happy Monday everyone :)

LAKME CLEAR PORES CLEAN UP FACE MASK- REVIEW

With Green Tea Extracts

50g for INR 110

Lakme Says: - Get a Salon-Like* Clean-Up
# Easy rinse-off clay based mask absorbs excess oil & helps tighten pores for clear & matte skin
# Helps prevent breakouts & contains green tea extracts known to calm your skin

Professional Tip: Use the complete 3 STEP LAKME Clear Pores CLEAN-UP regularly to see results

* Refers to basic products used in salon clean ups.

Get that clear, matte skin with Lakme Clean-up Clear Pores Face Mask that comes with the absorbing power of clay. It helps remove excess oil and tighten pores. While green tea extracts are known to soothe your skin, salicylic acid prevents breakouts and fights blemishes. (Taken from Lakme Website)

Usage: Wet face. Apply the mask evenly on your face & neck & allow it to dry. Rinse off with water and pat dry.

Caution: Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact rinse thoroughly with clear water.

Ingredients: - Aqua, Kaolin, Bentonite, glycerin, PEG 400, Titanium Dioxide, Stearic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Disodium Laureth Sulphosuccinate, Cetostearyl Alcohol, Niacinamide, Dimethiconol, TEA DodecylBenzenesulfonate, Perfume, Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Salicylic Acid, Disodium EDTA, CI 40290, CI 15985, CI 19140, Pheoxyethanol, DMDM, Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl Butyl Carbamate, Methyl Paraben, Butyl Paraben, Ethyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Methylisothiazolinone

Face Mask contains Iodine.

My Opinion: - This is the 3rd and last step of Lakme Clear Pores Clean-Up Skin Care Regime. Coming to the packing its a aqua green tube with opalescent screw-on cap which is safe for travelling. I always follow the Lakme Clear Pores Clean Up Face Scrub with the Clear Pores Mask. I have therefore used it 5-6 times in accordance with the other 2 products (face wash & face scrub). The fragrance is similar to the other to products, refreshing green tea extract/oil but this one is not too mild but fades off within minutes of application.

                          The mask is a very thick paste, smooth and creamy but it is a little difficult to spread. It takes a little time and effort to evenly apply this mask on my face and neck. As claimed by the brand it does not dry in 5-7 mins but it takes a good 15 mins to dry off completely. I apply it after using the scrub on my wet face, that way it is much easier to spread the mask. Also I have noticed that if it is applied in a thin layer as suggested by Lakme it dries faster but if a thicker layer is applied, then it takes much longer than the said time (5-7 mins).

MILKY BLUE THICK PASTE

                              This mask is also difficult to wash off, I tried wetting my face and then gently massaging to remove the mask, it helped to some extent but wetting my face with a facecloth and then taking it off is the best way I could up with. That way its not time consuming and comes off easily. It leaves my skin soft and smooth. Mattifies my skin and absorbs the excess the oil like all clay masks do plus it diminishes my pores for quite some times. The result last for a day at the max. This mask didn't do anything for my acne- neither good nor bad. Just another clay mask with Green Tea Extracts and Salicylic Acid. The ingredient list says that it contains oodles of Parabens which the other 2 products from this range does not contain.

AFTER SPREADING

Pros: -

* Affordable & Easily Available

* Controls Excess Oil and mattifies the skin

* Makes skin soft & smooth

* Contains Salicylic Acid & Green Tea Extracts, both great for oily skin

* Gentle on my acne, didn't irritate them

Cons: -

* Contains Parabens

* Result is temporary

* Takes time to dry (all clay masks do)

* Difficult to remove

                       I rate Lakme Clear Pores Clean Up Face Mask 3.75 out of 5. It is just another clay mask but here it is induced with Green Tea & Salicylic Acid. Takes time to apply and difficult to apply, I couldn't give it a higher rating. Dry skin girlies stay out and normal skin ladies use a moisturiser immediately as this Clear Pores Regime can be a little drying.

Hope this review helped you in some way and do leave behind your sweet comments and also share with us your experience with masks. Thank you and have a great evening :)

LAKME CLEAR PORES CLEAN UP FACE SCRUB- REVIEW

With Green Tea Extracts

50g for INR 110

Lakme Says: - Get a Salon-Like* Clean-Up
# Gentle scrub with soothing green tea extracts specially designed for troubled skin
# Helps fights blemishes , reduce irritation & prevent further breakouts for clear and mattified skin
# Oil free
# Dermatologist Tested
# Non-Comedogenic
# Hypeallergenic

Professional Tip: Use the complete 3 STEP LAKME  Clear Pores CLEAN-UP regularly to see results.

* Refers to basic products used in salon clean ups.

Your skin is currently shedding cells, which leads to a build-up of dead cells and dull-looking skin. Designed specially for skin prone to breakouts, Lakmé Clean-up Clear Pores Face Scrub is dermatologist tested, non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic.With the goodness of green tea extracts to soothe your skin, and salicylic acid to prevent breakouts and fight blemishes, this gentle scrub helps get rid of dead cells, unclog pores, and gives you clear, matte skin. (Taken from Lakme Website)

Usage: Wet face. Take a generous amount & gently massage for 2-3 minutes in circular motion with fingertips avoiding the eye contour. Rinse thoroughly with water and pat dry.

Caution: Avoid contact with eyes. In case of eye contact rinse thoroughly with clear water.

Ingredients: - Aqua, Potasium Laureth Phosphate, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Sodium Methyl 2-Sulfolaurate, Disodium 2-Sulfolaurate, Hydrated Silica, Polyacrylate-1 Crosspolymer, Glycerin, Hydrolysed Jojoba Ester, Citric Acid, Glycereth-18, Salicylic Acid, Kaolin, Perfume, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract,Epilobium Angustifolia Extract, Olea Europaea Leaf Extract, CI 40290, CI 15985, CI 19140, PPG-2, Methyl Ether, Phenethyl Alcohol, Methylisothiazolinone

Epilobium Angustifolia Extract- has anti-microbial & anti-irritant properties for skin.

Olea Europaea Leaf Extract- is the leaf of Olive. It is a skin conditioning agent and help reduce skin damage.

My Opinion: - The 2nd step to a Salon Clean Up is to use the Clear Pores Clean Up Scrub. I have used this scrub about 5-6 times till now and I can say this is the best product from this range. Now coming to the packaging, its a aqua green tube with opalescent screw-on cap which is very convenient for travelling. No chance of any mess or spillage since the cap shuts tight. The silver font on the tube looks classy and very attractive. The fragrance is sweet but still refreshing, has some fresh green tea extract notes but those are very mild. The scent is quite similar to that of the face wash. This scent will not bother the sensitive noses also as it fades off after application.

                       The scrub is non-gritty and looks like a very light blue-green gel. It is a thick paste with non-abrasive, non-gritty, finely milled scrub particles which I am in love with. I use it every 5 days and it gives me adequate exfoliation sans the redness and irritation. I wet my face, squeeze out a little scrub onto the back of my hand and apply it on dots all over my face and neck. Then I start to gently massage it all over laying special stress around my nose, mouth, forehead and chin. Since my skin has broken out, I try to be extra gentle while working with the scrub. This scrub easily washes off with a few splashes of water and does not leave behind any residue (greasiness/stickiness etc). I usually keep adding a little water at a time since the scrub dries off after a little while like all scrubs do. I keep gently massaging for about 4-5 mins and wash off.

                          This scrub is so gentle on my skin that it does not redden and irritate my skin. It is just a mild exfoliator that gently removes dead cells and excess oil from the skin surface thereby giving a subtle matte glow which lasts for only a day at the max. Just now remember that the texture of the scrub can best be described as a mixture of a gel with fine table salt but here the scrub particles are not visible. My skin is smooth and clear after washing off and it stays that way for a long time, say a day at the most. of course it does mattify my skin and controls oil secretion to some extent. I love this scrub for its gentleness as most scrubs doesn't seem to work for me. I exfoliate every 5 days apart from using a gentle exfoliating face wash daily as I have very oily skin. I have never used this scrub alone, but always in combination with the wash & mask and it gives good results.

Pros: -

* Affordable & Easily Available

* A small blob is enough for a single use, 50 gms will go a long way

* Very mild but effective scrub

* Very gently on my skin, no reddening or irritation

* Makes my skin smooth & soft

* Gives a subtle matte glow

* Gives that clean fresh tingling feel to my skin

Cons: -

* None as such

                    I rate Lakme Clear Pores Clean Up Face Scrub 4.25 out of 5 as it is a very gentle yet very effective scrub. It might not be the best scrub I have used but it is the best product from this particular range. If you want to try any one product from this range, go ahead and try this scrub, you will not regret I promise. But dry skin beauties might not like it at all, so try before you buy or better still skip it. A nice scrub I am enjoying at the moment.

Hope this review helped you in some way. Thank you for reading this review and please do leave behind your experience with Scrubs. Have a great time ahead :)

LAKME CLEAR PORES CLEAN UP FACE WASH- REVIEW

With Green Tea Extracts

50 g for INR 90

Lakme Says: - Get a Salon-like* Clean-Up
# Cleanses skin gently yet effectively for clear and matte skin
# Helps remove excess oil & helps prevent breakouts

Professional Tip: Use the complete 3 STEP LAKME Clear Pores Clean-Up regularly to see results.

* Refers to basic products used in salon clean ups.

The dirt and excess oil on your skin tends to make it dull and lifeless. Wash your face with Lakmé Clean-up Clear Pores Face Wash and prep your skin for a deep cleansing experience. Enriched with green tea extracts to help soothe your skin, and salicylic acid to prevent breakouts and fight blemishes, this face wash cleanses all visible dirt and impurities, helps control excess oil, and makes your skin feel tingling fresh and matte smooth. (Taken from Lakme Website)

Usage: Squeeze a small amount into your palms and work into a rich lather. Massage on wet face. Rinse thoroughly with water. Suitable all year round.

Caution: Avoid contact with eyes. In case of eye contact rinse thoroughly with clear water.

Ingredients: - Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Cocamido Propyl Betaine, Glycerin, Acrylates Steareth-20 Methacrylate Copolymer, Niacinamide, Sodium Chloride, Triethanolamine, Perfume, Salicyclic Acid, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Zinc PCA, Menthol, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Benzophenone 4,  CI 15985, CI 19140, CI 40290, DMDM Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl Butyl Carbamate.

Face Wash Contains Iodine.

My Opinion: - Today I am reviewing the recently launched Lakme Clear Pores Clean Up Range With Green Tea Extracts, I shall start with the face wash first as this is the 1st step to the Salon Clean-Up Regime. This range promises to give a clear & matte skin in 3 easy steps. So lets find out how they fared with me, I have oily-acne prone skin and right now while writing this post I have 6 painful ugly acne sitting on my face. I have very oily skin and therefore I pounce on anything that says "With Green Tea/Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extracts".The packing itself is very refreshing to the eyes, aqua green tube with opalescent flip open cap which I wouldn't trust while travelling, might leak and make a big mess. The fragrance is mild but very refreshing like fresh green tea leaves.

                      The face wash looks a very light blue-green gel and is on the thicker side as it is not at all runny. A pea size amount is more than enough and lathers very well. The ladies who love foaming/lathering face washes will love this. I usually take out a little on my palm, add a few drops of water, later it up and apply it on my face. I gently spread it all over my face and neck, wait for a couple of mins to let it work on dirt, grime, stale make-up etc and rinse off with water. A few splashes are enough for a squeaky clean feeling. My skin feels fresh and clean and also looks matte. But this face wash does not dry out my skin nor does it give me that horrid stretchy feeling. After that I use a toner and my regular moisturiser.

                        This face wash definitely mattifies my skin and keeps it that way for about 4 hours at a stretch in an air-conditioned environment but in a non air-conditioned environment it is a little less potent, keeps my skin matte for 2.5 hours at the max. Now coming to the tingling fresh and smooth skin claim, yes both are true to some extent. I mean, upon using this face wash it gives that fresh-cool tingling feel (that justifies the presence of Menthol) and makes the skin very smooth temporarily. It also temporarily shrinks the pores and this is one reason most large-pored oily-skin beauties will love this face wash. The brand truly claims that Green Tea Extracts will soothe the breakouts which it does very well but the Salicylic Acid claim of preventing breakouts is not much true since I have quite a few ugly ones sitting on my face today even after using this product regularly for around 25 days (not less if more).

                          This face wash will suit combination to oily skin with frequent breakouts, I say this as this face wash do not irritate my breakouts but soothe them to quite an extent. Another thing about the the fragrance is that it lingers on for sometimes before fading off. I don't think that refreshing but mild scent will bother even the sensitive noses. One more thing as I wrap up my review of this that it does not leave behind any residue on my skin and gives that squeaky feel to my skin. It does not clean off heavy makeup but it is not designed for that purpose so no problem in this area. But it does clean off your normal bb/cc creams etc but not kajals. For the last few weeks I have been using this range (scrub & mask) once every 5 days and this face wash every day once and I think I am liking it. But this range gives good result when used as a regime in combination with the other products (scrub & mask).

Pros: -

* Easily Available & Affordable

* Soothes my breakouts

* Easy to rinse off, does not leave behind any residue

* Lathers very well (many girls love this quality in a face wash)

* Refreshing fragrance of fresh green tea leaves (extract/oil)

* Shrinks the pores, mattifies the skin, gives a smooth feel (temporary)

* Contains Green Tea/Camellia Sinensis Extracts & Salicylic Acid, both are known to be very good for oily-acne prone skin

Cons: -

* Contains SLS, hence the rich lather

* All the effects are temporary, very short lived

                     I rate Lakme Clear Pores Clean Up Face Wash 4 out of 5 specially because of its pore shrinking and mattifying capabilities though these are very temporary. The presence of green tea & salicylic acid didn't let me rate this face wash any less than 4. This isn't recommended for dry or normal skin beauties as you might feel that horrid stretchy after feel which we all hate. This is not a great face wash but its worth trying once if you are an oil factory like me :D

Hope this review helped you in some way. Thank you for reading this review and please do leave behind your experience with Lakme Face Washes. Have a great time ahead :)
