My Opinion: - There has been an overload of brush reviews in BDI, for a change here I am reviewing Avon's Fairness Exfoliation Face Wash. I use exfoliating face wash regularly specially in the summers and this time I chose this one from Avon. The packaging of the face wash is very pretty and girly. The plastic tube is a pin and white gradient with a navy blue screw-on cap. This tube is travel friendly as well as hygienic. Its a small tube and can be thrown into your purse for emergencies.
The fragrance of this exfoliating face was is sweet and fruity. I think it will be liked by most people even by the ones with sensitive noses. The testure is that of a clear gel, not thick but not even runny. The gel is infused with very tiny grains which are not visible to the naked eyes. But these grains are extremely mild and non-gritty. I take out a blob of this face wash on the back of my hand and gently massage it onto my wet face for a minute or two. I wash off by splashing water and it goes off easily. The grains are gentle on my skin but gives a good polishing and cleansing. It brightens and adds a glow to the skin temporarily.

I have been using it on and off for sometimes now (2 months) and the tube is nearly over now. I think daily use will give 40+ days of product and since I have not been using it frequently, the tube still has a few uses of product left in it. Therefore its affordable at Rs 95 and you need a small blob for every use. This face wash lathers a little and beauties who love their face washes to foam a lot might not like this. It removes light makeup (moisturiser, compact powder) effortlessly. It gives a clean and fresh feel to my skin after using it making it soft and supple. For the past one week I have been using it daily just to finish it off and it has not irritated my skin or dried it. Perfect for daily use.
Pros: -
* Affordable
* Mild exfoliation
* Gentle on skin
* Didn't irritate my skin or break me out
* All claims made by the brand are true
* Cleans, softens and brightens my skin
Cons: -
* Contains Parabens (most products do)
* None actually
I rate Avon Care Fairness Exfoliation Face Wash 4.5 out of 5 as it is very affordable and cleans my skin perfectly. With regular use, this tube of face was will take 40+ days to get over. It didn't irritate my oily acne prone skin and didn't dry out my skin with daily use. Avon claims this face wash is suitable for all skin types, but I have doubts very dry skin beauties might not like it as much as oily skin beauties would.
Hope this review helped you in some way and do leave behind your sweet comments and also tell us about your favorite Exfoliating Face Wash. Thank you and have a great Sunday afternoon :)

Face Wash contains Iodine
My Opinion: - Yesterday I reviewed the newly launched Lakme Clear Pores Clean Up Range which were available in shops long before their formal launch. So today I am going to review the pretty pink Lakme Fresh Fairness Clean Up Range and I am starting with the face wash. In my Lakme Clear Pores Clean Up Face Scrub review post, I had said that I have been using an exfoliating face wash daily. Yes I was talking about Lakme Fresh Fairness Clean Up Face Wash with Vitabeads which I have been using since 45 days or so and I still have product left in the tube to be used. I don't use it when I use any scrub other than the Fresh Fairness Scrub.

Ok now coming back to the review, the packaging is a pretty pink tube with opalescent flip open lid which I never take along during my travels. The lid is not loose at first but somehow it does not stay tight after some days of use. And hence I fear it might create a big mess in my makeup/skin care kit. The fragrance is mild and artificial with a touch of floral notes, I personally don't like it and I would recommend checking out the scent at the store before purchasing. It smells somewhat like bleach if I am not wrong.

The face wash is a thick clear gel with a slight pink tinge to it with invisible beads which Lakme calls Vitabeads, you can just feel them when you rub your palms together to lather up the gel. I squeeze out a small blob of the gel on my palm and add a few drops of water, foam it and then apply to my wet face and neck and yes let me tell you it lathers up very well. I leave it to work for a minute or two and rinse off. Just a few splashes are enough to wash off the face wash and it does not leave behind any residue on my skin. It gives an instant cool tingling freshness, thanks to Menthol. The Vitabeads gives a gentle exfoliation to my skin which I think is necessary for oilies like me on a daily basis.

This Fresh Fairness Face Wash leaves my skin soft and radiant and gives an immediate whitening effect which I hate. The effects are temporary but one thing I like about this face wash is that it can control oil for 2-3 hours. Also it does not give me that horrid stretchy after feel. It removes dirt and grime and light make up with ease. Lakme claims this face wash is suitable for all skin types but I have a doubt as it controls oil and my skin is very oily so I think it will not suit dry skin. Lakme also claims that this range is enriched with Apricot Extracts along with Vitabeads but I do not see Apricot in the Ingredient list.
Pros: -
* Easily Available & Affordable
* Pretty Pink Packaging <3 <3 <3
* A small blob is enough for one use, 50 gms still going on after 1 + month of use
* Makes skin soft & radiant
* Gives cool tingling freshness
* Vitabeads gives mild exfoliation
* Washes off easily and does not leave behind any residue
* Cleans off dirt, grime & light makeup
Cons: -
* It smells mildly of bleach and the fragrance in overall is very fake
* Temporary effects
* Gives a fake whitening effect immediately on use
* Lakme website says that this range is enriched with Vitabeads & Apricots Extracts, then why is Apricot not mentioned on the ingredient list?
I rate Lakme Fresh Fairness Clean Up Face Wash 3.75 out of 5. Its just another face wash with a slight exfoliating action. I hate the scent and the fake whitening effect it gives to my skin. Otherwise it cleans well and controls oil to some extent. Not for dry skin even if Lakme says this range suits all skin types, according to me. And that Apricot thing intrigues me :P
Hope this review helped you in some way and do leave behind your sweet comments and also share with us your experience with Exfoliating Face Washes. Thank you and have a great afternoon :)

With Green Tea Extracts
50 g for INR 90
Lakme Says: - Get a Salon-like* Clean-Up
# Cleanses skin gently yet effectively for clear and matte skin
# Helps remove excess oil & helps prevent breakouts
Professional Tip: Use the complete 3 STEP LAKME Clear Pores Clean-Up regularly to see results.
* Refers to basic products used in salon clean ups.
The dirt and excess oil on your skin tends to make it dull and lifeless. Wash your face with Lakmé Clean-up Clear Pores Face Wash and prep your skin for a deep cleansing experience. Enriched with green tea extracts to help soothe your skin, and salicylic acid to prevent breakouts and fight blemishes, this face wash cleanses all visible dirt and impurities, helps control excess oil, and makes your skin feel tingling fresh and matte smooth. (Taken from Lakme Website)
Usage: Squeeze a small amount into your palms and work into a rich lather. Massage on wet face. Rinse thoroughly with water. Suitable all year round.
Caution: Avoid contact with eyes. In case of eye contact rinse thoroughly with clear water.
Ingredients: - Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Cocamido Propyl Betaine, Glycerin, Acrylates Steareth-20 Methacrylate Copolymer, Niacinamide, Sodium Chloride, Triethanolamine, Perfume, Salicyclic Acid, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Zinc PCA, Menthol, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Benzophenone 4, CI 15985, CI 19140, CI 40290, DMDM Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl Butyl Carbamate.
Face Wash Contains Iodine.
My Opinion: - Today I am reviewing the recently launched Lakme Clear Pores Clean Up Range With Green Tea Extracts, I shall start with the face wash first as this is the 1st step to the Salon Clean-Up Regime. This range promises to give a clear & matte skin in 3 easy steps. So lets find out how they fared with me, I have oily-acne prone skin and right now while writing this post I have 6 painful ugly acne sitting on my face. I have very oily skin and therefore I pounce on anything that says "With Green Tea/Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extracts".The packing itself is very refreshing to the eyes, aqua green tube with opalescent flip open cap which I wouldn't trust while travelling, might leak and make a big mess. The fragrance is mild but very refreshing like fresh green tea leaves.
The face wash looks a very light blue-green gel and is on the thicker side as it is not at all runny. A pea size amount is more than enough and lathers very well. The ladies who love foaming/lathering face washes will love this. I usually take out a little on my palm, add a few drops of water, later it up and apply it on my face. I gently spread it all over my face and neck, wait for a couple of mins to let it work on dirt, grime, stale make-up etc and rinse off with water. A few splashes are enough for a squeaky clean feeling. My skin feels fresh and clean and also looks matte. But this face wash does not dry out my skin nor does it give me that horrid stretchy feeling. After that I use a toner and my regular moisturiser.

This face wash definitely mattifies my skin and keeps it that way for about 4 hours at a stretch in an air-conditioned environment but in a non air-conditioned environment it is a little less potent, keeps my skin matte for 2.5 hours at the max. Now coming to the tingling fresh and smooth skin claim, yes both are true to some extent. I mean, upon using this face wash it gives that fresh-cool tingling feel (that justifies the presence of Menthol) and makes the skin very smooth temporarily. It also temporarily shrinks the pores and this is one reason most large-pored oily-skin beauties will love this face wash. The brand truly claims that Green Tea Extracts will soothe the breakouts which it does very well but the Salicylic Acid claim of preventing breakouts is not much true since I have quite a few ugly ones sitting on my face today even after using this product regularly for around 25 days (not less if more).

This face wash will suit combination to oily skin with frequent breakouts, I say this as this face wash do not irritate my breakouts but soothe them to quite an extent. Another thing about the the fragrance is that it lingers on for sometimes before fading off. I don't think that refreshing but mild scent will bother even the sensitive noses. One more thing as I wrap up my review of this that it does not leave behind any residue on my skin and gives that squeaky feel to my skin. It does not clean off heavy makeup but it is not designed for that purpose so no problem in this area. But it does clean off your normal bb/cc creams etc but not kajals. For the last few weeks I have been using this range (scrub & mask) once every 5 days and this face wash every day once and I think I am liking it. But this range gives good result when used as a regime in combination with the other products (scrub & mask).
Pros: -
* Easily Available & Affordable
* Soothes my breakouts
* Easy to rinse off, does not leave behind any residue
* Lathers very well (many girls love this quality in a face wash)
* Refreshing fragrance of fresh green tea leaves (extract/oil)
* Shrinks the pores, mattifies the skin, gives a smooth feel (temporary)
* Contains Green Tea/Camellia Sinensis Extracts & Salicylic Acid, both are known to be very good for oily-acne prone skin
Cons: -
* Contains SLS, hence the rich lather
* All the effects are temporary, very short lived
I rate Lakme Clear Pores Clean Up Face Wash 4 out of 5 specially because of its pore shrinking and mattifying capabilities though these are very temporary. The presence of green tea & salicylic acid didn't let me rate this face wash any less than 4. This isn't recommended for dry or normal skin beauties as you might feel that horrid stretchy after feel which we all hate. This is not a great face wash but its worth trying once if you are an oil factory like me :D
Hope this review helped you in some way. Thank you for reading this review and please do leave behind your experience with Lakme Face Washes. Have a great time ahead :)

Liquorice Extract + Whitening Complex
All Skin Types
200 ml for INR 449
Company Says: - Whitening Foaming Facial Cleanser cleanses and clarifies skin. Contains Liquorice extract to help lighten skin. Massage on wet skin to create a rich lather then rinse off with warm water. Avoid eye area.

Ingredients: - Aqua, Coco-Glucoside, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Glycerin, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glyceryl Oleate, PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrasearate, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Parfum, Phenoxyethanol, Peg-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Saxifraga Sarmentosa, Vitis Vinifera, Propylene Glycol, Lactic Acid, Methylparaben, Butylene Glycol, Propylparaben, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hexyl Cinnamal, Sodium Metabisulphate, Sodium Sulfite, Ethylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Morus Bombycis, Scutellaria Baicalensis, Benzyl Salicyclate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra.
Vitis Vinifera: is our common grapes and its skin extract, leaf extract and the fruit extract is used for their varied properties in cosmetics. It is mainly used for its skin conditioning and antioxidant properties.
Saxifraga Sarmentosa: is an extract of the herb Strawberry Begonia. It is highly known for its skin conditioning and astringent properties.
Morus Bombycis: is an extract found in mulberries which is often used in cosmetics due to the presence of Arbutin. It controls the production of Melanin thereby naturally lightening the skin. It is also high in antioxidants and has anti-aging properties.
Scutellaria Baicalensis: also known as Baikal Scullcap is a genus of flowering plants of the mint family. Its root is used for medicinal purposes. It is a antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory agent.
Glycyrrhiza Glabra: popularly known as Liquorice is used for its moisturising, emollient, smoothing & soothing properties.

My Opinion: - I picked this foaming cleanser when it was on discount as I love to experiment with different cleansers. I use foaming cleansers on a daily basis (read mornings & nights). I have been using Oriflame since ages now and I always stock up and use Pure Nature Organic Soothing Face Wash on and off for years. About two weeks back, I started using it on my face and I must say I am happy with the results. The cleanser comes in a white translucent plastic bottle with a a silver grey screw on plastic cap/lid. The packaging is unique as the shape of the bottle is different from most cleansers I have ever used. Upon opening the lid, the neck of the bottle can be seen. It has a hole from which the cleanser can be dispensed when the bottle is turned upside down. As simple as that that. But inspite of the packaging being mess free, I wouldn't carry a 200 ml bottle when I travel.

The texture of this foaming cleanser is soft creamy and the consistency is that of a thick liquid. The fragrance is similar to medicated oinments/lotions, not the best of scents I guess. But its not strong enough to put me off. I splash water on my face and pour a blob of this cleanser on the palm of my hand and add a few drops of water and foam it gently and then apply it to my wet face & neck. It foams to some extent not too much even though its called a foaming cleanser. The girls/ladies who like too much lather may not like it. It washes off easily with a few splashes of water, doesn't leave behind that slippery feeling or any kind of residue. After washing off the scent does not linger on for long, it goes off till I use toner etc.

This foaming cleanser removes my night cream when I use it in the morning and it cleans off makeup when I use in the evenings. It does its job well by removing every trace of makeup (kajal, lipstick, blush etc). It is not able to remove waterproof mascara, but I don't blame it since nowhere is it mentioned that this cleanser removes makeup. It is very gentle on my skin, it cleans off and controls oil. It's a mild cleanser but truly cleanses and clarifies my skin making it bright. It didn't whiten my skin but it definitely gives a glow. Its a good cleanser but keep it away from your eyes, if it gets into your eyes somehow, it stings like hell. The price is on the higher side but Oriflame always has "sales" going on so wait till this foaming cleanser is on discount.
Pros: -
* Very gentle on my skin
* Does not dry out my skin, no stretchy feeling after washing off
* Cleanses (dirt, grime, makeup) & Clarifies as claimed
* A blob is enough for one use, this foaming cleanser will stay with me 2-3 months atleast
* Brightens my skin, gives that fresh clean feel
* Washes off easily, does not leave behind that slippery feeling
Cons: -
* Pricey & Available only through Oriflame Consultants
* Smells like medicine
* Foams moderately, this may be a con for some girls
* Big bottle makes it difficult to carry along while travelling
I rate Oriflame Optimals White Foaming Cleanser 4.5 out of 5. Its a good cleanser which is working well for me. It recommend it to all beauties who can get hold of Oriflame Consultants and provided this product is on sale/discount.
Hope you enjoyed my review, do leave behind your precious comments and share with us experiences with Oriflame face washes. Thank you and have a nice time :)
