My Opinion: - Eye liner pencils are an easy and quick way to perk up your look. I love to use colored pencil liners to add zing to my eyes and pick me up. I love to play with a multitude of colors and hence I bought a pink and a white eye liner pencil from Maybelline. These pencils are made of plastic and I would call them eye crayons. They are slim pencils with transparent plastic caps; also the color of the shade is denoted at the back of each pencil. They are easy to sharpen and easier to carry around.

                           The eye liner pencils are creamy and I always fear that the tips might break but that has never happened till date. Because of this creaminess and softness, the tips don’t come out very pointed after sharpening. They glide on my eye lids very well without pulling or tugging. The pigmentation is not very good but it’s not bad either. I bought the white pencil solely for my waterline but it cannot be used there without sticking to my lower lashes and gives a gross look. So I use it as base for my eye makeup and the shadows come out more vivid and stay on for longer durations.

NATURAL LIGHT

The white pencil is silvery with very finely milled multi shimmer and the pink pencil is also infused with finely milled shimmer. I love both shades and use them as eye shadow or eye shadow base as well. These pencils last for about 5 hours in an air-conditioned environment and after that it starts fading off but does not leave my eyes stark naked. The pencils do not smudge and crease, they stay on even during the summers (sweating). Therefore I would like to call them waterproof as well as water-resistant. I never went ahead with other shades from this line of eye pencils. But they are decent enough to be used as eye shadow base.

WITH FLASH

Pros: -

Creamy and soft eye pencils

Does not smudge or crease

Does not tug or pull my eye lids

Easily available and affordable too

Cons: -

Difficult to sharpen

 The tips might break sometimes as the pencils are very soft and creamy

Names of shade is not mentioned on the pencils

ARTIFICIAL LIGHT

               I rate Maybelline Vivid and Smooth Liner By Eyestudio 3.75 out of 5. The ingredients are not listed and also the shade names are not mentioned on the pencils and this fact puts me off. Overall they are okayish eye pencils with decent pigmentation. I would not recommend this product as you can buy better eye pencils (Faces) for nearly the same amount of money.

AVON FOOT WORKS POMEGRANATE CHOCOLATE MOISTURIZING FOOT CREAM- REVIEW

ENTER BEAUTYDIVA INDIA'S 2nd BLOG ANNIVERSARY HERE

50 ml for INR 150

Company Says: - Give your feet a sweet pomegranate and chocolate treat! This rich cream moisturizes and smoothes winter dry skin, leaving feet silky soft and fragrant.

To Use:- Apply to clean, dry feet. Massage cream into skin until absorbed, focusing on rough spots. Reapply as needed.

Ingredients: - Water, Mineral Oil, Petrolatum, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Myristyl Myristate, Propylene Glycol Stearate, PEG-40 Stearate, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Carbomer, Choleth-24, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Methylparaben, Potassium Hydroxide, Ceteth-24, Sucrose, CI 15510, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract, CI 14700, CI 42090, Tocopherol

My Opinion: - Just like I was using a body lotion for my hands during the peak of summers, similarly I was using body lotion on my feet as well. But just as fall is approaching and the weather is changing fast, I have reverted back to using a foot cream on my feet religiously. I have used a number of foot creams from various brands and I liked most of them. Today I am putting forward my views on Avon Foot Works Pomegranate Chocolate Moisturizing Foot Cream which is very apt for the day right now. The packaging is a simple white plastic tube with a flip open lid which click shuts tight. The packaging is perfect for carrying it along while travelling.

              The fragrance of this foot cream is very sweet and delectable :P Yes I am serious, very time I use this foot cream, I just want to take a lick at it. The fragrance is chocolate and vanilla and a little bit of citrusy scent added to it. The consistency of this foot cream is light-weight and its texture is smooth and somewhere in between a cream and lotion but I would call it a thick lotion. It is non-greasy and does not make my feet sticky. Stickiness attracts dirt and since it’s not sticky I am using it for day time. This sweet smelling foot cream gets absorbed easily into my skin without much rubbing/massaging.

                  I always apply this cream on my feet after bath and it stays on for long hours till I wash off my feet. It gives my skin enough moisturization and my feet are soft and smooth all day long. This foot cream does not that silky feel since silicones are missing in it. I wear open sandals/shoes etc, actually all types of foot wear and this cream has kept my feet well moisturized all throughout the day. It is not sticky so does not attract dirt and grime and also it does not make my feet sweat. I need a small blob of cream for both feet and therefore it will stay with me for more than Right now it’s working fine for me but comes winter, I shall have to use a heavier foot cream for the day time also. I am also using a richer foot cream during the nights, Fabindia Avocado Foot Cream, which I like as well.

Enough cream for my feet

Pros: -

* Affordable at Rs 150 for 50 ml

* Smells yummy…. Mouth watering actually

* Moisturizes my feet well

* Non-greasy and non-sticky so it’s perfect for day-time wear

* A small blob is enough for my feet, so I can say a little goes a long way

Cons: -

* Contains Parabens

* Company’s claim of smoothing winter dry skin seems to be false as this cream is light and good for day use, I have to use a richer foot cream even during the day in winters

* Avon seems to taken this cream off its catalogues, haven’t seen in recent times, don't know if they have discontinued this foot cream

              I rate this Avon Foot Works Pomegranate Chocolate Moisturizing Foot Cream 4 out of 5. It’s nothing extra-ordinary or gives dramatic results, it’s a simple foot cream with yummy fragrance which gives decent moisturization during the day at this time of the year. That’s it.

Hope you enjoyed this review; please do share your experiences with us about foot creams you are using right now. Thank you and do have a great day

ORIFLAME NATURE HAND & NAIL CREAM WITH NOURISHING COCONUT & RICEMILK- REVIEW

ENTER BEAUTYDIVA INDIA'S 2nd BLOG ANNIVERSARY HERE

75 ml for INR 169

Company Says: - Use hand cream daily for soft, smooth hands and to help protect hands and nails throughout the day.

Ingredients: - Aqua, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Glyceryl, Stearate SE, Stearyl Alcohol, Paraffinum Liquidum, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Polysorbate 20, Parfum, Ceteareth-20, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Methylparaben, Stearic Acid, Carbomer, Propylparaben, Cocos Nucifera, Commiphora Myrrha, Propylene Glycol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Hydroxide, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Isopropyl Myristate, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Pentylene Glycol, Sine Adipe Lac, Trdeceth-9, Coumarin, Oryza Sativa Bran Extract, Benzyl Benzoate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Sorbic Acid

Cocos Nucifera- is our common coconut and it is used in the formulation of moisturisers & body butters as it gets readily absorbed into the skin. It is highly nourishing and conditioning.

Oryza Sativa Bran Extract- is actually Rice bran extract and is used in cosmetic formulations for its skin conditioning and skin protecting properties.

Coumarin- is a white solid crystalline chemical substance with a sweet odour similar to vanilla, sweet & nutty, when diluted it smells like freshly cut hay. The substance naturally occurs in tonka beans, sweet clover, strawberries, cherries, bison grass, woodruff and apricots. In cosmetics it is used in the formulation of after-shave lotion, bath products, cleansing products, moisturizers and various skin care products. It is used in place of vanilla in many a food products.

Commiphora Myrrha- is a natural aromatic gum. It is said to be a tonic with rejuvenating properties. It has medicinal properties and its widely used in the treatment and prevention of gum diseases. Also it is used as an Analgesic for toothaches.

Sine Adipe Lac- is also known as Milch, nonfat dry milk & getrocknet. It is used in cosmetic formulations as an antistatic and skin conditioning agent.

My Opinion: - During the peak summer months, I kept using my body lotion on my hands as well. But now that fall is here, I have reverted back to using proper hand creams. Oriflame has a wide range of hand creams and I have used their Handcare Nourishing Hand Cream for Dry Hands and liked it a lot. So next I wanted to use their Nature Hand and Nail Cream with Nourishing Coconut & Ricemilk. I have been using it during days some quite sometimes now. So here are my views on this hand cream.  The packaging of this product is a white plastic tube with a screw-on cap and there is no fear of mess if you throw it into your handbag for touch-ups. Nothing special about the packaging, it’s very basic.

                          The fragrance of this hand cream is similar to freshly made Coconut Ladoos/Barfis (yummmm…); I simply love its aroma. This white hand cream is something between a lotion and a cream, it’s not runny though. Its light weight in consistency and very smooth and creamy in texture. Even though it is light weight it gives enough moisturization to my hands all throughout the day though I need to reapply it after 3-4 hours (in Air-conditioned environment). This cream is not waterproof or water-resistant. It washes off with plain water. Just a blob is more than enough for both my hands, so I can say that a little goes a long way.

This much is enough for both hands

                            I apply this hand cream only during the daytime, after my bath and maybe twice or thrice thereafter. This cream is good for all seasons (except winters) to be used during the day as it is light weight and non greasy. It gets spread on my hands very easily and also gets absorbed into my skin easily and quickly without much massaging. It has soften my dry rough cuticles and my skin looks hydrated and well cared for after regular use of this product. Nothing dramatic or magical has happened to my hands but they are well moisturised and softer right now. I also use a heavier hand cream during the night along with nail serum etc. This tube contains 75 ml of cream which is very less taking into consideration that I have to use is atleast thrice a day. It’s getting used up pretty fast and I have started looking for another  hand cream for the daytime.

Pros: -

* Fragrance is yummy like coconut ladoos & barfis

* Affordable at Rs 169 and its mostly on sale (this month Oriflame is giving it out at Rs 149)

* Light-weight and non-greasy, hence perfect for day

* Skin absorbs it quickly and easily without any such rubbing/massaging

* No sticky feeling so I can right away touch my mobile phone or work on my lappy

* Its size makes it convenient to throw it into my handbag for later use

Cons: -

* Not waterproof/water-resistant

* Needs to be applied after 4 hours

* It’s going to get used up in over a month’s time I think

* Available only through Oriflame beauty consultants

* A flip-open cap would have been better

* Contains Parabens

I rate this Oriflame Nature Hand and Nail Cream with Nourishing Coconut & Ricemilk 4 out of 5. It’s nothing special but it’s cheap and it does its job well. Must try product for Oriflame loyals and hand product fanatics. I would repurchase only if Oriflame introduces a jumbo pack of this hand cream or maybe I would buy one when I get bored of my other hand creams.

Hope you enjoyed this review, please do share your experiences with us about hand creams you are using right now. Thank you and do have a rocking time.

LAKME nine to five DUAL-ACTION MAKEUP REMOVER- REVIEW

ENTER BEAUTYDIVA INDIA'S 2nd BLOG ANNIVERSARY HERE

120 ml for INR 295

Removes all kinds of lip, eye and face makeup

Company Says: - This twin-phase makeup remover has a unique formulation that gently but thoroughly removes all kinds of makeup including long wearing makeup.
             Shake well.

              Saturate cotton pad and gently sweep over closed eyelids, lips and face area.

               Rinse with cool water

Important: Cap tightly after use to prevent evaporation

Ingredients: - Aqua, Clycomethicone, Isohexadecane, D-Panthenol, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Dimethicone, Sodium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Dipotassium Hydrogen Phosphate, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, DMDM Hydantoin (and) Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate

My Opinion: - We all know the need of a makeup remover. My first one was from Oriflame and then I used Avon followed by Lakme. But in winters it’s only the Revlon Eye & Lip Makeup Remover that I use and it’s effective as well.  Today I am going to put forward my views on the Lakme nine to five Dual-Action Makeup Remover which I have been using on a daily basis for nearly 3 months and now it’s about to get over. I am not satisfied with the packaging as it does not come sealed properly. This makeup remover comes in a transparent pink plastic bottle till a spray dispenser. The lid is also similar pink see through plastic and its shuts tight enough to be travel friendly/spill-proof.

Coming to the fragrance, it a mild floral scent. Nothing special or overwhelming. This twin phased makeup remover is watery on the lower half of the bottle and oily on the upper half of the bottle. It needs to be shaken up well before use and then it becomes a milky whitish viscous liquid. I spray it onto a cotton pad and swipe it over my eyes and all the eye make can be seen diluted. It removes waterproof mascara, eyeliner and kajal with elan. Then again I take one more cotton pad and spray some remover and wipe off my lips, not even a slight tint of lipstick is left behind. For the face I don’t regularly use foundations so I just skip using the remover on my entire face. But when I do use a foundation (tinted/longwear/waterproof), I use this remover to clean up the makeup and it works absolutely well.

The company instructs us to wash off with cool water after using this remover but my face remains quite oily when I wash off with plain water. So here I feel the need to use a good face wash to remove any traces of oil left on my face. It’s not mentioned that its oil free and therefore a little oil staying back on my skin is not a problem. This remover is very gentle on my skin and hence I use it on a daily basis. One big advantage of this makeup remover is that only one product works for lips, eyes and entire face so another product to remove facial makeup is not required. Regular use of this product did not break me out and its very mild and gentle for my skin.

Pros: -

* Easily available

* Affordable Rs 295, since 120 ml lasts me nearly 3 months of regular use

*Gentle on my skin, I am using it on a daily basis

* Very mild makeup remover, didn’t break me out

*Very effective in removing all types of foundations, blushers, waterproof mascara/eyeliner, lipstick/gloss etc.

* Does not sting if it goes into my eyes

THE TEST

Cons: -

* Needs washing off with a face wash to remove that slippery/oily feeling on my skin

* The bottle does not comes sealed, shame shame

AFTER ONE SWIPE WITH COTTON PAD

AFTER TWO SWIPES

THE COTTON PAD SPRAYED WITH MAKEUP REMOVER

THE SOILED COTTON PAD AFTER TWO SWIPES

         I rate this Lakme nine to five Dual-Action Makeup Remover 4.5 out of 5. This remover does it job properly and I don’t have any complaints against it. A decent product for daily use which is gentle on my skin. But one problem is that it isn’t oil-free and needs washing off with a face wash. Recommended to all makeup users, it’s a must try if you use eye makeup on a regular basis.
