LUSTROUS LOCKS- RANDOM TIPS II

Using conditioners is a must. Curd, milk, egg, henna, oil and beer make excellent homemade conditioners. Before shampooing, massage them on to the hair, or mix with henna. Beer can be used as a final rinse. Readymade cream-based conditioner is different though. After shampooing, apply cream conditioner all over hair but not scalp. Comb hair for 5 mins and rinse off thoroughly with water.

If you have a few grey hair, never pluck them. Remove them permanently with the permanent hair removal method.

For persistent scalp diseases, don't rely on home treatments, consult a doctor immediately.

Whats 'in' today goes 'out' tomorrow but certain hairstyles never go out of fashion. Like scanty hair can be trimmed down to a fluffy layered blunt cut.

If you are preparing herbal oil at home, use fresh herbs and leaves like mint, curry leaves, coriander, neem, tulsi, bhringraj, brahmi, henna leaves and rose and jasmine petals and flowers. It adds medicinal and antiseptic value to your oil.

If you decide to perm or tint your hair, for best results stop using henna 2 months prior to the treatment.

LUSTROUS LOCKS- RANDOM TIPS I

During summer apply coconut water or coconut milk with a few drops of lemon on your scalp, leave it on for 30 mins and shampoo off. This keeps your hair healthy and shiny and keeps the mind cool.

Mix a few drops of lemon juice or vinegar into your regular shampoo. Use it as you always do, this will lend sheen to your hair.

If you have dry hair, opt for corn oil rather than olive. This is because corn oil permeates into the hair shaft better than olive oil.

If dandruff refuses to go inspite of using dandruff shampoos, oil treatments or other home treatments then you should start taking Vitamins B, C and E supplements but after consulting your doctor. Severe dandruff is an alarm for alopecia (hairfall) and needs immediately medical attention.

If the texture of your hair is straight from the ends and curly in the middle, you can get rid of this funny look by straightening your hair totally. This can be done at good hair salons. This treatment is usually followed up with natural/herbal treatment, which can be done at home by yourself as well. Mix together 1 cup henna, 1 cup creamy curd, 1 tspn almond oil, 2 eggs, 1 tspn castor oil and 2 tbspn milk cream. Apply all over your hair once a week and comb through to spread evenly.

WELLA KOLESTINT COLOR CREME- A PREVIEW

Somedays back I got a mail from wella kolestint PR, a sweet lady. I was asked whether I was interested in reviewing a hair color and I promptly said yes. Yes, because I love to color my hair even though I know the side effects/damaging effects of hair color. Since last 3 years I am into the habit of color my hair for the sake of fashion or maybe because I love the rich color on my hair.

I was asked to select 2 of the many shades available and I selected Medium Golden Brown which I believe will be great for highlights and Medium Mahogany Brown which I will be using as the base color. About a week ago I got the packs and was dying to do a preview on it. I am so excited to use these colors on my hair and come Sunday, I will put on the color and share the pics with you :)

My hair is basically problem-free and I just use a shampoo and a conditioner and that's about it. So I will review these colors after I use them and tell you girls all the details. Thanks :D

BRIDAL NAIL ART WITH COLORFUL RHINESTONES

Hello Ladies, today I have a simple nailart to share with you. Last week my cousin got engaged and I had to dress up for the party. When it comes to parties, the first thing that comes to me is to dress up my nails and the second thing is my eye makeup (I will share this later)

First Step

Here I have used a nail polish from Oriflame, its a greyish-blue-ish silvery color and then I used orange, magenta, white and other rhinestones on my nails. I sealed in the rhinestone with 2 coats of top coat. Hope you enjoyed my work. Thanks for bearing with me :D

FATS FOR SUPER SKIN

Eating fats for better skin may sound fishy but it is a fact that fats especially in fish can do wonders for the skin. Eat fish atleast twice a week. The fats in ghee and vanaspati are saturated fats, the kind that clog arteries and contribute to reduce nutrition to skin, heart other structures. But there is a class of fats called unsaturated fats (PUFAs) that can actually stall or reverse these hazardous effects.

Recent research studies have showed that when a balance exists between omega-3 fatty acids (fish oils and over the counter fish oil pills) and omega-6 fatty acids (safflower, sunflower and corn oil), then conditions are ideal for optimum skin. The problem is that most of us get little omega-3's and a lot more omega-6 fatty acids in the diet. All PUFAs are essential, to help us absorb the fat soluble vitamins A, D and E. A deficiency of these vitamins could result in red and irritated skin. Other seafood such as oysters are fortified with zinc, iron and copper- all essential in skin care.

So now you know all the facts, start eating healthy today ! Your skin will thank you for it. After all beauty lies not in the eyes of the beholder but in the hands of the smart eater =D

SKIN SPOILERS- BEWARE!!!

Hi Girls, today I have for you a couple of things that can mar your good looks.

First one in the list is Crash Diets. Crash Diets are the biggest culprits when it comes to destroying the skin. The elastic network of collagen fibers breaks down when you rapidly lose weight, and that in turn promotes the formation of premature wrinkles.

Excessive alcohol is another notorious beauty robber. Among other things, it can cause tiny facial capillaries to burst, resulting in unsightly spidery lines. It also prevents your system from properly utilizing the nutrients in foods, so that even if you eat a balanced diet, you are still at risk for a vitamin or mineral deficiency, if you're a heavy drinker.

Iodine in seafood, especially in shrimp can spark a temporary rash in people with allergies. Some of us may be sensitive to iodine and may not realize it. Switching away from iodized salt, or reducing the consumption of seafood can reduce the tendency towards inflammation and breakout in some individuals.

Lastly, avoid or cut down on caffeine, alcohol, tobacco, spicy food and extreme temperatures, if you have fragile, superficial blood vessels

That's it for the day, I will be back with more. Till then eat right. Bye girls
